I just cant bring myself to play it
And its not because of muh dlc cost or CA ( I creamAPI all the DLC and only buy the base game from keysites)
Something is missing compared to WH2
It should have all of WH2 and more therefore be better but it aint
>Something is missing compared to WH2
The difficulty. Warhammer 3 on Very Hard plays like Warhammer 2 on Normal, you encounter one "big" resistance of two armies at most when you first invade, then you win and the AI never recovers.
What do you guys think is going to happen with ToD? Will it be good? Will it be delayed? Will they decrease the price for it and/or add more value?
Personally if you asked me three months ago when the SoC debacle was still happening, I'd probably say that ToD would release the same way SoC did. But after the two massive flops that were Pharaoh and Hyenas CA is looking extremely vulnerable right now and all bets are off.
It was meant for the end of 2023 and there's no announcement so its definitely getting delayed.
I feel the consumer reaction to ToD will tell CA whether 3 is worth continuing development on or not. I hope they walk back on the price change but I'm not expecting it.

ToD is delayed because they're going to add more content to SoC to make it "worth" the price, and also make ToD bigger because they will not lower the price for it either. CA desperately needs to get back people's willingness to buy the DLC because they know damn well they're dead if that doesn't happen, so its now or never to deliver on it, their literal existence is on the line with this one.
>they're going to add more content to SoC to make it "worth" the price
I got it for 14$ from cdkeys and I'm pretty sure CA doesn't see a single cent from that. Adding more stuff to it will just be the icing on the cake, win win for everyone except CA. ToD though, that's gonna be a hard fricking sell for them because I'm pretty sure a lot of people are rather sick of Empire and Dawi and paying 25$ for a couple of Nurgle units is not ideal.
>I'm pretty sure a lot of people are rather sick of Empire and Dawi
The fricking opposite though? Dwarfs play the exact same since warhammer 1, and the Empire is falling apart and needs a complete rework. Literally the only two races more in need of a rework are vampire Counts and Lizardmen, if ToD doesn't deliver HARD on people's expectations then CA is truly done for and they have to fricking know this by now.
>Dwarfs play the exact same since warhammer 1
Sure but no amount of rework will change their fundamental "sit in one place" playstyle. Best they can do and probably should do is overhaul a lot of their campaign mechanics but even then, I've no idea how. >Literally the only two races more in need of a rework are Vampire Counts and Lizardmen
You have LM as the prime candidate. Norsca is in a shit place. Nurgle is in a shittier place but that's supposedly getting addressed. Ogres are above and beyond the worst race right now. Vampirates are in a weird spot too. I feel like the Empire is in a better place than those.
>Sure but no amount of rework will change their fundamental "sit in one place" playstyle
In the battlefield, sure, they're not going to change, but in the campaign map grudges need a massive overhaul and a reclaiming lost holds and rebuilding the Karaz Ankor mechanic should be present. But really its just grudges that are need of a big rework, you need to be able to sack cities you're at peace or allied with if a grudge gets so severe that it demands so but without needing to declare war on the entire faction to do it, obviously relations will suffer hard but its not unheard of in lore that it has happened, hell fricking Volkmar has sacked Kislev before in lore and yet the two nations are still in an alliance despite that.

I feel like this would require a big diplomacy overhaul. We're still at the point where the AI will never ever accept peace even if it's on its last settlement and no armies. It's a big leap from that to allowing battle engagements without war.

