NTA but cables are hardly the problem. Type C plugs are annoying to deal with because the chip inside, whatever it's called, either gets bent out of position or completely falls out so your device becomes useless.

i hate them for a different reason, obviously it doesn't happen on a controller because you don't put it in your pocket but for some reason an unholy amount of dust/lint/whatever finds its way in there and becomes fossilized and i have to scrape it out with a sewing needle every 6-12 months because otherwise the cable falls right out
i swear to fricking god that never happened with my old phones and i don't understand why

I assume because Type C ports are a lot smaller than your average USB Port so it's a lot easier for gunk to get stunk in there. Microsoft, as well as other companies didn't think it would happen, but it definitely ruins modern tech a lot faster. You're better off investing in a Pro Controller since you won't run into this problem. The only thing you'll have to worries about is the cord being frayed, but at least it's easily replicable.

            gunk can get everywhere

because the connections have changed over time (READ: contacts got smaller)

everything has been optimized for space balanced with performance, but not necessarily longevity

interference and general computer schizophrenia is limited by wiring optimized with the principles of longevity balanced with performance picrel

Don't be so sure. I had this same issue with a playstation controller and b***hed for a year about "shitty controller ports" only to use a different cable and find out that was the issue.

buy one of these they're cheaper than batteries you thank me later

Rechargeable batteries also shortens controller lifespans. I've been using them for years because I got tired of spending hundreds of dollars on batteries, but the inside eventually becomes melted, or the metal things that supposed to keep batteries in place becomes bent so stops powering the controller.

Because you buy them once and reuse them. It doesn't take much brain power to figure that out.
