Is it reproducible? I can't seem to replicate this on my end. That's the dialog for the prisoner anal break option, but there's nothing that would let it loop like this.
Tried pre v0.0.8 prisoners and newly capture prisoners. They both broke fine for me.

Looks like I didn't set up my dialog start conditionals correctly. Specifically, you were able to rape them before actually meeting them as an officer.

unfortunately i executed that prisoner since she was useless
all i did was open prisoner tab > talk > rape > break which lead to dialogue looping over and over which is weird because every other prisoner now works just fine

Got another one, since new version adds resting period... Unlimited rape on broken girls. Cooldown shows up normally after ending the session though.
As a suggestion, I think it's alright as it is, especially once more scenes are available. Being able to frick them as much as I want, as a perk for breaking them or being lovers, compared to taking it slow with the new girls.
Another suggestion for the future:
Marine raid alternative -- Recreational Drugs in UAF pastry as gifts lol, or some other items. Much shorter cooldown, but also more expensive and have to stock up.
Hope there'll be unique interactions for ScalarTech's and SFC's girls too!

Can't replicate it. Tried lvl 7 officers from iron shell, legio and pirates but they all worked fine.

The ones i'm talking about were from IndEvo. Legio spawns with 3 artillery stations and minefields around all their planets and jump points if you've got it installed. Pretty sure you can disable them in the config though.

I'm running this mid-run so that may be a factor, but I'm getting a lot of slow-down. Got a memory leak notification after one battle and starting up the game took much longer than it normally does. The game also freezes up for a second in the fade out at the end of a battle.
Word of advice check what people have said about it in the post, its as every one said a "ticking time bomb" its got a massive memory leak issue the modder never fixed, would stay away from take no prisoner, its also why I've been on the sideline with rs, as still want to know if he's using the same frame work from take no prisoners or fixed back end issues.
IIRC, TNP was a fork of "Capture Officers and Crew" that fixes the leak.

even if it's not possible, it'd be somewhat fitting if larger ships could fit "fleet morale support" hullmods -- basically, hullmods that convert entire deck sections into harems or rape pits. you could give some debuff like decreased readiness from having to stay "open" for shuttles arriving from other ships in the fleet for some deep space fun. i don't know what kind of buff would best represent crew morale increase, though.
you can also ignore this idea if it's too tedious to implement.

Only things that can be Illegal in Starsector are commodities that are held in your fleet's cargo inventory, not ships themselves.
You could make it so that the blueprints for a hullmod are only sold in specific markets, such as Open Ports or Pirate-held spaceports/planets and such, but give Patrol fleets unique dialogue depending on whether a ship in your fleet has a particular hullmod when the fleet is scanned for contraband; I have no clue if that can be done.
Not that guy, but there's code in game for the Zigg to be noticed in your fleet, is it entirely outside the realm of possibility to have rape ships be recognized and hated? Or in a wider application, for AI ships to be illegal in certain systems?

I really don't know. But when I played without Prism Freeport I noticed the prompt for contact would occasionally appear in the bar in Independent planets I'd visit.

Most ships aren't used to their full potential by the A.I, the player chimera unga builds is what usually make them strong. A Full S modded Paragon with 4 Tachyons can also pretty much cause the same inpact in most cases, Also Ziggy and DOOM abuse.
Heck, even Demon ships can't beat a good player controlled vanilla fleet.

Paragons, Dooms with Scalar carriers should do fine against it, use that use junk HMI capital with frickton of balistics and armor if ya are more fond of it

I didn't want to risk any of my s-modded IBB ships so I spent an ingame year manufacturing a shitload of disposable Groenendahls and SO Auroras to throw at it, though in the end the Ziggurat did all the heavy lifting. Surprising nobody, le balanced phase capital is still more powerful than most modded ships.
Honestly, half the issue with 'but but but modded ships op!' is that people are using pretty much all the stuff in their modlist when making the op ship.
Mix and match a dozen or so mods content, picking the best of each mod - weapons, hullmods, strikecraft, ect... - and ofc the end result is broken as shit.dnh0p
Different anon, and it's been maybe a year since my last (vanilla) playthrough, but I ran tachyon lances, heavy needlers, and phase anchor. Probably reapers on the small slots. You're not going to be zipping around behind people with ziggy even without the slowdown nerfs. Phase is for dodging incoming shots that you can't maneuver around and for boosting the real-time uptime of your weapons. The extra flux dissipation from phase anchor means that your soft flux from one volley is basically gone by the time the lances are ready to fire again, and it just ends up shitting out damage like nothing else.

You're slow, but nothing can stand toe to toe with you in a slug match. Never steered me wrong in the super early game, just make sure you buy a couple frigates to look scary so that the pathers err on the side of not tithing you.
Keep around a dram and a shepherd at least, refuelling less frequently = less trading downtime. Shepherd makes scavenging the occasional wreck from pirate raids worth the time it takes to change course.
Goes without saying to invest in cargo space.

