I went back and did Kingmaker Unfair (my second run, beat it once on hard at release) right after WotR so I had it fresh in my mind, and I too liked it more.

Kingmaker was based off Baldur's Gate, it's obvious what they were going for
Kingmaker feels more based on NWN2 than anything else in terms of ending the game at lvl 20 and getting your own lands to rule over (though in NWN2 that is delayed until the back end of the game while in Kingmaker it is central). Baldur's Gate 1 you end at, what, level 7 or 8 (it's been ages since I played it).
I don't know that you can easily relate BG1/2 to the Owlcat games. Wrath of the Righteous is weird because it is a standard levels campaign (1-20) but because of the mythic stuff you get this massive power surge that lets you challenge foes like demon lords you never could normally in such a campaign and even end the game at godhood. The latter I guess does relate it to ToB but ToB is epic levels (up to level 40 or so IIRC) and more appropriate for that scope.

I like Kingmaker more. It has a cozier more down to earth story, even with the fae. Kingdom management wasn't quite as annoying as army management but it still got annoying. What I wish you could do is automate the kingdom management except for the throne room events, which is really all the king should be mostly concerned with anyway I think.

I wanted to play Devil and thought Erinys are cool, in pathfinder lore they are usually fallen celestials so choosing an aasimar with Azata blood and going down the devil path seemed very logical to me. Alecto is one of the Furies (Erinyes) from Greek Mythology. Overall I really like the flavor of this character, and it's also strong as Hell.

I could have gotten devoted blade and bane I guess, or ghost touch for brilliant energy, you can't use dimension strike with ranged weapons though. I think you get more out of Eldritch Knight, because your capstone makes it so your next spell will be quickened if you crit, and if you use spellstrike on a quickened spell then you get to do two full-round attacks in a single round thanks to Owlcat code magic. Crossblooded is for the draconic bloodline and the fire elemental to turn all spell damage into fire so you can use a fire dealing acid splash, which has better synergy with items like Mallander's insult belt that adds extra damage whenever you deal fire damage, and later on to turn all hellfire ray damage into fire and fully benefit from Camellia's flame curse.

Outsider bodies are made of the souls that were used to create them and the essence of their plane, succubi (or outsiders in general really) can also freely shapeshift, you literally see a succubus turn herself into an old man in-game

If you play Pillars make sure to play the Cipher class. It's the devs pet class so they made it strong and locked a ton of unique interacts and dialogue options behind it.

I consider Bubble Buffs or BB Lite 100% necessary for this game. They don't let you cast spells you don't have and they don't 'give you' free spell slots, so there is no reason to not use them. They take a few minutes to tweak for your party every level as you get more spells, but it's worth it

str afaik but you can take finesse and it becomes a dex weapon
