This is cope. Tacticooler is a great special and N-Zap has a nice Sticky bomb as well. It's a very well rounded weapon here, but without the tacticooler it wouldn't be as useful. Doesn't matter whether it's a "crutch" or not, that's just a contrarian way of saying it's better than other weapons.

Most people probably don't even know it's going on. Challenges have to have extremely low participation rates, especially these do-over ones.
The routes that high jump adds are great. They should just be added into the maps they're on permanently. Just make some of the grates on Umammi be grated ramps.
The one statement they've made on map design since launch was basically nothing, they've never properly explained why the design philosophy changed so much for 3 to limit approach options.
Even if most of these maps are boring and shitty the simple addition of a few inkable walls would go a long way towards improving them for effectively zero effort.
The fish grinder stages in 3 aren't particularly interesting, but I still have fun on them regardless. Hopefully the Drizzle Season stages have a little more pizazz to them, though I'm happy with new maps regardless.
Also, there was evidence in the 4.1 update that plaza posting may be possible without a Twitter account in the future. I hope this would help clean a lot of the trash from the plaza if implemented well.
the current map design philosophy is ingrained into Splatoon 3, it's too late to change course and heavily modify half the map pool. The important thing to keep in mind is that they're now aware that everyone is talking about (and shitting on) 3's maps so there's still hope for 4.

The match making in this game punishes you extremely harshly for not sticking to a main. Even the supposedly casual mode has a hidden MMR so you can rest assured that you're going to be fighting people playing their best weapons at all times.
We're all on the same page buddy. Let's see how we feel after this big run + big deep cut splatfest. I imagine a sizeable number of people are gonna be taking a little break after that until the next season. Think I can get most of my catalogue done with the extra experience from big run + splatfest, then grind back my S+ rank real fast
I'm on my 4th catalogue, but this argument that "I don't need updates" is flawed for Splatoon because the game is released half empty with the guarantee that updates will be added over time. That's the model of Splatoon. It's not a full game on release. The dripfeed IS the content, and when that's lacking, it turns people off. The seasonal model is not working out that great as it keeps most people entertained for a week or two and then you get nothing but a "mid season" balance patch (that's more like a 2/3 season balance patch as it comes towards the end). This seasonal model is just stale as hell.
There are a lot of problems with the game right now. I think the game is fun, gameplay is solid, but I can understand why people aren't having fun and why many have already stopped playing the game. I'm getting ready to drop it myself as the rough edges are detracting from the experience for me and things are getting stale. I'm not a fan of how they're balancing these weapon kits and how few we're getting. I'm not a fan of the stage design. I'm not a fan of how slow they are to roll out content with this game. After a year of lackluster updates, and a very rough and tumble launch this game just feels halfassed in so many ways. Just a lot of missed potential with this series in general.

If splatoon was a full game at release and got all of its dripfeed content at release, and then maybe one big update later on, it would be a different story, but that's not how these games are. I concede that side order not being finished in time for the 1 year anniversary is the most disappointing thing about drizzle 2023. I honestly don't care about it having an insignificantly smaller amount of new gear as that graph demonstrates.
There are 2 new maps, which no previous season can lay claim to, but I think everyone dismisses them by default because there's no faith in the map deisgn.

These seasons have already been low on content. In the beginning people told us to wait out, and that after they clean things up, and after they fix tricolor mode, then certainly we'd start getting more new stuff. The chill seasons was the peak. And then each season we basically got less and less. For the anniversary season, people were expecting something more, a blowout, maybe "the big update", but that's not what we got. Two levels is still the same amount of levels we normally get, and while it's nice that one is new, why couldn't they have done two new and one old? Just *something* a little more. Why LESS weapon kits than ever before? Shouldn't we be getting more? And the weapon kits themselves are mostly disappointing. Many weapons still haven't received a second kit and we're at the year mark. That's not just about how you decorate your inkling with gear, that affects the gameplay. The maps haven't been fixed. Challenges suck fricking ass. The matchmaking is still shit. At least the weapon balance is okay, but it's just that, OKAY. It's not broken like it was in two, but there are many things that still need help. I at least like the direction they're going with buffing ink vac, and buffing zooka, and trying to buff things like sprinkler and the line marker but still many things seem undertuned, other things have been abandoned outright.
But the solution is? Oh just wait, and things will get better. But they haven't. We're just getting less and less over time and it makes people feel like the devs don't really care about this game, and they'd probably be right. The same amount of effort that went into previous Splatoon's is not going here and I don't think that's up for debate.

