Eeltail tricolor is actually fun as hell, best map so far.

I think they were fine. They only ink in a circle and break in 1 shot so I don't see the problem with them being strong for the entire duration. Seems like an unnecessary nerf.
I remember putting a sprinkler on the very top of Walleye Warehouse and no one could bring it down if there was no charger.

How does Tri Color work if there's no multipliers?
I always figured that the team with less populatiry got more multiplier matches to make up for their lesser overall matches played.
But if tri color doesn't have that I don't see how a team as dead as fame could ever win
I think if you're on the team in the lead you get a bonus for winning defense and if you're a team that isn't in the lead you get a bonus for winning offense.
There's no need to compensate for the least popular team playing fewer matches because the more popular teams are just going to mirror match eachother, which doesn't earn them any clout.

I don't know why it would remove the other two idols if you use a random amiibo, it just spawns that character next to you so you can take a picture wherever you happen to be.
In splatoon 2, the OtH amiibo they eventually added allowed you to stand on stage with either pearl or marina to take a photo with them. In splat 3, you can't do that with Callie or Marie during a splatfest, so it's unclear if they will add that functionality to the deep cut figures.

Big Man's implementation is general is kinda sad. He looks great in the promo art but he's practically T-Posing 90% of the time in game.
Having to animate a large sheet of paper with a face is an unenviable job.
Nintendo has always had trouble animating weird characters in 3D. Yoshi and Bowser are probably the two biggest examples; Bowser's face doesn't even fricking do any kind of emoting beyond opening/closing his mouth in 90% of the 3D mario games.

We're already at the 1 year anniversary next month. They ain't fixing shit
Yeah... I know. It's just hard to believe how well Splatoon 1 and 2 were supported and when things weren't right Nintendo would listen to feedback and try to fix things, but here Splatoon 3 just keeps flopping around without any clear idea of what it wants to do. At least Salmon Run has been pretty solid, but I might reconsider buying the next game in the series if the trend continues.

Nah the playable inklings are still 14, it the ones Splatoon 1 and 2 that are getting older. I think it's just a slight art style change with each game. I prefer their more pudgy look from one. Stuff like the bobble hat looks cute with those proportions but looks stupid on current cephs.

We did have some decent games, I must admit. But it still felt like pulling teeth. This was easily the least fun tricolor by a wide margin. Should've just defaulted to the triforce one or whatever. Man, even Mincemeat was better than this.
Last tri color was great, and hopefully next tri is just as good.
Was not expecting Barnacle and Dime to be that quality, especially on tricolor. Felt perfectly manageable on both sides, there was a lot of fun to be had there.

As a lovegay, I've gotten a single non-mirror match after all this time. It was in tricolor, and even though both teams stole the signal we still beat their asses with 44.4% Yeah I'm feeling pretty confident

I really wish this series had good netcode too, between the low tickrate and shitty mcdonald's wifi of most players, the playing experience is largely crap. Such a shame as nothing plays ike it yet the whole series still suffers from shitty online 8 years later.

The last good splatfest was the zelda one and that's mostly because some small effort was put in for a unique map. I legitimately hope this game's playerbase drops like a stone for how poor support has been and how shit they made splatfests in 3, the devs deserve a wake up call.
The support has been great for Salmon Run
I only half-agree, king salmonid releases have been slow - it would've been decent if the first content drop introduced the first big run and new king, but it took another 2(?) months for that to happen.
Eh, I agree that while the start was somewhat slow, we have been getting a steady stream of new stuff every update. Returning map, new King, new map. I'm expecting an old map to return with the next season. And let's not forget that Salmon Run actually is getting good weapon balance updates. Dynamo is now a monster, Snipewriter went from one of the worst to one of the best chargers, Big Swig actually rolls over Chum now, all the brellas are actually solid if not great and I'm probably forgetting a few. If they keep this buffing of shit weapons up, maybe eventually every weapon in Salmon Run is at least a solid option.
They probably should, even though I loathe the game mode. It's at least separate from the normal rotations.
the chill season update was really shit, this isn't even in retrospect it was a poor update drop for the time that felt disappointing. At least the fresh and sizzle updates were significantly better than chill's nothingburger update. If chill season actually got the ball rolling early with actual substancial content then the game would be in a much better place now.
They should really do more eggstraworks though.
