Invasions. There will be an "Inquisitor" mode, you play as an Inquisitor and attack players going through their story modes. Not customizable at first, you can get upgrades for your armor and Lightsaber and change their appearance by playing your campaign, as well as defeating others online.

They cut a Dark Side Cal fight from the first game because it's too hard for players to fight someone who has all their abilities. Just try that fight in the meditation training mode. It's completely unreasonable. Barely survivable on the second to easiest difficulty. If you look at videos of how people have beaten him on Grandmaster, it's all exploitation of AI glitches. The only opponent that is harder than dark Cal is Jaro Tapal, an opponent that is literally impossible to beat, to the point of not having a death animation.
If they're going to add invasions to the sequel, they will have to be nerfed invasions. Not just the inability to heal, but the inability to do most of the player's moves.

I haven't watched any star wars for a while and don't plan to watch Kenobi anytime soon. It doesn't have to be 100% consistent but the fact they don't have a group of needs to run things by like Marvel used to do makes for so much bullshit that contradicts itself constantly.
NuDisney seems to be pushing the idea that the force us like some sort of zen state and if you are not in the right state of mind you can't use force powers. It showed up again in the obiwan Kenobi show too with him forgetting his powers albeit briefly. I really liked the first one but it was a bit rough around the edges in areas like animations and collectibles so I am hoping for a jump in quality and expecting it to be pretty great.

I hope they improve the aesthetics a bit. The game's plot and soundtrack were great, but it feels like they weren't good at handling the Unreal Engine, since Respawn primarily worked on Source for Titanfall and Apex Legends. A lot of the cutscenes looked janky, and they never really got the aesthetics down for things like the Wookiees. I also hope that the dudes who worked on JFO's OST return, they did a great job with it.

Exactly. The reason they look like shit in this game is that for performance purposes the fur materials have to use alphatest shaders instead of alphablend. So, wide and defined strands instead of loose strands with many individual hairs in the texture. A single mesh having multiple overlayed alphablend layers would be a gigantic waste of processing power because there is no built in optimization for it in drivers.
Easy solution: don't have Wookiees in your realistic game.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they failed to take into account the different skull shape in profile when modeling the characters, so when performance capture animations were applied to a skull who's shape does not reflect the actress, it deforms incorrectly even if it looks correct from the front.

Jedi Fallen Order is pretty based. In the opening I was thinking I wouldn't like it but it's been enjoyable. If they can clean up the wonky ass gameplay and terrible combat animations in the next one they'll have something great on their hands. I just got the dual light saber after coming back from the arena battle. How far am I?

The gameplay can be satisfying when it works but it definitely needs some refinement.
I think it shows promise as a foundation and different direction for Respawn but has plenty of room for improvement. I wouldn't be surprised if the sequel is a pretty major leap, like Assassin's Creed 2 to 1. From there on it might go pear shaped but a second game is usually better.

The various Jedi fighting forms. We know there are several, and they all could allow for different gameplay styles a la Dark Souls.
So these guys are gonna die, right? I mean ignoring how Ahsoka's done frick-all in the nineteen years between E3 and E4, Vader's aware that these guys exist and they're actively opposing the Empire. It's funny how there are all these Jedi running around and fighting the Empire, but from E4 to E6 it's down to just Luke doing anything.
Vader could've killed Obi Wan twice in his own show thanks to Disney's recent retcon but played with him the first time and outright gave up the second time. Disney logic is screwy because they'll try to milk anything to sell for a D+ show.

Decent looking environments. Underwhelming story and disappointing gameplay.
I expected the game to be suddenly about Merrin or something and am happy to see Cal is still here. Seeing Magna-Guards are going to be in the game thanks to toy leaks makes me excited we'll see other cool stuff. Hope the cutscenes will be skippable this time and otherwise very hype and think it'll be fun. Respawn understands what makes a good game and clearly understands the Lucasarts mindset of making a SW game good, ie: having fricking nothing to do with whatever the movies are doing and simply doing their own thing.
Also really hoping for more outfit and visual customization because the lightsaber stuff felt fricking pointless while I was pining for more ponchos.

