your comment is as polished and finished as the imperator rome game

        frick polish
I rather have ambitious buggy mess rather than empty polished shit.
It really felt that IMP release priotized polish over anything else. They probably stopped implementing new mechanics 6 months before the release and just started polishing shit.

How does the conversion from Imperator to CK2 go? I don't have Imperator myself, but I'm curious how the converters handle the timeskip.

I converted to Ck3, my ruler was like 2000 years old at the start but lasted until he had 2 sons and died, I played as his like 10 year old son and he was a magnificent ruler and died at the age of 128, you start with alot of the family renown so I completed 2 and a half trees off the bat and then spent my first rulers life reforming and diverging Macadonian culture to be more loyal so no one wanted to leave the empire and since you start with primogeniture you really don't lose land and my vassels did alot of expanding for me, here is the fresh convert from imp

      unironically better than EU4

don't these campaign carry-forwards make the games too easy?

        Anonymous

I limited myself to prevent that, I leveled out the HE at the end of IMP to make the boarders better, I personally only took Judea in Ck3 as my buddy played them in IMP, that's why they survived and my vassels did the rest but that game was just fighting myself since I had ALOT of cultures from Imp and I put the setting on Ck3 for hybrid cultures to be on high , EU4 was actually a little hard since I'm not that good at the game and same with Victoria.

Blame pirategays, this game would still be supported if not for them

When I saw Rome making a thin line to Denmark without owning Sicily, the Antigonids existing in 6 different landlocked places simultaneously, all Egypt down to Nubia becoming Greek and Albion unifying before the tribes even reform, I just KNEW that the damn pirates were at fault

Yep never even bothered pirating it or ck3 .Both looked like shit even when people tried to shill them.I usually try out all paradox titles to see if they are worth buying.

such a shame because their is so much gold in the mechanics.

Every game I check for if I have any hebrew pops and instantly set their rights to slavery.

It had interesting ideas, but Arrheon had several interesting mechanics away with the bath pater.
Like Johan had the idea that assigning troops to the governors would decrease unrest, so you be forced to spread your forces.
But he fricked it up, because assigned units only had a minor impact on unrest, instead, they had a major impact on the governor's power project which made them more likely to revolt. Therefore there was no point in assigning troops to governors.
All they had to do is increase their impact of unrest and decrease power projection gained.

      >their is so much gold in the mechanics.
      >their
I will actually allow it, simply because that sentence makes more sense this way, rather than idiotic claim there was anything but spaghetti in the mechanics.

It is good, just play it with Invictus mod (pretty much essential). Yes, it's a map painter, but so is EU4. If you like EU4 then there's no reason you would hate I:R unless you hate the time period.

    >Sure there was multiple ways
Not really. PDX, in their monumental hubris, decided to remake one of their worst and most panned games, while being modern PDX at that. There was only one result, no matter what they would do - abysmal failure.
    >b-but mods
Still the same fundamentally broken game under the hood, with different styles and flavours of the brokeness over the update
    >b-but 2.0
Still broke the already broken game few additional times, for it reinforced "one size fits all" approach, so the only way to play the game with 2.0 is be a massive blob and preferably also not a Greek.
