I'm learning Javascript so that I can become a web developer so that I can make decent money and actually be able to retire someday.
Once I'm retired, development will go into full swing.
I expect my game to release in about 40 years.
I do graphics but finding work even if you're skilled is fricking impossible where I'm from. It's all about the code because boomers think code = money. Gimmme advice, how should I go about learning to code? What language should I use if I primarily use unreal 4 and mod sekiro
Close to alpha test.
Gonna test steam deployment this week
Already did it for my own workstation so I guess that's for nothing but whatever, can't hurt to have the game running on a different machine.
>if I primarily use unreal
C++
Start with C# or Python if you have never done anything related to programming before.
This is romantically hopeful talk that never gets anything done.
People always recommend the biggest, longest, most expansive books and lectures on Ganker because they think owning them alone already grants them "big brain power".
What they don't realize is that, what you really have to do to learn anything is actually doing it.
Yes you need theory, but you'll have to apply it as soon as possible.
Digging yourself through some material that not even experts have fully read and mostly just use as reference books in all likelihood won't get you anywhere.
In fact, you will most likely fall asleep not even halfway in.

I can't wait that long
I'll never finish it, just keep redoing stuff forever.

It's going well! We're at 92 wishlists, we've got quite a few RTs for our giveaway and we're slowly getting more views on YouTube. Hurray!
Cancelled due to Godot being shit.

Cheers you guys, I'm 30 so might be a bit late for me but people love my work for sekiro so I gotta be worth something in the industry.
unironically SICP
You could also try https://htdp.org/2018-01-06/ if SICP is to challenging
Also watch the CS50 course lectures online
Then find the most well regarded book you can for the language of your choice.

Get a simple programming work book instead.
Even a dummies book is fine.
Or even a proper udemy course.
As long as it complements little bits of theory with large bites of exercise it should be fine.
