The overall change to posting that came post-2016 with wojak spam, "cope"/"seethe" posting, and general low-effortness of people posting here nose-dived discussions for any game on Ganker with more than 20 fans. It's not mutually exclusive to Smash, you just associate it with Smash more than other franchises because Smash is one of the most discussed games on this site.
