No newcomers = no future for the game, and with a lot of the old guard retiring the Smash scene had to do something to make easier for young talent to not get frustrated with a character specific infinite and quitting the scene entirely
Wobbling to be fair was banned initially, it is only because of EVO being a bunch of b***hes that it became standard to begin with long after. And now it is just reverting back to its initial state.