Jedi Fallen Order is my most hated game of all time. I wouldn't call it the worst game I've played though. What makes me hate it the most is that a game so mediocre, so unimpressive in every metric, had so many NPCs cum all over their screens with praise for it. The combat should remove health and only leave stamina, so that blasters and lightsabers would be deadly. If you don't deflect, your character desperately struggles to defend and loses a lot of stamina. If you block, you lose some stamina. If you perfect parry, you lose no stamina and the opponent gets hit instead. Boss fights are about draining stamina all the way until you can land a killing blow or disarm them with the Force. That's how you make the lightsaber as powerful as it is in the movies, and how you make the blasters live up to the 1970's special effects where they blow giant chunks of wall away on hit.
I'd try it. Not sure it would work for a full length game, but I'd gladly give it a try.
Also, stances. Regular Luke stance has no strengths or weaknesses. You get good offense and defense and it's all about concentration. Fast Ahsoka stance receives less damage from defense and deals less damage from attacks, but gets a damage buff after dodges and jumps. So, you're the most efficient when zipping around ilke a maniac and dodging instead of blocking. Strong Vader stance receives more damage from blocking but deals more damage from perfect parry and attacks, and gets further damage buffs from not using dodges, not jumping and not running. So you walk slowly around like a terminator and destroy anything that tries to come near you with sheer skill and power.

You're not one shotting anything that isn't literally a defenseless biological organism. And how exactly is it not how a lightsaber works? Something gets its head cut clean off when you slice them in the neck. It doesn't just leave a nasty burn and keep the target alive.
Is it that much dumber than what we have right now though? Early on the game even sounds apologetic about it with shit like "uhhh this giant frog actually has lightsaber resistant skin", and even late in the game you can 1-2 shot almost all ranged enemies except purge troopers but then get bosses like the owlbat that have literally nothing more to their fight than hacking away at its massive, hp bloated crotch for 10 minutes, only interrupted by brief dodge left-dodge right-double jump challenges. So then does it really matter if it's a hp bar or a stamina bar I'm whittling down?

I hope his voice acting improved a bit. His acting was fine most of the time, but some of his lines were way off. Still nowhere near as bad as Cere's though, half of the time it was like they gave her no context for her lines so she performed them as if she were speaking to herself instead of having a conversation.

I've been saying since the beginning you should be able to choose you take on your forays off-ship and not have the game restricted to Cal. Also Merrin can be a darksider choice since they're immune to negative effects of the dark side due to the ichor. Or someone else.

It follows the metroidvania level progression. You unlock new abilities as you progress, and new parts of levels become accessible based on your new abilities. Those previously locked areas only make sense in the context of the current part of the overall story, and being able to access them earlier would make no sense. Especially in the context of the fact that BD-1 is programmed to show holographic messages when taken to certain locations.
And even if you would prevent the player from having access to push, pull and double jump, that would mean that a large portion of the skill tree would also be inaccessible. Cal can't use a lightsaber throw in any capacity being physically incapable of force throwing and force pulling.

Literally from the start Star Wars has had wacky names. "Luke" and "Owen" were surrounded by the likes of Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Chewbacca and Biggs Darklighter.
There's actually very few 'normal-sounding' names which makes Luke and Owen and Kyle and Cal all stand out.

What I'll be most interested in is how the sequel handles progression. Fallen Order had a very deliberately paced progression curve, and even storywise it was believable. For Survivor though, the only abilities they can strip from you while keeping things believable are things like wall climbing, diving, and some of BD-1's hacking tricks. But on the downside starting you off with all of these abilities would make for a sharp difficulty curve for new players right at the start and would turn Fallen Order into basically the designated training course.
I suppose someone should play some Dark Forces games and look at what they did. How about actually having some color-coded keys, code sequences and physical keys like that game had? Of course someone could make it up to an elevated position by using a newly acquired jumping ability like in classic metroidvania, but that only goes so far if the elevated position is locked.
Also: Sequencer charges. Let Cal blow shit up. That even has an interesting balance factor because you need to choose which wall to detonate over another, and you only have so many charges.
