They're the least relatable race when it comes to the ten main ones on Tamriel, and Skyrim of all provinces is especially an odd place for them to be in. More direct xenophobia towards them is more apparent in Oblivion though, Leyawiin's Countess is transparent about her disdain for beast races and it's the city closest to Black Marsh and Elsweyr.
You also conveniently left out Madesi, who is probably the first Argonian npc most people will see.

Well they are suspected to have created the Knahaten flu and If i'm not mistaken there's a lot of argonian pirates in the waters around black marsh coasts, then there's the dunmer of the 4th era who now have a legitimate reason to hate argonians after they literally razed southern morrowind to the ground during their invassion