Alright let's break each one of these down. >salmon
Salmon run has been fleshed out, but beyond the first addition of the King salmonid cohozuna, and the bosses, we're not really getting much new content here. The shops don't update frequently. There will have been only one new king salmonid added after a year+, and as of the one year mark there will have been more returning stages than new at this point. There's some effort being put here, but in 2, ALL of that stuff was new. The entire mode was new. ALL new content. Most of Salmon Run in 3 is copy pasted, that's not up for debate. Just slightly tweaked and made available, with the addition of kings, that's the major new feature here. But we're not getting a new king when many people thought we were. >Table turf
Requires hardly any resources and was likely made by a team of interns. Squid beats level. No 3d models required, just 2d pngs for the cards and very simple AI that was programmed at the beginning. The only effort they've put into it is adding new cards which would take very, VERY little resources, and making it available to be played online with friends/pools (but still not random queues, so that's not much of a priority it seems). All in all I really dont think there's much resources being put here. >Multiplayer
Half of the specials returning to this game are copy and pasted from 2, as are half of the levels from 2 and 1. There have been no new modes added to the multiplayer. Now this is a new mode, but unfortunately there's only been ONE per season, and let's not pretend like this is anything special other than just the same salmon run we know, except instead of being randomized, it's the same thing over and over. That's not a revolutionary new mode that's going to require a ton of resources. It's on the same levels, with the same enemies bosses. They can just reuse all of the content that's already in the game. Now this is cool right. This definitely takes more resources than eggstra work, because they have to retool the multiplayer levels. And yet, that's all they're doing. All it is is just salmon run on a multiplayer level that already exists, just slightly tweaked. Now I'm sure there's some testing involved to make sure the spawns work and what have you. This is one of the only excusable things in this list that probably takes up a reasonable amount of resources and is actually a cool new addition in this game, so we'll let big run slide here. But even at its core, it's a simple mode that just revolves around egg collecting and getting a high score with eggs. No new waves or enemies or mechanics. It's the same salmon run that you know from before. So it literally just is salmon run on multiplayer levels, moving on to our final point. >splatfests
Not only are splatfests less frequent than previous games, but they CLEARLY have less effort than what we were getting with shifty stations. We got a new fest every month with a new level with a new unique gimmick, every month. Splatfests happen now every other month it seems, and while they last two days instead of one, tricolor has not been a well implemented mode. Clearly resources have gone into trying to *fix* the mode, but it's not really fixed. The effort is less. Zeldafest was the exception here.

The info they’ve been dropping has strayed from the norm. Usually it starts with the new maps and SR events, and the new kits being interlaced with other info, with things like catalog close to last.
This time though, instead they started with stuff like the catalog and the miscellaneous gear adjustments, then just dropped all the kits straight with nothing alongside them.
What that leaves us with is info on tableturf, lockers, the 2 new maps, and the new band. This would be 5 pieces of info which would fit perfectly for the upcoming weekdays up to release one by one. But when dropping info it’s never just one single tweet, it’s usually 2-3
With this it either means >There’s more stuff to show off that wasn’t in the trailer

The reason is because they don’t release any brand-new gear outside of catalogs. We haven’t gotten anything new with shop updates, just old stuff making a return. Each brand only got maybe 1-2 brand new gear for each gear slot this game but nothing else, leading to very little new stuff in comparison to the old stuff
And this especially hurts the newer brands Barazushi and Emberz since they have only a small handful of gear but hardly get any more added. Even with what we’re getting next season is mostly just recolors. It’s still impossible to get their gold badges

I don’t people even notice the lack of brand-new stuff, only the lack of old stuff and their favorite gear not returning. Honestly I wish people did care about the lack of new, cause it takes away from S3’s identity. I’m sure people wouldn’t mind if there were some handful of old gear missing that was added later if there was actually plenty of new stuff that substituted it instead
S2 had plenty of new stuff, from specials to gear to the entirety of SR, it really gave it a whole new feel separate from S1. But with 3 there’s little in the way of “new” with how much is pulled from the previous entries, so it has that “more of the same” feel to it. Obviously bring back the fan-favs, but don’t pass off old content as if it’s new, give me something I haven’t played/seen before.