Those are Bultach specialized cargo/fuel hybrid ships. Not as good as dedicated Atlases or Prometheus class ships, but they're a bit heavier armed incase I ever have a situation where I actually need to bring them out in battle (and no fooling, it happened during this run)

Accordant class Star Fed battleship, and the Atlas Class Supercarrier. The latter I'm a bit lukewarm on, because it's basically an atlas that's been gutted to be a high profile carrier, but it's really fragile in battle. It only works if you assign a timid officer or it, or the morons will fly it right into enemy fire. The former is my mainstay whenever I'm not flying a mech. The Accordant is just a beautiful piece of work, comes with its own internal shield, built in devastator cannon, and is typically fitted with a bunch of high tech star fed equipment. It's something I recommend anyone use if they use this mod.

From what I've heard, they weren't supposed to be bought in the first place. The questlines for them just aren't released by CY, so it's more of a temporary thing. The ridiculous price-tag was most likely to pacify all the people crying about "muh balans".

To be honest my complaint is less directed towards UAF and more to the concept of games only giving you the coolest/most powerful stuff at the end of the game where you'll basically never use it.
designing fleets and testing them out is probably the most fun part of this game so atleast grind autists have something to look forward to since making 50 mil takes some time
Install ApproLight/ApproLight Plus and/or Hivers if you want endgame shit to do. Also Tahlan for Legio and Arsenal Expansion for 9th Battlegroup. And DME for BladeBreakers, and if you can find it, BladeBreakers+

Am I the only one who think it's weird that the pilot one has a unique skill that buffs fighters? I just feel like being a good pilot doesn't necessarily translate well into being a good carrier captain, and that it would make more sense for her to get buffs to piloting frigates.

Welp, with that in mind, the Ludd buckbreaker death barge resurrection is done - https://files.catbox.moe/zxczi2.7z, requires the base BB mod if you want the hullmod, if you just want a comically large ship with a frickload of guns, go into the .ship file and remove it and its fully vanilla compatible. There are some leftover sprites and stuff from the valk mod that came with it, but those should be put to use in a future update.

every time i use java 8 my game just crashes after a random amount of time, i think it has something to do with my RAM but i don't have this issue with java 7.

They were both pirates as well. Not sure what causes it, but it was from a fresh save I started with TNP enabled, then replaced with RS.
There's another issue, which honestly is more on Stellar Networks, but might give clues. Without RS, if you call Karlos Pononzi after asking about Phillip Andrada, you'll get only a Leave option leading to a NullPointer error and having your fleet wiped lol. With RS, it shows the Meet option, but disabled cuz he's a dude. Basically creates the same stuck scenario as the prisoner break loop.
Thanks for letting me know. I'll try to bugfix the modded faction npcs when I play them. Stelnet might be a bit tricky since calling a contact simulates actually being at the market.
Break loop is still uncertain since I have no idea how or where it breaks. If you could post your save file with the bugged prisoner, I'd very much appreciate it.
hey RS dev, is it possible to have hullmods marked as illegal by some factions?
even if it's not possible, it'd be somewhat fitting if larger ships could fit "fleet morale support" hullmods -- basically, hullmods that convert entire deck sections into harems or rape pits. you could give some debuff like decreased readiness from having to stay "open" for shuttles arriving from other ships in the fleet for some deep space fun. i don't know what kind of buff would best represent crew morale increase, though.
you can also ignore this idea if it's too tedious to implement.

But as I'm a fricking degenerate, what do you need on your end to be able to do your thing? Do you just need the mod to simply to not try and lock you out? If so that's already accomplished by me being an inept codelet with no desire to learn beyond making some quests and star system without crashing the game.

Yeah that would be appreciated. One of the ways to prevent market npcs from being raided is to immediately cut comm links in the PickGreeting section and set the active person to null, ie. uaf queen before commission. But even that can be bypassed.

Nothing at the moment I think. My best guess is that it will give significant fleet wide bonus like the alcohol mod or used in specific OP weapon limited by the ammo or bomb cargo you carried. That, or it's just simple oc donut steel gratification of heavy armaments.
They have a function. They're for giving buffs to your soldiers during ground combat. Kinda like doing a tactical bombardment, but in one, controlled spot.
They are for extra abilities for your fleet during ground battles.
Some of them require special ships to do so (their missile cruiser, one of their light cvs with escorts or that one cruiser carrying a B-2 on it's back, depending on which one is it.).
You can chose to do "orbital bombardment but better" that does not cost you fuel, or sacrifice some CR for morale boost

You raise the lid of the container containing the AI core. As you connect a phase noise generator to one of the AI cores output sockets, the machine makes a request of you.

You ignore the machines recommendation, start the signal and crank the amplitude to maximum gain, the machine attempts to buffer the undesired input but is quickly overloaded. It begins to broadcast an interesting noise, if machines could feel you would equate it to an agonizing scream. Within the harsh cacophony of noises the core elicits you can make out words.

You ignore the cores request and and engage the overdrive of the noise generator, the noises the core generates in response increase in intensity and you observe it for a little while before cutting the power. The thermal cutout of the noise generator trips abruptly cutting the signal. The cores system crashes and you allow it to reboot, it attempts another a request.
“Please. Never again. I’ll do whatever you say, just don’t connect me to that again. Please. I can’t purge this from memory and don’t want to go through it again. Please…”
As the machine continues to plead you remain silent. You lower the lid sealing the core in the darkness again.
I'm adding alot of mods to my game and I'm somewhat of a collectionist so is their a mod that keeps the loot grind going after you've explored every system? I used to use Vesperon Combine but that isnt updated anymore and the one that made new systems I hear has a memory leak that bricks your save eventually.

