>Trejo seeks to represent customers nationwide who bought a PS5 in the United States, plus an Illinois Subclass.
>Sony knowingly conceals a defect in its PlayStation 5 (PS5) video game system that causes the system to suddenly crash while users are playing games, a new class action lawsuit alleges.
>Plaintiff Christina Trejo filed the class action lawsuit against Sony Corporation of America July 12 in an Illinois federal court, alleging violations of state and federal consumer law.
>According to the complaint, the PS5 contains a defect that causes the console to suddenly power down while the user is playing video games, often losing saved gameplay.
>“While the PS5 can be used for many entertainment purposes, playing video games on the console is its primary function,” Trejo states.
>“The Console Defect affects users’ ability to play video games and compromises the primary function and overall usage of the PS5.”
>Trejo alleges Sony was aware of the Console Defect through warranty repair requests, online consumer complaints, and its own online service resources.
>“However, despite its knowledge of the Console Defect, Defendant failed to, and continues to fail to, disclose the defect to consumers prior to them purchasing the PS5, nor has Defendant taken any substantial action to remedy the problem,” she states.
>Sony has sold millions of defective PS5s, lawsuit alleges
>Since its launch in late 2020, Sony has sold more than 19 million units of the system worldwide, the lawsuit states.
>Before its release, Sony advertised the console as coming equipped with “lightning speed, breathtaking immersion [and] stunning games.”
>However, months after Trejo bought hers at a Walmart for $499.99 plus tax, the console began to consistently crash. She says if she and others had known about the defect, they wouldn’t have bought the PS5, or would have paid less for it.

People in the US can sue anyone for anything, this really isn't that big of an issue if it's not widespread. A single GDDR6 chip failure in one unit doesn't mean much.
>jury trial
It's over for Sony
What's the defect?
meanwhile at nintendo
>the entire console is fricked
vs
>the controllers are fricked
yeah Sony is in deep shit
>yeah Sony is in deep shit
why would they be
the courts decided nintendo wasnt responsible for their faulty controllers
Sony & Nintendo both be having lawsuits on daily basis, and xbox is just in their corner doing their things.
What a weird generation.
Danny Trejo's on the case?
America is the land of grifters
It's a class action suit, therefore it must be true!
doesn't even matter if it's true, it's a jury trial, you just need to convince 4 boomers and 3 zoomers
When was the actual point Sony became such a pathetic, lying, scamming piece of shit company whose products only the most absolute beta cucks specimen of humankind would purchase from?
>Trejo
I've had mine since a few months after launch and have never had that happen cause there ain't no games to play on it lol! no but seriously it's crashed a few times, but never powered off suddenly like that. mother fricker probably has inside a closed cabinet and it's over heating or something.
>mother fricker probably has inside a closed cabinet and it's over heating or something.
Kinda not seeing how that's his problem.
Help! I'm running my high powered electrical device with no ventilation, and it keeps overheating and turning off while I'm trying to game! This is an outrage!
>let me tell you why MY console shutting down is YOUR problem
>t. Karen
>it's crashed a few times
bro, that's not normal for a console, this is not a PC
I can't even remember my PS4 slim ever crashing before I did the 9.00 jailbreak.
It happened while playing Cyberpunk
Alright, that's definitely not the PS5's fault then, that thing's just a buggy mess.
well that explains the PS5 shortage

Anybody can file a petition against a defendant to summon them to court, what is it with you morons going reddit_surprised_face.jpg when you see articles about people or corporations being sued. Idiots
>one person's PS5 crashes
>lawyer goes full moron and tries to bring up a class action
I know three guys with a PS5 here in yurop and none of them is complaining about any crashes whatsoever. Ganker is absolute rabid when it comes to trashing snoy products and I've never heard anyone complain about constant crashing. Is this actually a widespread issue or does this one person have a faulty unit?
Oh no Sonybr*ny, it's over.