Salmon run was ALL NEW!
And this game came two years after Splatoon 1 on the Wii U, on an entire console. And they added all this new stuff! It really felt like a new game, even if it was a little barren release. It was understandable why the game was half baked and rushed, because they wanted a new splatoon game at release. Okay, that's fine. Over time they put more effort into the game and the DLC was great. Maybe the weapon balance was horribly managed, alright. But all in all Splatoon 2 had its own identity and felt like a new game.
Splatoon 3 doesn't get any of the excuses that Splat 2 got. It's on the same system, later in the console's life span, so there was no real reason to rush it, right? Well, unless they felt like they needed to squeeze it in the last two years of the switch's life before the new console comes out.
People wanted a Splat game for once that felt more polished, that felt more fleshed out, and they wanted the series to grow. Splat 3 hasn't pushed the series forward in any way, like the way 2 did. It hasn't really brought anything new to the table asides from some QOL stuff and very minor things like Squid roll which while it affects the gameplay, the new stuff in 3 is just lacking, and there is objectively less new stuff than we got in previous games. And it doesn't help that the actual new stuff like challenges haven't been implemented all that great. And three way splatfests have just been a mess overall. Many things about this game's execution have just been flawed and i'm tired of hearing people make excuses for it.
2 had some justifiable excuses. 1 had some justifiable excuses, but at least with 1 EVERYTHING was fricking shiny and new. Arguably they never put as much effort into splatoon since the first game, because even 2 had a heavy amount of asset reuse, and 3 has an even heavier amount. It just fricking sucks how they're handling this series.

Conchs and Popularity used to be worth more, now they're way less significant.
Problem is the popular team tends to win at least a battle category or two as well so that still makes it pretty strong.
The problem comes from the fact that popularity and conch aren't actually separate points. Excluding the first splatfest if you are the most popular team you have 100% chance of also winning the sneak peek

It's hard to believe I finished like 6 catalogues season 1 and barely crawled across the finish line for the most recent season, despite season 1 having the fewest things to do.
I’m entitely aware this is just a skill issue but once you get to a certain rank (in my case Profreshional +1) it becomes nearly fricking unplayable. For every game I win, I lose 5.
It’s even worse because I’m trying to grind silver scales (which have treated me relatively nicely, giving me one silver scale per boss encounter (knock on wood)) but godDAMN. While losses fill up the meter faster it doesn’t mean JACKSHIT when you lose every round with a near-guaranteed boss encounter on it. It’s not even like the teams I’m getting are exceptionally shitty, either. We constantly get overwhelmed because there are so many fricking bosses onscreen.
But I could excuse ALL of this if the weapon rotations weren’t SO DOGSHIT. On their own the weapons are fine but for Salmon Run? They suck. Even worse when half of them are automatically made worse by being put in my hands. Rollers?? Fricking ROLLERS???? in SALMON RUN?? This isn’t even an “i can’t use rollers” thing i’m pretty decent with them but I genuinely believe rollers are the absolute WORST weapon class for Salmon Run considering most of the bosses require you to aim upwards and this is ENTIRELY unhelped by how slow the vertical flick speeds are. Good god
and don’t even get me started on the motherfricking scale rates. They either need to lower scale prices or (preferably) increase drop rates. Now, I’m not saying or expecting we get 50 scales of each type per every encounter and I’m actually really ok with bronze scale rates because it’s roughly 10 per encounter but 1 silver scale sometimes? 1 gold scale per 50 fricking games?? (exaggerating those obviously aren’t actual rates) completely bullshit, gold scales especially. in one of the trailers for the upcoming season they revealed an item going for 30 FRICKING GOLD SCALES