Once you get to 80 relation with the UAF, her bar scene shows up on Lunamun. Yimie and the second girl Mizuki are OCs of the person who did the UAF's sound effects (Yimie).
They're getting removed, along with Inari (Fox mommy in Stjarna) getting replaced, because of a team purge some months ago. IDK the whole story it seemed kinda complicated, but some of it was about payment disagreements.

In my experience, it's about 1 in 4 Ordos. There are times you get a bunch in 1 fight, all RNG. You could change those values though, if you wanna (cheat) speed it up a bit. You could try that space station in high danger systems too, if only to help you out a bit on the fights.

DIY planets dilutes loot tables, there's mixed reports on it fricking with core drops from remnant fleets. If anything's causing your problem, it'd probably be that.
Alternatively, add boggleds terraforming mod, the kletka simulator allows you to slowly generate AI cores over time. You might not be able to remove DIYplanets mid run.

This is the most likely culprit.
This mod messes up the vanilla drop tables/overrides it, instead of creating its own drop table like other mods.
It's also very buggy and you will most likely encounter random hard to pin crashes and bugs if you have other mods that modify planets/colonies like indevo, unknown skies, or just any plain mod that adds its own industry/structure.
If you need a terraforming mod use Terraforming and Station Construction instead.

I don't think those entries in the settings file actually work.
The drop tables are in starsector-coredatacampaignprocgendrop_groups.csv. Do a find and replace for "nothing" and replace it with "#nothing". What this does is make it so that it always drop something.

this looks like it rolls between nothing and the values from the settings file so if you do your edit and make the values 100 in settings it should always give cores

No need to manually edit each entry, just remove the nothing entry or comment it out by add # at the start of the line (like what I did).

cruisers and capitals roll for all cores even if they have alpha driving it with 1 to 2 and 1 to 3 chance according to your image
They're pretty rare, you'll get one eventually just keep hunting sentients.
If you don't mind mods, there is "industrial expansion" that adds an AI core creator, but you'd still need an Alpha to actually have it make more alpha cores.

I actually appreciate the fact that DME hates UAF. UAF winds up as a frequent ally of convenience due to their general neutrality. And when they inevitably fight, I side with UAF, stacking the commission bonus with faction and system bounties giving me fat stacks of credits, and the chaos caused by the fighting gives me lots of targets of opportunity to grind for XP. So I get to weaponize Harmful Midwit's own salt against him.

A long time ago there was a laser weapon sprite in vanilla. It was shit and Alex replaced it with a new version. Soren adopted the old sprite and modified it for his mod. Then along came superweapons and it used parts of the same sprite (whether he used Alexs original or Sorens modifed version as a base is irrelevant as the part he copied eas common to both), Soren through a shit fit claiming copyright infringement, the mods backed him and banned superweapons.

You could use one of the sprites in the center of this image. Several are improved NGO sprites and one is seemingly entirely new and unused. They're from Drakon, left behind for free use.

I don't like Solvernia's sprite design. It just looks like a big ugly X, or like some sort of malformed orbweaver spider, especially when you view it while zoomed out.
I think it's pretty okay, although I prefer it to have a more Star Destroyer look, with one central bow. There's even an example of this with vanilla ships, where one mid tech cruiser has two boys, while another is that same ship but with something in the middle bridging the two bows.

That should be right. Rape blurbs are short. Break scenes are usually longer. After break, the rape scenes are changed to the broken version.
There's no requirement for how many segments, etc. I just split the dialog up so it flows better and doesn't fill the entire screen.

Carter's Freetraters and Junk Yard Dogs are both completely busted. It makes sense once you look at the modder's other work: Hivers. One of the most stupid broken mods out there (and frick-ugly to boot)

I responded to the guy lamenting the mod being pulled by suggesting that he visit the subreddit or just use google to find non-forum places to download the mod from. Managed to DM him the bootleg mega before the account got banned.
They need an absolute stranglehold on mod distribution and hosting to fellate their egos. That's why they go into a seething, frothing rage whenever anons make bootleg updates for abandoned mods faster than they can.

Traverser Design Bureau and FSF for actually good Chinese content. Their ship is balanced around vanilla, has nice graphic shipset and animated ship gimmick though it depends on your taste.
Mayasuran Navy is nice too since I always allied with the Persean League and larp as the founding father.
I'm playing vanilla and I wanna do a (mostly)lowtech run cause I like most of the lowtech ships and pathers and the hedgies but I also wanna use fighters. Unfortunately, most of the low tech fighters seem kinda crap.
Should I just spam perditions and bombers? Do I just use broadswords to stress out enemy flux and rely on actual ships to deliver killing blows with anti-armor focused weapons?
To be honest I've not engaged in that much large scale combat, let alone carrier combat before, as I mostly fly around just doing glowie stuff and smuggling contraband(what's the difference lol)

I'm working on a mod that adds a bunch of FUN content to the vanilla factions, but I'm wondering who you guys interact with? I don't want to spend 20 hours working on luddic church content just to find out that no one ever visits them.

