FES is better is most ways. It has 3D environments, anime cutscenes, and more strategical gameplay. Portable is a half assed port that has none of this. If you aren't going to play FES or Portable, then I suggest waiting for Reloaded.
If there was something i disliked in FES was no s.links with your male partners. P3P fixed that and in the case of those 2, it fills the gaps of the originals explaining shit of their past and daily life. So, people will keep thinking Junpei is a shit when he has to deal with his drunken fathers bs regularly while Yukari keeps being a b***h to him.
Either wait or play FES. FES is the better version overall, the only thing that P3P has going for it is some cute interactions/fleshing out Akihiko and Shinji if you go FeMC route. Oh and you can fight the super boss without going new game plus if you arent on easy mode, that was nice.
