Demon Souls isn’t even that hard.
The toughest boss is King Allant and Flame Lurker, and they are a joke compare to modern bosses.
Beside, Demon Souls is fun for its atmosphere and level design, not the difficulty.

I killed flamelurker first try by kiting him around rocks or bones or whatever. weird because I was really bad at demon's souls. the only other boss I beat first time was that meme one down in the swamp.

The thing is, Demon's Souls is much less balanced than the later games, and some builds are objectively OP and some are objectively trash. Like for example, all metal armor in this game imposes heavy stamina regen penalties and it's so heavy you can't roll in it without heavy stat investment AND a special ring. Lightly armored mage with a crescent weapon (the meme falchion or better yet an uchi) is so much more powerful that yeah it feels like cheating kinda.

I spammed magic until endgame and then realized that crescent falchion +5 hits like a truck If you have 30 magic so i just spammed great warding and went melee for the last bosses. Felt good. Game felt too easy overall except that hell swamp and maybe latria (which i did first)

ER is pretty much THE FromSoft sorcery game. Game practically throws spells and staffs at you, and magic trivialises so many encounters it's not even funny. Plus you'll probably end up using the same 2-3 spells for most of the game.

I really do not understand what is fun about standing at max range from an enemy and shooting the same magic missile until they're dead. DeS had a lot of fun weapon movesets and to not engage with any of them feels baffling to me.
You act as if you can’t use both at the same time, and there are more to magic than magic arrow.
Firestorm is a good AoE to keep in case you get surrounded in a new area especially 5-1 and 5-2 when you first play the game.
Use soul ray if a group of soldiers followed you through a narrow passage. Use poison cloud to check for enemies behind corner.
Pro tip: use the thief ring and you can kill most enemies from a distance before they even react to you, feels good

Pretty much all of them except Bloodborne and Sekiro.
You even have more options when it comes to spells. Miracles, Pyromancy, and Sorcery.
If you enjoyed magic in Demon Souls then you have a lot more to look forward to.

In DS3 a mage is just a regular fighter that fires spells instead of slicing with a sword. You still have to dodge and get up in the enemies grill. There are a few exceptions like nameless king, but that boss is just trivialized so it isn't really a meaningful change.

I've been crunching some builds in ER by backing up my RL150 save, and you know, what's the fricking point of sorcery when Dark Moon Greatsword exists? On a right build with right talismans it shoots projectiles that hit for 2k damage and cost 0 FP, completely outclassing all spells.
