>school centric story may make it feel more like a field trip than an adventure

>the game is on the switch and has both open world and 4 player online co-op, recipe for lag disaster

Not particularly. If it continues through the next few trailers there might be some room for suspicion though. Gamefreak is out of touch but they aren't that bad, as far as I can tell. Custom clothes have been one of the most praised features, kept in since the 3ds era.
Babies don't care about clothes and you have to remember that this is a game for babies. Don't forget to praise GameFreak for their consumer-oriented approach.
And they're here to stay but each game follows a certain stylistic choice with it's outfits and this game chose school uniforms. I don't need a leaker to tell me that either it's obvious from the trailers. They aren't going to hide regular clothes as some kind of reveal dude.

Not all of them. In fact this sounds like the largest new roster since gen 5 so even if 40 or so were recolors there would still be a greater number of brand new mons

Huh but isn't base BDSP like 8gb? There was some pretty big updated but I assumed it was from all the bug fixes they had to do. I wouldn't put it past Game Freak to cheap out though.
The actual cartridge BDSP is on is the smallest one you can order, and once you get it on your switch it updates.
The funny part is that once the Switch eshop goes down your game will be worthless even if you have it on a cart.
Unless a reprinted cartridge exists, eventually.
You'd need to download and save the patch on a game cartridge and then trick the console to think it's downloading from the eshop. Or patch the game and then put it on a cartridge. You can't even finish BDSP without the patch, not to mention all the placeholders.

Everything after 5th gen has been shit, and now that the atrocious travesty that is legends arceus is as popular as it is, there's no question whether all new pokemon games will be some versions of that. Pokemon is ruined, forever. They can't even fricking remake the older pokemons without failing horribly, and they wouldn't need to do anything aside from updating graphics and mechanics, but even that is too much for them. How do you expect them to make a good game from scratch? It's just shit 3D graphics, horrible gimmicks, terrible designs, terrible attempts at creating something new instead of something good etc.