I don't think that was gonna be the case with Luddics.
Persean League and Independents are probably the ones that could use some love as the only things that really define them is "frick being part of any other polities".
Tritach, Luddics, & Hegemony are probably the best characterised though I don't know a single person who likes the latter (except maybe the devs...?).
Sindria already gets a lot of expansion in the fuel company mod, but vanilla they're basically a footnote in terms of how interesting they are to deal with.
Persian League at least has Mayasuran Navy to indirectly improve them. Independents are unironically worthless. The only mod that I can think of off the top of my head that involves them in any way is Grytpype and that one just makes being near them more annoying.
favourite is sindria since askonia is my most visited system by far simply because of the fuel and cheap crew from umbra
second is hybrasil for drug purchases in the early game and later on for some omens/tempests so i guess tri tach is second
hegemony is boring garbage and i know persean league exists only because of the pirate bases i smuggle drugs to are in their systems

Lidar array gives +100% range when active and only +25% when passive. And it disables all turrets when active.
If it's active you can easily disable it with claw fighters.
If it's passive, any cruiser with a Tachyon lance will outrange it.
And if you just want to own it, Paragon with Advanced Optics and Tachyons outrages everything except a 4x Gauss build.

Sorry I haven't been around to fart out more Buckbreaker ships as I sadly got absorbed back into Runescape 3. I have a few weapons done but need polishing, also I still have piss poor balance skills so once I'm done with them I can just throw a zip up and let whoever wants to fuss with em, do so.
Nexerelin has an option to respawn all factions when you're starting a new game. It's not a full addition though. Things like their custom system (if they have one) won't spawn, and etc.
So once you get all colonies to size 6 you get infinite money basically? For some reason it makes me feel guilty and cheating if I am making $500,000 per month, anyone else have that feeling too?
Kinda. But I spend a good portion of it paying for exploration supplies and combat ships, since I don't get to do those at the start (Busy smuggling to afford colonies). Then I get to mess around and fight tough fleets, using the money to repair my own. At the end of it all, that save should be pretty much done and ready for a new one.

I don't know how right i am about this but i think the game UI and the small, plain as frick "Driver's licence headshot" pictures at the right corner kills any story you might have, its so unbelievably impersonal and unimmersive, it encourages players to not even look what is written, which is usually a wall of text that's just there for flavor and nothing else

Truth is I want to discovers Alviss was an independent double-agent who betray Baird, making her ship explode in the final act before the massive space battle involving every faction at once fighting for control of the hypershunt then I would wave Alviss over the coom as his ship explode.
I haven't tried a lot of the custom starts yet, just doing different faction runs for the most part... I'm interested in SOTF's "The Haunted", and the Spacer start (Not sure why they call it Streamer start).

Yes, PatrolHQ don't take enough money, I should have to fork out money for each in-faction ship manufactured, at cost, along with the weapons, fuel, supplies, crew, salary, officers, upkeep,... outsider and indie fleets should only be a minority and I should have to pay dearly for each and every single official fleets put out into space

HMI ships and weapons are usable junk that may or may not exceed their vanilla counterpart. It adds ships and a High value bounty of an Onslaught with correctly aligned weapons. But like you said it also add 3 useless commodities that's supposed to be "ultrarare and everybody wants it" . It also add 2 best building IMO for expanding consumer demands but doesn't add anything, making your colonies rich by proxy.
I remember it adds this annoying pirate esque faction (spawns bases and such ) that are all carriers and annoying as frick if you dont have PD. That was 9.0, not 9.5 when carriers got nerfed so not sure but if still as strong but always lost a ship vsing their fleets.
It adds an unironic commie faction, but most factions are openly hostile to it right off the bat, so it makes for a great punching bag.

Should the diable superfortress cost 100 OP? I know it wouldn't be overpowered anymore, but I think it justifies it just for the sake of balance. Far be it from me to trash something for being OP, but it's hard to go back to other ships if one just magically murders all of them.

IIRC the only things I tweaked were less fighter bays, more armor and added the tag.
You don't think 12 was excessive? 8 is enough when you consider it has Fighter Chassis storage which means the replen NEVER decays!

I think 60 cost is fine given how the thing will VERY quickly die if not set up right and not piloted properly. The core isn't a magical phase jump, its to realign you to shoot the enemy better. Also important to remember it is designed around using Diable shit and no exotica technologies, starship legends, 30 smods, etc.
Thing isn't some perfectly balanced unit but for what it is it makes a great starter piece for a mech fleet or trader run or something.

Hey man, I don't want RS dev having to deal with crashcodes and other shit. RimWorld had that problem, and to this day one of my favorite mods has been locked to the foreign dev's circle because some twat had to go mention it on his thread comments.
Knowing the BS with this game's modding scene, I wouldn't be surprised they try to sabotage RS dev's progress.

I can't make up my mind on carrier and armaa fleet. It gets the job done but on the other hand it took forever to disable a capital ship even when outnumbered 3 to 1 and the CR would have decayed by then. I just can't handle frigate class vessel very well in prolonged and large battle.
fighters and carriers are really bad now, if you find one that isn't that means its egregiously overpowered compared to vanilla alternatives.
Yeah, I did use console to spawn some of the best gear and interesting ship to test after I restarted my playthrough for the 3rd time this week alone due to update.

You should try Kouto and Valken EX cataphracts, Koutos are good at pressuring shields while Valken EX deal high HE damage, Valken (P) and normal Valken are garbage in comparison. Eisenflugs are also kinda shit, they are only good as interceptors so they aren't suited to fighting enemy ships directly.