I'm not good at SR as I don't play it, but profresh 1 is snore tier difficulty. Only problem is you also get booger eating profresh 1 teammates so you can't trust them to do anything.
Apparently you would be one of those teammates, so I would recommend maybe watching some good SR gameplay to get a better general sense of what you're supposed to be doing, especially you should try to learn what the roles of the weapons are. If they're a boss killer, chum clearer, egg carrier, whatever else, and also remember that even if that is your role, much like PVP, it isn't rigid. There's only four of you and you'll have to just gain the game sense to understand what is required of you in that moment.

It was the same for me until last gold rotation, now I have 3. Still not enough to unlock rest of the shop.
I haven't let myself drop out of EVP in a long time (even if it means not getting all bonuses in a rotation), but I know I'm just not very good at it.
But things DO get easier in EVP. Profresh is literal hell. While there are many shitters in EVP, most of them stilldo get filtered by Profresh, and if your start playing right when rotation starts you have a big chance of hooking up with good freelance team that will not so much carry you, but be good enough to keep things under control collectively and give room to breathe.
I had people tell me repeatedly that to get good you need to keep playing even if it means deranking from EVP, but I did that once and it was a terrible fricking and counterproductive idea, getting repeatedly wiped in wave 1 for entire evening because no one can play for shit won't help anyone get better. Playing with better players will.
And deranking to "easily farm scales" is a shitty meme too except for maybe the top 5% of folks who can singlehandedly carry a team of shitters and get back to EVP whenever they need.

Why is the matchmaking for challenges so shit? I'm over 2000 challenge power regularly getting paired with teams at 1700 or so. I'm getting no points.

Most people probably don't even know it's going on. Challenges have to have extremely low participation rates, especially these do-over ones.
Turns out have only 3 two hour shifts at times picked specifically for Japanese players does not cause much engagement.
A majority of the people playing probably don't even bother with challenges cause of that.

The routes that high jump adds are great. They should just be added into the maps they're on permanently. Just make some of the grates on Umammi be grated ramps.
The one statement they've made on map design since launch was basically nothing, they've never properly explained why the design philosophy changed so much for 3 to limit approach options.
Even if most of these maps are boring and shitty the simple addition of a few inkable walls would go a long way towards improving them for effectively zero effort.
The fish grinder stages in 3 aren't particularly interesting, but I still have fun on them regardless. Hopefully the Drizzle Season stages have a little more pizazz to them, though I'm happy with new maps regardless.
Also, there was evidence in the 4.1 update that plaza posting may be possible without a Twitter account in the future. I hope this would help clean a lot of the trash from the plaza if implemented well.
the current map design philosophy is ingrained into Splatoon 3, it's too late to change course and heavily modify half the map pool. The important thing to keep in mind is that they're now aware that everyone is talking about (and shitting on) 3's maps so there's still hope for 4.

The match making in this game punishes you extremely harshly for not sticking to a main. Even the supposedly casual mode has a hidden MMR so you can rest assured that you're going to be fighting people playing their best weapons at all times.

I'm on my 4th catalogue, but this argument that "I don't need updates" is flawed for Splatoon because the game is released half empty with the guarantee that updates will be added over time. That's the model of Splatoon. It's not a full game on release. The dripfeed IS the content, and when that's lacking, it turns people off. The seasonal model is not working out that great as it keeps most people entertained for a week or two and then you get nothing but a "mid season" balance patch (that's more like a 2/3 season balance patch as it comes towards the end). This seasonal model is just stale as hell.
There are a lot of problems with the game right now. I think the game is fun, gameplay is solid, but I can understand why people aren't having fun and why many have already stopped playing the game. I'm getting ready to drop it myself as the rough edges are detracting from the experience for me and things are getting stale. I'm not a fan of how they're balancing these weapon kits and how few we're getting. I'm not a fan of the stage design. I'm not a fan of how slow they are to roll out content with this game. After a year of lackluster updates, and a very rough and tumble launch this game just feels halfassed in so many ways. Just a lot of missed potential with this series in general.

