Well from what I gathered, we're likely entering Cream's dreams.
They'd probably also do that because it rhymes.
I say this because she's given the focus at first but everyone but her is shown taking action. So it makes sense. Maybe the sheep thing is her relative or some kind of new mcguffin race they're introducing.

It looks like it will be good by mobile game standards. Expecting it to be good by console game standards is just silly. For reference Diablo Immortal was good by the mobile game standards, the other games in the genre that are mobile exclusive are so dogshit it's probably the absolute best in the genre by mobile game standards.

The levels are mostly floating boxes and railways with some halfpipes or quarterpipes here and there. Looks pretty lame.
The opening animation is cool though, Tyson Hesse and his team have loads of talent. And it's nice to see Cream again.
But it feels weird to call it "Dream Team" and not have Blaze prominently featured, since she's basically the prime "Dream Friend" of the Sonic cast. The whole "dream world" thing could transcend dimensional barriers, so it would have been a nice excuse to just let her hang out with her friends. But I feel like she wasn't considered because Hardlight are big Sonic 06 apologists who think Blaze shouldn't be Sonic's friend, just Silver's. Or maybe Sega's saving her for a bigger game?
No Blaze is also weird if it's Cream's dream world, since Cream thinks of Blaze as her best friend.
You'd think someone at Hardlight would think "Cream is stuck in her dream world and calling her friends to her" would be a nice excuse to bring in Blaze again, but apparently not.

Sonic and Blaze are both Cream's idols, pretty much. A big sad they don't use this story as an opportunity for Sonic and Blaze to team up just for Cream's sake.

This was pre-shadow so Sonic games were at least decent. The Advance games are notoriously divisive because of the level designs. Personally I never liked the levels in them, but the sprites are fricking peak aesthetic. Wish they brought that shit back.
