2nding this, I pirated the game for nostalgia last year and it constantly crashed, even after spending hours trying to fix it. All of the usual fixes didn't do jack shit, it's just made for Xbox 360 unfortunately.

Saints Row 1 was really cool for its time. It was before GTA4, so for a lot of us with 360s it was our first "next gen" gta experience. San Andreas with less crazy shit but with next gen graphics controls etc. It filled a gap for a lot of us, and was cool on its own right
I also still remember the adverts for SR2 mocking gta4, like if you'd rather go bowling or spray people with shit. GTA4 really made Saint Row on an engine and gameplay perspective look like ass, thats true, and I couldn't go back to playing SR1 after. But SR2 was much more its own thing that separated it, I put more time into it than GTA4 back then, the best part about it for me was the tone of the story.
I dropped off after SR3
The fist two Saints Row are legitimately cool, the city is neately build, and back in the days, even after like 200 hours on SR2 I still had fun, there was always some secret I'd discover. It was so nice. I wish there would have been some way to make custom missions, this would have been awesome.

How bad is the port?
Ranges from bad to completely unplayable.
GotR helps and makes it playable, or at least it did last time I tried it like 7 years ago.

my game crashed constantly until I started playing it on windowed mode and capped the frames to 30, which is console frames....
holy frick I didn't even think to cap it at 30 but I did try widescreen fixes and windowed and w/e else
Well, the game isn't stable passed 30 frames so I figured if I cap it at 30 it would be stable, and of course the game ran stable at 30 fps.

Yes. Flippy has a video on how to get all the dlc + patches working on xenia so you have the full package to play with