Okay but that's literally not the model of Splatoon.
If splatoon was a full game at release and got all of its dripfeed content at release, and then maybe one big update later on, it would be a different story, but that's not how these games are. They're structured around the dripfeed. They are not complete games at release. There's no excuse for why we should be getting less new content than previous Splatoon games.

Splatoon has been a live service game since its inception and has zero content on release. Would you really be content with any base splatoon game if it never got an update? They're not complete games on release, and by all accounts, Splat 3 isn't a complete game, as it's still missing half of its promised content which is trickling out at a snail's pace. Turns out there's not much new shit there at all! So why release a new game if it's mostly just going to be repackaged content from the old games?

Most of the "new" stuff we've got in Splat 3 isn't new at all. It's returning shit. We're hardly getting any new gear. We're getting less kits than ever before, and at the rate we're going we're not even going to get third kits before the two years of support are over.

I concede that side order not being finished in time for the 1 year anniversary is the most disappointing thing about drizzle 2023. I honestly don't care about it having an insignificantly smaller amount of new gear as that graph demonstrates.
There are 2 new maps, which no previous season can lay claim to, but I think everyone dismisses them by default because there's no faith in the map deisgn.
People are just burning out, there have been threads basically non stop since Love vs Money whereas Splatoon threads were very slow or were just porn dumps for months beforehand.
These seasons have already been low on content. In the beginning people told us to wait out, and that after they clean things up, and after they fix tricolor mode, then certainly we'd start getting more new stuff. The chill seasons was the peak. And then each season we basically got less and less. For the anniversary season, people were expecting something more, a blowout, maybe "the big update", but that's not what we got. Two levels is still the same amount of levels we normally get, and while it's nice that one is new, why couldn't they have done two new and one old? Just *something* a little more. Why LESS weapon kits than ever before? Shouldn't we be getting more? And the weapon kits themselves are mostly disappointing. Many weapons still haven't received a second kit and we're at the year mark. That's not just about how you decorate your inkling with gear, that affects the gameplay. The maps haven't been fixed. Challenges suck fricking ass. The matchmaking is still shit. At least the weapon balance is okay, but it's just that, OKAY. It's not broken like it was in two, but there are many things that still need help. I at least like the direction they're going with buffing ink vac, and buffing zooka, and trying to buff things like sprinkler and the line marker but still many things seem undertuned, other things have been abandoned outright.
But the solution is? Oh just wait, and things will get better. But they haven't. We're just getting less and less over time and it makes people feel like the devs don't really care about this game, and they'd probably be right. The same amount of effort that went into previous Splatoon's is not going here and I don't think that's up for debate.

Alright let's break each one of these down.

Salmon run has been fleshed out, but beyond the first addition of the King salmonid cohozuna, and the bosses, we're not really getting much new content here. The shops don't update frequently. There will have been only one new king salmonid added after a year+, and as of the one year mark there will have been more returning stages than new at this point. There's some effort being put here, but in 2, ALL of that stuff was new. The entire mode was new. ALL new content. Most of Salmon Run in 3 is copy pasted, that's not up for debate. Just slightly tweaked and made available, with the addition of kings, that's the major new feature here. But we're not getting a new king when many people thought we were.
>Table turf
Requires hardly any resources and was likely made by a team of interns. Squid beats level. No 3d models required, just 2d pngs for the cards and very simple AI that was programmed at the beginning. The only effort they've put into it is adding new cards which would take very, VERY little resources, and making it available to be played online with friends/pools (but still not random queues, so that's not much of a priority it seems). All in all I really dont think there's much resources being put here.

Half of the specials returning to this game are copy and pasted from 2, as are half of the levels from 2 and 1. There have been no new modes added to the multiplayer. Turf wars is the same, ranked is mostly the same. But even 2 got a new mode in Clam Blitz and X battle. The only new mode is challenges, so let's do that now.

