Only if you're willing to use mods like VRIK, HIGGS, and PLANCK to make it actually feel like a good vr game. Then add stuff like higher res textures, ordinator stuff, dyndolod, etc as you like to tweak gameplay and graphics.
The opening breaks because of how script heavy it is in VR. But it's otherwise the most fun way to play the game and the only way to make the melee combat good. I'd say it's worth it.
Morrowind was made by veteran fantasy worldbuilders and people with a college education in world cultures while Daggerfall was made by some neckbeards basing it on their schlocky D&D campaign
Morrowind got so much wrong it is the only TES game of dubious canon now.
It is the reason the unreliable narrator has to be used as a crutch so often. The devs that worked on the game did no research on the setting.
It's the most RPG of any of the TES games. Every iteration of TES after Daggerfall has been a step toward "accessibility" (casualization). Like another anon said, Skyrim is just the one that was able to make people feel like they were playing a hardcore RPG game, when in reality it's a sanitized, watered down TES "RPG" for the masses. It was also the first time most of them learned about mods so they felt like super smart hackers as a bonus.

Fine. Every single awarding event with merit is giving their highest honor to BG3. There are articles of literal developers in the industry who had to warn people that the bar set by BG3 is not and cannot be the standard because it's too much. Just typing in Baldur's Gate 3 gets you almost universal praise and countless "BG3 is GOTY" videos. Metacritic has BG3, at a 96, beating BG2 which was always called the best CRPG ever made. It's on track to bearing TotK on everything except Nintendo centric websites for GOTY every single time they compete. Steam reviews are overwhelmingly positive across the board and people are still playing the game and talking about it.
Starfield got none of this. All that got are videos showing how big of a disappointment it is, barely cracked an 80 on Metacritic, nobody is playing the game anywhere online and nobody is talking about it.

Bullshit. Even today Skyrim is called one of the best and most influential games ever made. Taking into account the multiple millions of sales they still make a decade later, Skyrim is easily their best game and their only actually good game. Nobody talks about any of their other games like they do with Skyrim.
So you're saying a game has to sell like garbage in order for it to be overwhelmingly loved? That's an oxymoron considering a game that sells like shit wouldn't be played by enough people to even sniff universal acclaim.

>No you don't understand, Morrowind has epic lore and a story and totally isn't the best just because I played it as a child >I-ignore the gameplay being actual shit
Amazing game you have there. If 'plays' like fricking garry's mod
The only Bethesda made games I really like are Daggerfall and Starfield. I've never figured out why I get hours in their other games and just lose interest. I'd blame the "art thou the fairest dame of them all?" medieval/fantasy settings, but that doesn't explain why I like Daggerfall.
Always I tell myself "This time I'll finish everything in a single playthrough" but I have yet to do it even with my 850 hours. On my recent playthrough I managed to go up to Lv.49, which was my highest level, and even completing dragonborn for the first time but I can't continue. I have nothing to level up for my playstyle anymore and I kill everything in one hit on legendary. Considering the stuff I still have left to do that wouldn't be much fun. Is there no mod that makes leveling up slower?
>likable enough game when you have limited experience >the more genuinely good games you play the worse it becomes until vanilla is almost unplayably bad
I don't actually feel it that much with Fallout 3. The writing and worldbuilding feels noticeably dumber and more hollow but the exploration is still fun in that game and the RPG progression and balance is serviceable, something that isn't really the case in most other Bethesda games with their infinite enemy health scaling and no level cap
even on my most recent modded run a few years ago i realized i was only playing for the world and some favorite quests and stopped playing about 80 hours in yet again.
it's not a good game in a conventional sense, but it's a great playground to adventure and dick around in. i haven't come across anything like it except minecraft kek since it came out. it's complicated
One name: Soule. Think about it. Every Bethesda game that Soule worked on (Oblivion, Morrowind, Skyrim)? Decent to great. Inon Zur (Fallout 3, Fallout 4, Starfield) ? All irredeemable shit.
I say this as someone who has hundreds of hours in every Elder Scrolls game, bordering on a thousand for each one because mods add so much content. I used to play Morrowind back on the original Xbox. I love all of these games, and I still visit them every year.
Skyrim is the best elder scrolls right now. Morrowind is super overrated. Tried getting my friend into it the other week, we played TES3MP running OpenMW. We were having fun doing quests, clearing dungeons, getting loot. I asked him what he thought of the game. "It's good, but it's pretty old. You can definitely tell with the combat system and the graphics. I really like the different biomes and how exotic it feels, not like Skyrim. But, I probably wouldn't play it by myself. This game has a learning curve."
Skyrim is easy for anyone to pick up. A literal grandma has a YouTube channel where she plays Skyrim. You can have fun in Skyrim, and usually see something you haven't before pretty easily. You don't have to pick a class, and you can switch your sign whenever. Instead of having to have a specialized character like the previous games, you can actually master all skills over the course of your play and enjoy everything with just one hero. Also, shouts are fun.
Oblivion is kind of the awkward middle child for me. It's good, but it lacks some of the depth of Morrowind by removing some weapons skills and spells, while also not having the cool features of Skyrim like being able to dismember people, transform into a monster, or ride a dragon. I love the Shivering Isles, and some of the guilds have pretty cool quests too. The Dark Brotherhood and Arena are my favorites, but the Fighters Guild and Thieves Guild is cool too.
After playing the games and realizing that only Daggerfall and Morrowind to a lesser extent are any good, TES VI will be, at most, a "try it on Gamepass" thing for me. For people who like TES games, I think itll be good though. Starfield is going to influence TES about as much as Fallout does, which is next to not at all where it's important.
Never played it, is it worth playing it in VR for the first time?
I tried to get into it, but stopped. At this point I think I just can't do the setting of TES games considering Skyrim is the best it has to offer.
All that said, I'd think this would be a great game for VR.
Only if you're willing to use mods like VRIK, HIGGS, and PLANCK to make it actually feel like a good vr game. Then add stuff like higher res textures, ordinator stuff, dyndolod, etc as you like to tweak gameplay and graphics.

