Why would they buy them? Not only are they shovelware developers they work exclusively for sony anyway.
Sony was probably happy with their remakes and because they did remakes up until now they probably didn't cost as much as other devs to aquire, buy studio for cheap, studio puts out games that sell etc.
This isn't a net gain for sony though. Before they could just commission them a pittance to make a game but now they have to pay them a regular salary regardless. Not to mention their game quality won't improve either.
Again Bluepoint was 'known' more for remakes up until now so as a whole compare to other studios they bought like say Insomiac or Naughty dog Bluepoint was probably far less to acquire and they can expect better returns if they do something 'annoying' like say only have them remake games they know will sell well like more souls games but it sounds like they'll let them do their own thing between larger projects. I'm already getting a flash back to the Bluepoint studio head 'mistakenly' getting people's hopes up when he said on twitter some time ago: 'Do you like Legend of Dragoon? I do.' But who knows what will happen know. I just hope by now Jim has pulled that 'hurr why would people want to play old games' stick out of his ass, maybe they'll let them remake some of their old cult following games.

Bluepoint is the only developer who gets the Soulsborne concept so I expect great things from them.

The Demon's Souls remake is easily as good as any of the From Software's Soulborne titles; meanwhile every single Soulslike made by any other developer has been irredeemable dogshit.

RE2R and RE3R are modern remakes made by Capcom itself and suck shit even when they used a classic game as base.
Meanwhile Bluepoint actually brought Demon's Souls to a new age while allowing the game to keep its soul.

Well, it's a remake. It's intended to share the same soul as the original and Bluepoint succeeded, unlike the Resident Evil demakes or Warcraft deforged.
The fact they managed to actually modernize a classic game without ruining it shows how good Bluepoint is.
Althought i agree (with the exception of the botched art), remaking a game and making one from scratch are two different beasts. Nothing indicates they can yet.
