What I did was basically play like 30 or 40 games against the AI and it will automatically increase in difficulty the better you get. It's quite nice to practice a simple build before jumping into matches against other players.

The point is that it's in development while sc2 is now written in stone. Any gripes with starcraft are permanent, any gripes with the copy are subject to change. cut your losses expand somewhere else and counter attack, cannons and pylons are expensive meaning there's nothing at home
you may also scout preemptively
Serral especially makes it look easy, you just cancel the hatch in the last minute and make ravagers off of one base, preferably with a snuck-out drone already making your expansion.
If you notice it in time, you need to know how many drones you need to defend, but even then sometimes its not enough in my experience due to the aforementioned surface area. Just let them commit and make a hatch elsewhere, then bust their wall of cannons and batteries with the proxy robo with ravagers, or if they dont commit, just transition into a regular game with a late 2nd hatch, that is all

So it really is just low budget starcraft. What is even the point?
The point is that it's in development while sc2 is now written in stone. Any gripes with starcraft are permanent, any gripes with the copy are subject to change. If you think sc2 is perfect you can still play it until a big Windows update few years from now fricks it, if you want the same thing a bit different you play the new one. It exists because some people want to jump ship, not to be starcraft 3.

Everything does, it's so slow. The mechsuits have to stop and take gorrilion years on brace animation every time to actually start shooting and 2 of them can't even kill what is presumably basic infantry. It just feels bad, has anyone played this game at any point before this?

cut your losses expand somewhere else and counter attack, cannons and pylons are expensive meaning there's nothing at home
you may also scout preemptively

Serral especially makes it look easy, you just cancel the hatch in the last minute and make ravagers off of one base, preferably with a snuck-out drone already making your expansion.
If you notice it in time, you need to know how many drones you need to defend, but even then sometimes its not enough in my experience due to the aforementioned surface area. Just let them commit and make a hatch elsewhere, then bust their wall of cannons and batteries with the proxy robo with ravagers, or if they dont commit, just transition into a regular game with a late 2nd hatch, that is all