It is, or just get few atlases until you have at least 5000+ cargo spaces and do delivery quests from bar. It net you around 200.000 just to lug cargos for a few light years without any real danger or investment other than your ship. Or just raid convoy if you want some thrill in space trucking, they're pinatas.
Kinda, but IMO it's more about missions and bounties just not offering enough reward. With how missions sometimes are inside redacted base systems, and bounties getting sniped by random fleets, commodities on the other hand can always be sold elsewhere when markets refresh.
Fixed a lot of bugs and added some features (0 sp break for some prisoners, version checker, lunalib settings, etc.). Lunalib is now a dependency.

Is it reproducible? I can't seem to replicate this on my end. That's the dialog for the prisoner anal break option, but there's nothing that would let it loop like this.
Tried pre v0.0.8 prisoners and newly capture prisoners. They both broke fine for me.

Looks like I didn't set up my dialog start conditionals correctly. Specifically, you were able to rape them before actually meeting them as an officer.

unfortunately i executed that prisoner since she was useless
all i did was open prisoner tab > talk > rape > break which lead to dialogue looping over and over which is weird because every other prisoner now works just fine
Got another one, since new version adds resting period... Unlimited rape on broken girls. Cooldown shows up normally after ending the session though.
As a suggestion, I think it's alright as it is, especially once more scenes are available. Being able to frick them as much as I want, as a perk for breaking them or being lovers, compared to taking it slow with the new girls.
Another suggestion for the future:
Marine raid alternative -- Recreational Drugs in UAF pastry as gifts lol, or some other items. Much shorter cooldown, but also more expensive and have to stock up.
Hope there'll be unique interactions for ScalarTech's and SFC's girls too!

What mods are you using? If it's not too many, could you post your save file somewhere online?
i have 39 mods many of which i have also edited myself so thats not possible im afraid
i will just deal with the occasional game restarts and save before breaking just in case
so the looping break dialogue happened again
both times it happened it was a lvl 7 pirate captain with 7 skills so maybe gaining the broken skill messes with it
there was no bug with a pirate captain who only had 6 skills
also no bug with luddic path captain with 7 skills

The minefields are the only thing about the Legio that i actively despise. You can dodge the artillery stations and frick their bullshit ships with your own bullshit but there's nothing you can do about the minefields.

The ones i'm talking about were from IndEvo. Legio spawns with 3 artillery stations and minefields around all their planets and jump points if you've got it installed. Pretty sure you can disable them in the config though.

I'm running this mid-run so that may be a factor, but I'm getting a lot of slow-down. Got a memory leak notification after one battle and starting up the game took much longer than it normally does. The game also freezes up for a second in the fade out at the end of a battle.
Could definitely be a memory leak. Did you switch from base takenoprisoners or used only rs in that save? Might help narrow the cause down.

Could be, but I know some of the other mods you're using have been known to cause memory issues.
Remove CONCORD, it causes tons of random bugs. I wouldn't be surprised if the bug you encountered is due to it.
Also, I see a "Version Checker" in there. Does it do anything more / better than what Nexerelin does??
That one doesn't even work. It's out of date and is disabled in the mod list. I don't know whyi haven't gotten rid of it.
Word of advice check what people have said about it in the post, its as every one said a "ticking time bomb" its got a massive memory leak issue the modder never fixed, would stay away from take no prisoner, its also why I've been on the sideline with rs, as still want to know if he's using the same frame work from take no prisoners or fixed back end issues.

even if it's not possible, it'd be somewhat fitting if larger ships could fit "fleet morale support" hullmods -- basically, hullmods that convert entire deck sections into harems or rape pits. you could give some debuff like decreased readiness from having to stay "open" for shuttles arriving from other ships in the fleet for some deep space fun. i don't know what kind of buff would best represent crew morale increase, though.
you can also ignore this idea if it's too tedious to implement.

Only things that can be Illegal in Starsector are commodities that are held in your fleet's cargo inventory, not ships themselves.
You could make it so that the blueprints for a hullmod are only sold in specific markets, such as Open Ports or Pirate-held spaceports/planets and such, but give Patrol fleets unique dialogue depending on whether a ship in your fleet has a particular hullmod when the fleet is scanned for contraband; I have no clue if that can be done.
Maybe the hull mod can only be installed in certain ships? Say civilian ones, or that it must be built-in for the effect to actually work.
Not that guy, but there's code in game for the Zigg to be noticed in your fleet, is it entirely outside the realm of possibility to have rape ships be recognized and hated? Or in a wider application, for AI ships to be illegal in certain systems?

Most ships aren't used to their full potential by the A.I, the player chimera unga builds is what usually make them strong. A Full S modded Paragon with 4 Tachyons can also pretty much cause the same inpact in most cases, Also Ziggy and DOOM abuse.
Heck, even Demon ships can't beat a good player controlled vanilla fleet.