Now this is a new mode, but unfortunately there's only been ONE per season, and let's not pretend like this is anything special other than just the same salmon run we know, except instead of being randomized, it's the same thing over and over. That's not a revolutionary new mode that's going to require a ton of resources. It's on the same levels, with the same enemies bosses. They can just reuse all of the content that's already in the game. That surely can't take that much man hours, but the fact that we're getting so little eggstra work makes it sting just a little bit more.

Now this is cool right. This definitely takes more resources than eggstra work, because they have to retool the multiplayer levels. And yet, that's all they're doing. All it is is just salmon run on a multiplayer level that already exists, just slightly tweaked. Now I'm sure there's some testing involved to make sure the spawns work and what have you. This is one of the only excusable things in this list that probably takes up a reasonable amount of resources and is actually a cool new addition in this game, so we'll let big run slide here. But even at its core, it's a simple mode that just revolves around egg collecting and getting a high score with eggs. No new waves or enemies or mechanics. It's the same salmon run that you know from before. So it literally just is salmon run on multiplayer levels, moving on to our final point.

Not only are splatfests less frequent than previous games, but they CLEARLY have less effort than what we were getting with shifty stations. We got a new fest every month with a new level with a new unique gimmick, every month. Splatfests happen now every other month it seems, and while they last two days instead of one, tricolor has not been a well implemented mode. Clearly resources have gone into trying to *fix* the mode, but it's not really fixed. The effort is less. Zeldafest was the exception here.

The fricked up thing about Eggstra is both seasons it was in they said it'd be 1-2 shifts. And it was 1 both times.

They'll probably mention Eggstra Work before the start of the season. Probably on Grounds if the pattern holds.
The info they’ve been dropping has strayed from the norm. Usually it starts with the new maps and SR events, and the new kits being interlaced with other info, with things like catalog close to last.
This time though, instead they started with stuff like the catalog and the miscellaneous gear adjustments, then just dropped all the kits straight with nothing alongside them.
What that leaves us with is info on tableturf, lockers, the 2 new maps, and the new band. This would be 5 pieces of info which would fit perfectly for the upcoming weekdays up to release one by one. But when dropping info it’s never just one single tweet, it’s usually 2-3
With this it either means

The reason is because they don’t release any brand-new gear outside of catalogs. We haven’t gotten anything new with shop updates, just old stuff making a return. Each brand only got maybe 1-2 brand new gear for each gear slot this game but nothing else, leading to very little new stuff in comparison to the old stuff
And this especially hurts the newer brands Barazushi and Emberz since they have only a small handful of gear but hardly get any more added. Even with what we’re getting next season is mostly just recolors. It’s still impossible to get their gold badges

I don’t people even notice the lack of brand-new stuff, only the lack of old stuff and their favorite gear not returning. Honestly I wish people did care about the lack of new, cause it takes away from S3’s identity. I’m sure people wouldn’t mind if there were some handful of old gear missing that was added later if there was actually plenty of new stuff that substituted it instead
S2 had plenty of new stuff, from specials to gear to the entirety of SR, it really gave it a whole new feel separate from S1. But with 3 there’s little in the way of “new” with how much is pulled from the previous entries, so it has that “more of the same” feel to it. Obviously bring back the fan-favs, but don’t pass off old content as if it’s new, give me something I haven’t played/seen before.
Not to mention that Splatoon 2 moved on to third kits a year and 2 months later while not even having all of the base weapons return at launch unlike 3. At this rate, it would be a year and 9 months for that to happen in 3

