the entire story is conveyed to your through journals, notes, diary entries, voice recordings detailing every little thing that went on and you end up having to read a book to understand the plot instead of simply looking around the enviroment and inherently guessing just exactly what went on (IE: broken containment tank, bloody handprints,claw marks and a trail of blood leading into the air ducts)

Any multiplayer game where the devs balance around analytics such as Winrates,pickrates and skill tiers aka "muh 50% winrate". this is probably one of the most pseduo intellectual moves possible and really shows that you dont want to make a actually good experience so much as you want a skinnerbox. nothing more aids and cringe than gamers that try to be "E-sport ready" and "competitive" right off the fricking bat christ frick this attitude. literally the bane of MP experience nowadays.

Taking control away from the player is also a red flag. The biggest red flag for a shitty game is when all the marketing revolves around the story and setting and none of it has anything to do with gameplay and in-game mechanics.