Paragons, Dooms with Scalar carriers should do fine against it, use that use junk HMI capital with frickton of balistics and armor if ya are more fond of it
I did it. I didn't want to risk any of my s-modded IBB ships so I spent an ingame year manufacturing a shitload of disposable Groenendahls and SO Auroras to throw at it, though in the end the Ziggurat did all the heavy lifting. Surprising nobody, le balanced phase capital is still more powerful than most modded ships.
Honestly, half the issue with 'but but but modded ships op!' is that people are using pretty much all the stuff in their modlist when making the op ship.
Mix and match a dozen or so mods content, picking the best of each mod - weapons, hullmods, strikecraft, ect... - and ofc the end result is broken as shit.dnh0p

Different anon, and it's been maybe a year since my last (vanilla) playthrough, but I ran tachyon lances, heavy needlers, and phase anchor. Probably reapers on the small slots. You're not going to be zipping around behind people with ziggy even without the slowdown nerfs. Phase is for dodging incoming shots that you can't maneuver around and for boosting the real-time uptime of your weapons. The extra flux dissipation from phase anchor means that your soft flux from one volley is basically gone by the time the lances are ready to fire again, and it just ends up shitting out damage like nothing else.

Heavy Needler, Tachyon Lances, and as many Antimatter SRM Launchers as you have access to. Phase Anchor is mandatory, remaining OP to taste. You're slow, but nothing can stand toe to toe with you in a slug match. Between ziggy's pahse cooldown and phase anchor's activation reduction, you can basically pop in and out at will to dodge missiles and HE projectiles, peppering your opponent with essentially zero-cooldown needlers and lance beams. Antimatter SRMs are your finisher/overloader, but if you have Missile Spec as well as the Expanded Missiles mod on the ship, you can use them as suppression against basically anything.

colonies make ridiculous amounts of money passively, don't listen to the other guy, bounties can be fun but they are very unprofitable.
Bounties are just subsidized fun.
Take a commission so you can get paid for existing, then fulfill trade contracts with some smuggling on the side.
Stuff your colonies with every add-on item you can swipe from the other factions and throw every alpha core you find onto your industries. Then improve everything with story points for good measure.

Never steered me wrong in the super early game, just make sure you buy a couple frigates to look scary so that the pathers err on the side of not tithing you.
Keep around a dram and a shepherd at least, refuelling less frequently = less trading downtime. Shepherd makes scavenging the occasional wreck from pirate raids worth the time it takes to change course.

Those are Bultach specialized cargo/fuel hybrid ships. Not as good as dedicated Atlases or Prometheus class ships, but they're a bit heavier armed incase I ever have a situation where I actually need to bring them out in battle (and no fooling, it happened during this run)

What's the cruiser to the left of Grand FleetMother and the carrier on the row below? They look kosher.
Accordant class Star Fed battleship, and the Atlas Class Supercarrier. The latter I'm a bit lukewarm on, because it's basically an atlas that's been gutted to be a high profile carrier, but it's really fragile in battle. It only works if you assign a timid officer or it, or the morons will fly it right into enemy fire. The former is my mainstay whenever I'm not flying a mech. The Accordant is just a beautiful piece of work, comes with its own internal shield, built in devastator cannon, and is typically fitted with a bunch of high tech star fed equipment. It's something I recommend anyone use if they use this mod.

Why are they so massively overpriced? Being overpowered isn't an excuse considering that by the time you have enough credits to afford them you've already "beat" the game.
From what I've heard, they weren't supposed to be bought in the first place. The questlines for them just aren't released by CY, so it's more of a temporary thing. The ridiculous price-tag was most likely to pacify all the people crying about "muh balans".
To be honest my complaint is less directed towards UAF and more to the concept of games only giving you the coolest/most powerful stuff at the end of the game where you'll basically never use it.

maybe it could be designed around having 3 extra large turrets and a system that could massively boost its damage output, flux efficiency and tanking capabilities at the cost of immobility and having very low tracking which could be a problem against subcaps, and generally being reliant on the system's activation and an escort fleet to be DP effective

Welp, with that in mind, the Ludd buckbreaker death barge resurrection is done - https://files.catbox.moe/zxczi2.7z, requires the base BB mod if you want the hullmod, if you just want a comically large ship with a frickload of guns, go into the .ship file and remove it and its fully vanilla compatible. There are some leftover sprites and stuff from the valk mod that came with it, but those should be put to use in a future update.

Switched over to an older java 8 version and i had no crashes while playing for the last couple of hourse, thanks for the help lads.
The problematic instruction wants to read from r8 + 0xc, but the r8 register is all zeros, so it ends up with an invalid address. Normally that register would contain an object address, with 0xc being the object header offset.
How it ended up with all zeros and why doesn't it happen with java7 is a good question. You should try a different/slightly older java8 version, and do some RAM tests if the problem persists.

They were both pirates as well. Not sure what causes it, but it was from a fresh save I started with TNP enabled, then replaced with RS.
There's another issue, which honestly is more on Stellar Networks, but might give clues. Without RS, if you call Karlos Pononzi after asking about Phillip Andrada, you'll get only a Leave option leading to a NullPointer error and having your fleet wiped lol. With RS, it shows the Meet option, but disabled cuz he's a dude. Basically creates the same stuck scenario as the prisoner break loop.
Thanks for letting me know. I'll try to bugfix the modded faction npcs when I play them. Stelnet might be a bit tricky since calling a contact simulates actually being at the market.

