Also funny how Mechagnomes have the exact same faces as regular ones and even when they could potentially be the most diverse race visually due to their mechanical addons, they managed to be even less customizable than regular gnomes by having lesser hairstyles and colors and lesser faces

The intro questline wasn't too bad, but there's nothing to do afterwards.
There's nothing worth exploring in the Assault areas like in Nazjatar, all there is is a brainless grind for 10000 coalescing visions to do another Horrific Visions run.
Allied Race DKs rivals Selfie Patch as the laziest thing they've ever done, with no new skins or haircolors and they even forgot the DK voice modulation.
There's also not really a point in leveling them or a Vulpera/Mechagnome now with the announced changes to leveling in 9.0.
The raid might be fun, but only for one run to see it, as there's no point at all in the gear treadmill grind cycle.
All in all, this patch feels like a bandaid filler patch since they gave up entirely on BfA and want to get to Shadowlands asap for another revenue boost. They already confirmed they have no 8.3.5 patch planned so that seems to be the case.
And I don't know how to feel about Shadowlands at all because while the progression changes sound promising, it seems weak on new features and 8.3 is pretty much the opposite of what they're promising.
I'll keep an eye out for the Beta but currently it really seems like Activision is going to slowly kill off WoW by putting it in maintenance mode.
I think one of the major red flags recently was when they said they couldn't thnk of any new classes when the whole community has been buzzing about tinkers.
I also get the feeling Sethrak were supposed to be added but shit fell through.
They have the Heart of Azeroth animation, their own racial mount AND cape and tabard geosets. Seems like a lot of wasted effort just for an npc race.

8.3 has a small quest with Calia that doesn't really go anywhere and doesn't get any closure, and with what we've been told about Shadowlands it doesn't seem like something that'll be covered in that expansion.

Even with previos droughts, expansions still came at the 2 year mark.
BfA had a longer patch cycle (and it sucked) precifically to counteract the long drought after the final patch. If they still have a 12 month drought even after that, it kills the game.
I expect Shadowlands will be out sometime in november. Hope 8.3 isn't the only patch until then.

This fricking CANCER quest design makes every single questline in modern WoW tedious. It's literally no different to what it would be like if Blizzard made it so you couldn't turn on instant quest text. I don't want to sit there passively watching NPCs emote at each other, it is absolute garbage design. If I wanted to be passive I'd watch TV (I don't even own a fricking TV anymore).

I don't like lore and story when it's delivered in a half-assed, infodump way that literally involves standing there doing nothing for protracted periods of time. Particularly not when it's combined with extremely stilted dialogue and terrible voice acting. That isn't gameplay, that's exposition, and it's bad exposition.
You know what was interesting? All the Horde quests dealing with the Silithid in Vanilla. It's 90% told through gameplay, it starts at level 18 and ties directly into the AQ patches. And at no point do I ever get subjected to 10 minutes of bad voice acting with zero gameplay input.

Most specs are pretty reliant on Azerite traits to be fun. Unholy right now is entirely built around gaming Festermight stacks.
