Yeah, he doesn't fricking have chronic pain. I had surgery on my elbow and developed CP afterwards. Sitting around playing handhelds makes the pain worse. He's full of shit.

It took nintendo like 15 years to put a backlight in their handhelds

homie, that's like selling a car with no air conditioning in 2024 and saying "It took Ford 50 years to put air conditioning in their cars"
>is that thing on the side a crank to power it up?
lmao no. Everyone thinks that's what it's for the first time they see but it's actually just an input, as in a control you play games with like a joystick or a button

nah the crank is just an extra "input device", some games exclusive to it let you crank it to like make the character run and shit....
its weird and completely a gimmick
you can also fold the crank in, so they know its a gimmick, its strange when people have it out and at odd positions, pretty much means they are just posing their device rather than actually playing like that (or probably at all).

Steam Deck is literally the best way to play roms >dumped my favorite PS2 games >able to crank it to x4 upscale without any dips >log into retro achievements >install the plugins Steamdb, retroachievements, and playtime
It's basically remasters all of my ps2 games.
Call me zoomy but the achievements really adds to the experience. Gives me a reason to replay my favorites for a third or fourth time.
I like playtime trackers so I can ballpark how far into the game I am relative to the HowLongToBeat average. Though I wish Steam had something similar to the story % feature on PS5 where it just tells you how far along into the story you are.
What provokes a person to do this? He didn't reach out to Valve directly and personally to thank them. He didn't post it on his personal social media to tell his friends and family. No he decided to make a reddit post to the public world about being mentally ill and what fixed him was a video game console. This shit is a joke
It's easy to laugh at these posts, but if you've ever been dumped or cheated on, you know how much it hurts so I can't help but feel bad for these guys
>Get a Steam Deck OLED >All the new games are unoptimized besides Doom 2016 and Capcom games >Battery goes to 0% in 3 hours max
It was a mistake getting a deck.
>white hand >mentally ill >autistic
so sad seeing what israelites did to you people
will we ever see revenge or will they vanish without a wimper
just feel sorry for you homies
The Switch doesn't have it either. >What was Valve thinking?
It is either that good or they know you will buy the Deck.v2 by the time the screen is ruined.
Some new Samsung TVs are auto adjusting the screen constantly and they don't have refresh cycles. The Switch was torture tested by a Youtuber for 2 years on with max brightness on the exact same Zelda screenshot and it had no visible problems after 12 months, afterwards some faint on test screens and only at the end of the 2 years did it have visible issues (still not unplayable).
Manufacturers are getting bolder because these Oleds are way more resistant than the older ones and only really cause issues if you always play the same game. I'm using an LG Oled for game only and it has no issues after 2 years (~4600 hours).
I'm honestly more worried that many games don't use the deck's full screen. Often you'll have the top and bottom or sides not used so I'm worried those parts will become noticeably brighter over time.
Yeah that is a concern too which kind of doesn't exist on Switch as games are made for it. Monitors running content with black bars (constently) were had visible brightness differences during the tests just after 700 or so hours. Though Oled monitors are kind of iffy so I don't know how much that means for small screens. Oled stuff exist for a long time for phones, it is not exactly the same for small screens and different phones can age very differently.
>buy it to play emulated games only >each firmware update frick things up making it unplayable, need to always have backup saves and reinstal everything back >last time fried my 512GB micro sd, lost everything
Yeah I was great when it was working but I won't buy any device like this ever again.
I hate handhelds and laptops but years of pc gaming plus now working at a PC all day is giving me all sorts of ass/thigh problems. Gonna have to get a deck methinks so I can move around more.
There is no point to the Steam Deck.
If you want mobile gaming, do it on your phone.
If you want a portable PC, get a laptop.
What possible solution is there that the Steam Deck fixes?
I'll wait for an answer.
unironically what did he mean by this
According to the post, autism, ADHD and chronic pain
>overcoming chronic pain by playing a 1kg handheld
Yeah, he doesn't fricking have chronic pain. I had surgery on my elbow and developed CP afterwards. Sitting around playing handhelds makes the pain worse. He's full of shit.
>develops cheese pizza
why are deckies like this
who says it's on his hands morons
>Switch causes Munchausens