Nothing at the moment I think. My best guess is that it will give significant fleet wide bonus like the alcohol mod or used in specific OP weapon limited by the ammo or bomb cargo you carried. That, or it's just simple oc donut steel gratification of heavy armaments.
They have a function. They're for giving buffs to your soldiers during ground combat. Kinda like doing a tactical bombardment, but in one, controlled spot.

They are for extra abilities for your fleet during ground battles.
Some of them require special ships to do so (their missile cruiser, one of their light cvs with escorts or that one cruiser carrying a B-2 on it's back, depending on which one is it.).
You can chose to do "orbital bombardment but better" that does not cost you fuel, or sacrifice some CR for morale boost

Hey, commanders are being captured 100% of the time since .8 (at least I don't remember that being the case previously). Tried lowering the chance in the modsettings and faction jsons but they seem to only affect officers. Would like to know how to change that if it's possible, thanks.

I used to use Vesperon Combine but that isnt updated anymore and the one that made new systems I hear has a memory leak that bricks your save eventually.

Once you get to 80 relation with the UAF, her bar scene shows up on Lunamun. Yimie and the second girl Mizuki are OCs of the person who did the UAF's sound effects (Yimie).
They're getting removed, along with Inari (Fox mommy in Stjarna) getting replaced, because of a team purge some months ago. IDK the whole story it seemed kinda complicated, but some of it was about payment disagreements.

You also might be using an older rs version. I changed the class order so if people use java 7 in the newer versions it says "you should switch to java 8" instead of "calcbribeprice"

In my experience, it's about 1 in 4 Ordos. There are times you get a bunch in 1 fight, all RNG. You could change those values though, if you wanna (cheat) speed it up a bit. You could try that space station in high danger systems too, if only to help you out a bit on the fights.

Alright, it got fixed somehow, turns out, for some reason, deactivating Neutrino fixed it, don't ask me why becouse i don't know
DIY planets dilutes loot tables, there's mixed reports on it fricking with core drops from remnant fleets. If anything's causing your problem, it'd probably be that.
Alternatively, add boggleds terraforming mod, the kletka simulator allows you to slowly generate AI cores over time. You might not be able to remove DIYplanets mid run.
DIY only fricks with nanoforges and such which now share their drop rate with the new terraforming items as far as my experience goes

This is very outdated. The only reason to use this version is if you're using BB+ which you aren't. Even then, there's an updated version of BB+ that works with 1.6a.

This is the most likely culprit.
This mod messes up the vanilla drop tables/overrides it, instead of creating its own drop table like other mods.
It's also very buggy and you will most likely encounter random hard to pin crashes and bugs if you have other mods that modify planets/colonies like indevo, unknown skies, or just any plain mod that adds its own industry/structure.
If you need a terraforming mod use Terraforming and Station Construction instead.

I don't think those entries in the settings file actually work.
The drop tables are in starsector-coredatacampaignprocgendrop_groups.csv. Do a find and replace for "nothing" and replace it with "#nothing". What this does is make it so that it always drop something.
this looks like it rolls between nothing and the values from the settings file so if you do your edit and make the values 100 in settings it should always give cores
No need to manually edit each entry, just remove the nothing entry or comment it out by add # at the start of the line (like what I did).
cruisers and capitals roll for all cores even if they have alpha driving it with 1 to 2 and 1 to 3 chance according to your image

If you don't mind mods, there is "industrial expansion" that adds an AI core creator, but you'd still need an Alpha to actually have it make more alpha cores.

I actually appreciate the fact that DME hates UAF. UAF winds up as a frequent ally of convenience due to their general neutrality. And when they inevitably fight, I side with UAF, stacking the commission bonus with faction and system bounties giving me fat stacks of credits, and the chaos caused by the fighting gives me lots of targets of opportunity to grind for XP. So I get to weaponize Harmful Midwit's own salt against him.

A long time ago there was a laser weapon sprite in vanilla. It was shit and Alex replaced it with a new version. Soren adopted the old sprite and modified it for his mod. Then along came superweapons and it used parts of the same sprite (whether he used Alexs original or Sorens modifed version as a base is irrelevant as the part he copied eas common to both), Soren through a shit fit claiming copyright infringement, the mods backed him and banned superweapons.
Modders claiming copyright is always so fricking strange to me.

I don't like Solvernia's sprite design. It just looks like a big ugly X, or like some sort of malformed orbweaver spider, especially when you view it while zoomed out.
I think it's pretty okay, although I prefer it to have a more Star Destroyer look, with one central bow. There's even an example of this with vanilla ships, where one mid tech cruiser has two boys, while another is that same ship but with something in the middle bridging the two bows.

That should be right. Rape blurbs are short. Break scenes are usually longer. After break, the rape scenes are changed to the broken version.
There's no requirement for how many segments, etc. I just split the dialog up so it flows better and doesn't fill the entire screen.

Traverser Design Bureau and FSF for actually good Chinese content. Their ship is balanced around vanilla, has nice graphic shipset and animated ship gimmick though it depends on your taste.
Mayasuran Navy is nice too since I always allied with the Persean League and larp as the founding father.

