The Mutant League games were the best because you could kill the opposing team's players

      MLH was disappointing.
It runs like dogshit and the gimmicks don't make up for it. Best sticking to

      >best hockey pick
take your pick, either the game with fighting or the game with the NHL license (and something resembling goaltending)

Arguably Virtua Tennis 2K2, (or Virtua tennis 2) is a better game than the first on the DC. But I love the first one. And these game can use the Sega Bass Fishing controller as a tennis racket. It was an undocumented feature. It makes me wonder why Sega just didn't take the fishing controller and make a tennis racket out of it.

I'd have to go with the one lets you give Wayne Gretzky a head injury.

I like that they complain about the fighting being removed from NHL 94 and onwards. The NHL pulled their team licenses out of NHL 93 because they found out that there was blood in the game. It is the only NHL game with blood. To me because the NHL license was removed, many of the official NHL rules were removed as well, making the game feel more like minor league hockey played by major league players. I grew up in a small town in Canada somewhere. I use to watch minor league hockey in the early 90's. I had a friend whose dad operated a Zamboni machine, so we would get into games for free. The minor League hockey that I use to watch live was violent as frick. Like bloody noses and knocked out teeth. For real. So many minor league players trying to get recognised by potential scouting agents. I loved NHLPA 93. It is a very different take from many of the other 16bit NHL games that came afterwards.

I've been playing alot of PS2 sports games lately. nhl 08 and ncaa football 11 and college hoops 2k8 and nba 2k8 are where ive put most of my time. I play those due to a nice legacy/franchise mode to play thru.
Even recently found out there's an ncaa 07 baseball game on ps2 so i'll be checking that out soon and seeing how its franchise/legacy mode is.
bonus if the games have a play as the player mode and bonus on that if its as a pro player and not just a created one (love taking shitters thru careers)
When im messing with Dreamcast I have the 2k sports titles I can enjoy also. 2k2 basketball and football.

      >ncaa football 11
This game is excellent. Way better than the Madden 11 of the same year. Madden 11 is dog shit compared to this. As far as some of the other sports games go:
      >NBA Live 95
      >NFL2K5
      >NHL2K/NHL95

Ncaa football 11 is probably my favorite out of all the sports games for PS2 I snagged up. I put way 2 much time into so far in the last 2 weeks. And yeah madden 11 is just shit compared to it but I have madden 11 just so I can draft my classes from ncaa 11. in fact a couple of the sports games I made sure ot have the pro version of the ncca games so I could do that. Also love playing as the fcs/fca or whatever teams you can switch out for. Currently playing thru ncaa11 with the citadel. woo its a rough season so far.
glad to see another ncaa 11 fan I think its the last good ncaa title next to ncaa 14 and I will probably be playing ncaa11 for a long time.

I play it on all American difficulty and the AI will NOT allow you to get a big play. I’ve played ncaa 11 on lower difficulties and getting big plays is fairly easy. Not on AA diff. I can bomb the ball down the field to a receiver that has 99 speed and 99 acceleration, he will burn the DB and have a buffer of about 15-20 yards, catch the ball in stride and some how, some way another CPU controlled DB will run my WR down and prevent the large yardage gain and/or touchdown. I have usually run my franchises for 10 years. Have had multiple 10 year stints with with Army, Florida, Stanford, Alabama, Oregon, Michigan and Texas A&M. I took over Stanford and they were C- in everything. Ended up barely beating Texas (rated A or A+ in everything) in the BCS championship. Was a hell of a game.

Its a great game and I think more people should play thru it. I havent upped the difficulty yet as im still getting used to the default settings. Great game so far. Glad I snagged it up