I love playing video games on my Valve Steam Deck

>screen needs the fricking sun to shine directly on it to be visible and even then isn't that bright
imagine being enough of a prick to specifically take your selfie with this queer little hipster device in front of an iconic backdrop
>iconic backdrop
What place is that? It looks like a generic modern port town
thing looks like a humiliation ritual
It took nintendo like 15 years to put a backlight in their handhelds
>It took nintendo like 15 years to put a backlight in their handhelds
homie, that's like selling a car with no air conditioning in 2024 and saying "It took Ford 50 years to put air conditioning in their cars"
skill issue

>is that thing on the side a crank to power it up?
lmao no. Everyone thinks that's what it's for the first time they see but it's actually just an input, as in a control you play games with like a joystick or a button
that's lame. the crank should totally power it
nah the crank is just an extra "input device", some games exclusive to it let you crank it to like make the character run and shit....

You cannot convince me that this shit isn't some money laundering scheme.
Looks queer coded

How well does it emu 6th gen?
>zoomers can't play games without achievements and playtime tracker
Steam ruined PC gaming
I hate playtime trackers so fricking much, bros.
I like playtime trackers so I can ballpark how far into the game I am relative to the HowLongToBeat average. Though I wish Steam had something similar to the story % feature on PS5 where it just tells you how far along into the story you are.

I just want to play Mega Drive ROMs you fricking pricks!

what compels redditards to expose their pathetic lives like this?
Just like how you're addicted to (You)s, they are addicted to likes and upboats.

It's a $500 computer--what the frick were you expecting?
he was expecting current gen console specs and thought "a $500 PC is just as good as a console" was unconditionally true
You expected a 15W handheld to be as fast as the 300W PS5?
I expect valve to work miracles and gaben to singlehandedly make half life 3.
7 hour battery life btw
chad caring about good games instead of new games
hello bots about to reply to me
We got another one boys
I miss the times when a DS reached to 12 hours of battery life, modern handheld are a joke.

That sub is full of morons.
Best purchase I've made in ages. Owning one should be a requirement to post on Ganker.
I have a ROG ally.
Aside from the weak battery, I don’t regret it.
How is the performance/gaming on it
Can you run modern games on it fine?
I just played cyberpunk at medium settings and got 40-60fps @ 1080p
wish I was that girthy
Why are shills back to making daily threads about this thing?
Seems like it's because it's the greatest gaming device ever made.
Why do pRedditors have zero self-awareness? Most people would realize how cringe this is before posting.
the Steam Deck is so shit that I dropped it after I got my DS and 3DS
Where'd you get your time machine?
Damn, Steam Deck skins expensive.
They are shit just there to overheat the console
Eh it can't be that bad, could it?
If you play games that require a lot and eat battery like for example Tales of Arise, yes its just overheating it for no reason
I have a dbrand skin on my deck and haven’t had any issues with overheating
Wasn't expecting the speakers to be as good as they are.
>no pixel refresh or other OLED care features
What was Valve thinking?
The Switch doesn't have it either.

What boot animation do you guys use? I'm using this
https://steamdeckrepo.com/post/PbmLY/gamecube_style_steam_deck_boot
Hopefully the screen is that good because I doubt the Deck 2 is more than 2 years away.

Why can't it run battlefield 2042

with a claw like that I think the problem was physical
deck sisters... what's for dinner tonight?
I know it's probably gotta be a really rare coincidence, but it'd probably be pretty good to have some adhoc multiplayer games for the steam deck.
Photo of jerking off at them together where?
>He played Alan Wake at an Alan Party

Magic mushrooms and legally prescribed amphetamines is what helped me overcome my long-standing mental health issues
drug aren't bad, they're alright
I am beginning to think tendies are less of a cult than deckgays

Sorry guys
My retroid pocket 2s is the definitive way to play roms
I don't make the rules
I don't get it.
to be honest Steam Deck is based for using Linux but you are still buying digital licenses for games you dont own
Ideally gog would make their own handheld built on Linux too
GOG can't even be arsed to release a Linux client.
steam is the only vidya store client for linux users?
I think itch.io has one but yeah, Steam is the only relevant store with a Linux client.
>buying an overpriced manchilds toy when theres better hardware out there