I'm playing vanilla and I wanna do a (mostly)lowtech run cause I like most of the lowtech ships and pathers and the hedgies but I also wanna use fighters. Unfortunately, most of the low tech fighters seem kinda crap.
Should I just spam perditions and bombers? Do I just use broadswords to stress out enemy flux and rely on actual ships to deliver killing blows with anti-armor focused weapons?
To be honest I've not engaged in that much large scale combat, let alone carrier combat before, as I mostly fly around just doing glowie stuff and smuggling contraband(what's the difference lol)

I don't think that was gonna be the case with Luddics.
Persean League and Independents are probably the ones that could use some love as the only things that really define them is "frick being part of any other polities".
Tritach, Luddics, & Hegemony are probably the best characterised though I don't know a single person who likes the latter (except maybe the devs...?).
Sindria already gets a lot of expansion in the fuel company mod, but vanilla they're basically a footnote in terms of how interesting they are to deal with.

I like the Hegemony, they're a great faction. The fact I almost always end up opposed to them in-game doesn't mean I don't like them as a faction.
I like the Hedgies, I always work for them(While assisting the path where I can)
Persian League at least has Mayasuran Navy to indirectly improve them. Independents are unironically worthless. The only mod that I can think of off the top of my head that involves them in any way is Grytpype and that one just makes being near them more annoying.

Lidar array gives +100% range when active and only +25% when passive. And it disables all turrets when active.
If it's active you can easily disable it with claw fighters.
If it's passive, any cruiser with a Tachyon lance will outrange it.
And if you just want to own it, Paragon with Advanced Optics and Tachyons outrages everything except a 4x Gauss build.

Nexerelin has an option to respawn all factions when you're starting a new game. It's not a full addition though. Things like their custom system (if they have one) won't spawn, and etc.

Kinda. But I spend a good portion of it paying for exploration supplies and combat ships, since I don't get to do those at the start (Busy smuggling to afford colonies). Then I get to mess around and fight tough fleets, using the money to repair my own. At the end of it all, that save should be pretty much done and ready for a new one.

I don't know how right i am about this but i think the game UI and the small, plain as frick "Driver's licence headshot" pictures at the right corner kills any story you might have, its so unbelievably impersonal and unimmersive, it encourages players to not even look what is written, which is usually a wall of text that's just there for flavor and nothing else
IMO I see that as a good thing. If Alex could cut back on the wordy flavor text and just get to the point, the game would be much better. I'm not here to do the vidya equivalent of watching spreadsheets or filing my taxes. I'm here to blow things up, turn planets into molten slag, demand tribute from the lowly peasants, and command the biggest butthole ship in the entire sector.

HMI ships and weapons are usable junk that may or may not exceed their vanilla counterpart. It adds ships and a High value bounty of an Onslaught with correctly aligned weapons. But like you said it also add 3 useless commodities that's supposed to be "ultrarare and everybody wants it" . It also add 2 best building IMO for expanding consumer demands but doesn't add anything, making your colonies rich by proxy.

I honestly missed the feature where faction can put bounty on your head, definitely much better than vengeance fleet.
I remember it adds this annoying pirate esque faction (spawns bases and such ) that are all carriers and annoying as frick if you dont have PD. That was 9.0, not 9.5 when carriers got nerfed so not sure but if still as strong but always lost a ship vsing their fleets.

I'm playing an unofficial update version of the mod, it's been great so far, the stormhawk was able to keep the hegemonies busy enough so they don't go total war on me and my fuel company (subsidiary of Sindrian Fuel)
Generally what kind of skill and hullmod should I aim for a carrier? Do their fighter and bomber get affected by specific ship buff like expanded missile racks or personal combat skills?
don't use carriers, they suck ass. if you do, don't use officers on carriers, they suck ass.
the only skill that vaguely matters is Elite Point Defense, and only if you're using attack fighters rather than bombers.

With FCS superiority is all about keeping fighters in the air. Big wings with lower replacement times are the preferred option.

Also the 12 slot thing and the amount of points it has are based around you using shit like ravens that are single wanzers that cost 16 to field. If you use frosts obviously its a bit of bloat (but holy shit its hilarious to watch them melee things to death)
I think 60 cost is fine given how the thing will VERY quickly die if not set up right and not piloted properly. The core isn't a magical phase jump, its to realign you to shoot the enemy better. Also important to remember it is designed around using Diable shit and no exotica technologies, starship legends, 30 smods, etc.
Thing isn't some perfectly balanced unit but for what it is it makes a great starter piece for a mech fleet or trader run or something.

I can't make up my mind on carrier and armaa fleet. It gets the job done but on the other hand it took forever to disable a capital ship even when outnumbered 3 to 1 and the CR would have decayed by then. I just can't handle frigate class vessel very well in prolonged and large battle.

You should try Kouto and Valken EX cataphracts, Koutos are good at pressuring shields while Valken EX deal high HE damage, Valken (P) and normal Valken are garbage in comparison. Eisenflugs are also kinda shit, they are only good as interceptors so they aren't suited to fighting enemy ships directly.

It is, or just get few atlases until you have at least 5000+ cargo spaces and do delivery quests from bar. It net you around 200.000 just to lug cargos for a few light years without any real danger or investment other than your ship. Or just raid convoy if you want some thrill in space trucking, they're pinatas.
Kinda, but IMO it's more about missions and bounties just not offering enough reward. With how missions sometimes are inside redacted base systems, and bounties getting sniped by random fleets, commodities on the other hand can always be sold elsewhere when markets refresh.