I'm not sure how extremely tangled up the diplomacy code is, but a grudge that sets a target to be sacked/killed can just temporarily turn the city/army "neutral" to the player and the "war actions against us" diplomatic penalty is already a thing that exists anyway.
Your main complaint is attrition? The thing the AI cheats away entirely in all three Warhammer games and even before in Attila? Your entire argument hinges on the fact that you have to be playing Noctilus?
>noctilus
You can do it with any faction that can spread chaos corruption or vampire corruption. Its fricking horrid that something this basic isn't addressed.
>shit on historic audience >get omega lucky with releasing their niche monopolised genre game into a global pandemic (warhammer 2) >make an absolute killing >invest none of it back into their core playerbase, which again they have completely captive in a cornered market >shit on fantasy audience with buggy underfeatured warhammer 3 launch, including bugs and mechanics that were fixed 2 games ago >release meh DLC but charge the price they charged for a full race pack THIS YEAR >directly call the audience entitled and whiny when they rightfully complain >ban users for criticising game on steam >meanwhile all that warhammer 2 capital got invested into a fricking ZOOMER CHARACTER LOOTER SHOOTER (hyenas) >it's so shit and has such a shitty reception that SEGA overlords cancel it a month from release rather than take the reputation hit >SEGA takes a fricking scythe to the company because it's become a bloated mess that keeps fricking everything up >same managers still in charge tho
>>shit on historic audience
Don't need to read a single word further. Histoids not having killed themselves yet is indicative only of their stubbornness, not their values or virtues.
I don't know what it is. I loved 1 and 2, but 3 has been shit since it launched. I had a terrible time playing it. I gave it a break for a few months and then the whole drama happened between then. Figured I'd give it another go to see if anything changed and even with the added content, it still feels like shit and I agree with everyone else, that it's not worth the money. Glad I pirated the DLC's I could find.
The whole setting of TW3 is unattractive. I got it during the sale and CREAMAPI'd but still havent cared to try it much,
Compared to TW2 which brought Elves, Lizardmen, Rats, etc. which was pretty good content, this just has Chaos (which we already kinda had) and gimmick shit.
I opened it and tested one of the Chaos factions and I mostly just felt like going back to TW2
2bh family its the 4 flavors of chaos that the game brought that really bring it down.
Kislev was OK before they went all in on le ebin bear and ice memes, Cathay was actually kinda neat. But the fact that this one had to be the chaos focused game just sullies it.
At least chaos dwarfs are neat if hilariously OP
Yuan Bo is the spymaster of Cathay and he needs to be perfect or else he'd suck at his job and the nation would be at risk. That doesn't make him an interesting character, no, but it makes sense that he'd be that way.

same as Mew Mew except it's shown she's a caring aloof twat which is compelling

The problem with judge, jury, and executioner spymaster characters is they have to be supremely perfect and psychopathic or else you'd have to wonder how the nation isn't being subverted so easily by chaos. Yuan Bo is basically the iron fist Big Brother of Cathay that keeps the populace in check through fear and assassination, but he has to be perfect at this job or else you'd have to wonder why the populace hasn't revolted against him yet.
I just cant bring myself to play it

Still absolutely mogged that shitty AoS game
I gave up on it, then that new Lizardman dino mod came out and holy shit I am haing a fricking blast with the new units.
Do you play the Jurassic Park theme during fights?
The Lost World theme fit a lot better.
am so sad the coolest looking race has the most boring campaign mechanic
There are so many great mods but 4.1 broke my modlist and troubleshooting 500 mods is so tiresome with no actual crashlog.
they ruined Cathay

Watch the added content be the 2 generic generals and heroes missing from the SoC DLC lmao
AI is shit in WH3, that's what's missing. WH2 didn't have amazing AI either but much better than this abomination in 3.
What's the difference between 2 and 3's AI besides not being able to field 4 and a half full stacks off of one minor settlement anymore?
3 AI doesn't know what attrition is. They literally just park outside my Galleon's Graveyard and die slowly.
So the same as in 2.
Nope, never did it in 2 and if they did enter it they would run away. So no.
So you never played any faction that causes attrition other than the 1 you are complaining about.
Completely irrelevant to the point.
Your main complaint is attrition? The thing the AI cheats away entirely in all three Warhammer games and even before in Attila? Your entire argument hinges on the fact that you have to be playing Noctilus?
That was just one example Bartholomew.
>but other games also!!!
Frick of CA cuck, everyone is boycotting you
>That was just one example
So keep them coming or just admit you've got warhammer fatigue and are looking for excuses.
So you have 1 reason for why 3 is worse than 2. 1. A single thing that happened once in one of your games.
>noctilus

Told a friend to hold off the purchase on release, and I'll tell him when they fix it up enough to buy it.
He is still waiting.
I would play it more often if it didn't run like shit. Wish it was possible for them to implement DLSS and frame generation
CA absolutely SPEEDRUNNING bankruptcy.
>shit on historic audience
>get omega lucky with releasing their niche monopolised genre game into a global pandemic (warhammer 2)

>directly call the audience entitled and whiny when they rightfully complain
>ban users for criticising game on steam
>meanwhile all that warhammer 2 capital got invested into a fricking ZOOMER CHARACTER LOOTER SHOOTER (hyenas)

Favorite mod that makes magic more fun in the campaign?

I liked Cathay siblings because they were flawed so far (yin yin as Aqua) but the new LL is boringly perfect
Spymasters usually are or else they'd be horrible at their jobs.
???????
Yuan Bo is the spymaster of Cathay and he needs to be perfect or else he'd suck at his job and the nation would be at risk. That doesn't make him an interesting character, no, but it makes sense that he'd be that way.

This is the only game I actually boycot. Its fricking insane the greed they have for these shitty DLC's
good thing they never bothered to counter creamapi