Salmon run was ALL NEW!
And this game came two years after Splatoon 1 on the Wii U, on an entire console. And they added all this new stuff! It really felt like a new game, even if it was a little barren release. It was understandable why the game was half baked and rushed, because they wanted a new splatoon game at release. Okay, that's fine. Over time they put more effort into the game and the DLC was great. Maybe the weapon balance was horribly managed, alright. But all in all Splatoon 2 had its own identity and felt like a new game.
Splatoon 3 doesn't get any of the excuses that Splat 2 got. It's on the same system, later in the console's life span, so there was no real reason to rush it, right? Well, unless they felt like they needed to squeeze it in the last two years of the switch's life before the new console comes out.
People wanted a Splat game for once that felt more polished, that felt more fleshed out, and they wanted the series to grow. Splat 3 hasn't pushed the series forward in any way, like the way 2 did. It hasn't really brought anything new to the table asides from some QOL stuff and very minor things like Squid roll which while it affects the gameplay, the new stuff in 3 is just lacking, and there is objectively less new stuff than we got in previous games. And it doesn't help that the actual new stuff like challenges haven't been implemented all that great. And three way splatfests have just been a mess overall. Many things about this game's execution have just been flawed and i'm tired of hearing people make excuses for it.
2 had some justifiable excuses. 1 had some justifiable excuses, but at least with 1 EVERYTHING was fricking shiny and new. Arguably they never put as much effort into splatoon since the first game, because even 2 had a heavy amount of asset reuse, and 3 has an even heavier amount. It just fricking sucks how they're handling this series.

I’m entitely aware this is just a skill issue but once you get to a certain rank (in my case Profreshional +1) it becomes nearly fricking unplayable. For every game I win, I lose 5.
It’s even worse because I’m trying to grind silver scales (which have treated me relatively nicely, giving me one silver scale per boss encounter (knock on wood)) but godDAMN. While losses fill up the meter faster it doesn’t mean JACKSHIT when you lose every round with a near-guaranteed boss encounter on it. It’s not even like the teams I’m getting are exceptionally shitty, either. We constantly get overwhelmed because there are so many fricking bosses onscreen.
But I could excuse ALL of this if the weapon rotations weren’t SO DOGSHIT. On their own the weapons are fine but for Salmon Run? They suck. Even worse when half of them are automatically made worse by being put in my hands. Rollers?? Fricking ROLLERS???? in SALMON RUN?? This isn’t even an “i can’t use rollers” thing i’m pretty decent with them but I genuinely believe rollers are the absolute WORST weapon class for Salmon Run considering most of the bosses require you to aim upwards and this is ENTIRELY unhelped by how slow the vertical flick speeds are. Good god
and don’t even get me started on the motherfricking scale rates. They either need to lower scale prices or (preferably) increase drop rates. Now, I’m not saying or expecting we get 50 scales of each type per every encounter and I’m actually really ok with bronze scale rates because it’s roughly 10 per encounter but 1 silver scale sometimes? 1 gold scale per 50 fricking games?? (exaggerating those obviously aren’t actual rates) completely bullshit, gold scales especially. in one of the trailers for the upcoming season they revealed an item going for 30 FRICKING GOLD SCALES

I'm not good at SR as I don't play it, but profresh 1 is snore tier difficulty. Only problem is you also get booger eating profresh 1 teammates so you can't trust them to do anything.
Apparently you would be one of those teammates, so I would recommend maybe watching some good SR gameplay to get a better general sense of what you're supposed to be doing, especially you should try to learn what the roles of the weapons are. If they're a boss killer, chum clearer, egg carrier, whatever else, and also remember that even if that is your role, much like PVP, it isn't rigid. There's only four of you and you'll have to just gain the game sense to understand what is required of you in that moment.

I haven't let myself drop out of EVP in a long time (even if it means not getting all bonuses in a rotation), but I know I'm just not very good at it.
But things DO get easier in EVP. Profresh is literal hell. While there are many shitters in EVP, most of them stilldo get filtered by Profresh, and if your start playing right when rotation starts you have a big chance of hooking up with good freelance team that will not so much carry you, but be good enough to keep things under control collectively and give room to breathe.
I had people tell me repeatedly that to get good you need to keep playing even if it means deranking from EVP, but I did that once and it was a terrible fricking and counterproductive idea, getting repeatedly wiped in wave 1 for entire evening because no one can play for shit won't help anyone get better. Playing with better players will.
And deranking to "easily farm scales" is a shitty meme too except for maybe the top 5% of folks who can singlehandedly carry a team of shitters and get back to EVP whenever they need.