>I-ignore the gameplay being actual shit
Amazing game you have there. If 'plays' like fricking garry's mod
They became lazy:
F4: over reliance on building settlements
F76: No npcs
Starfield: over reliance on procgen, ignoring everything else
It's like they don't play their own games and realize they turn to shit quickly.
The only Bethesda made games I really like are Daggerfall and Starfield. I've never figured out why I get hours in their other games and just lose interest. I'd blame the "art thou the fairest dame of them all?" medieval/fantasy settings, but that doesn't explain why I like Daggerfall.
WHEN THE FRICK IS GLENMORIL GOING TO BE FINISHED
fallout 3 and 76 are good too
>west of whiterun
>giants, mammoths, streams
>pirate caves, demolished towers, farms and other buildin on the horizon
>your adventure begins
home
Always I tell myself "This time I'll finish everything in a single playthrough" but I have yet to do it even with my 850 hours. On my recent playthrough I managed to go up to Lv.49, which was my highest level, and even completing dragonborn for the first time but I can't continue. I have nothing to level up for my playstyle anymore and I kill everything in one hit on legendary. Considering the stuff I still have left to do that wouldn't be much fun. Is there no mod that makes leveling up slower?
>zoomers are old enough to have grown with Skyrim and think it's a good game
>likable enough game when you have limited experience
>the more genuinely good games you play the worse it becomes until vanilla is almost unplayably bad
are there any other games like this?
Fallout 4, Starfield, Fallout 3... oh
I don't actually feel it that much with Fallout 3. The writing and worldbuilding feels noticeably dumber and more hollow but the exploration is still fun in that game and the RPG progression and balance is serviceable, something that isn't really the case in most other Bethesda games with their infinite enemy health scaling and no level cap
its over
even on my most recent modded run a few years ago i realized i was only playing for the world and some favorite quests and stopped playing about 80 hours in yet again.
it's not a good game in a conventional sense, but it's a great playground to adventure and dick around in. i haven't come across anything like it except minecraft kek since it came out. it's complicated
Skyrim is only good when heavily modded with Requiem
Todd sold his soul it’s over
One name: Soule.
I hope y'all homies are ready for the terror TES 3+3 is gonna be
bustin'
why terror
>starting the game inside a dwemer vault
>do you get to the sand district very often
>hammerfell belongs to the redguards!
