Yea, this guy's got it. Fallout is fun, but STALKER is more engaging.
Idk, how these kids play stalker these days, it's suffocating. I feel accomplished but tired after playing.

you feel tired after stalker? really? i feel tired after playing fallout man. there is so much shit. you go do one quest and once you get to the quest destination, you pick up 20 more quests. its never ending. as a completionist it got exhausting after like 15 hours

It's those mod packs, man. I tried some out because all the zoomers liked em. They're good fun, but it very difficult. Which is good if you're into that, I happen to be so it works out but one mistake, one lapse in judgment and you lose 15 minutes of creeping through the Zone.

            >one lapse in judgment and you lose 15 minutes of creeping through the Zone.
oh. i only played vanilla and some graphical mods, never any hardcore mods like anomaly or gamma yet.

I wouldn't bother unless you like the idea of it.
I personally use the REALISM pack, made by an old school Russian Stalker modder.
I like the gameplay, patching yourself up after a bad firefight, sitting around a campfire reloading mags or reading the PDA, performing weapon maintenance, that's fun for me.

Bear in mind that the mod actually looks better than the video, idk what's up with this guy's lighting and it's a year old.
All the shilling I'll do, I promise.

stalker beats fallout by a country mile because bethesda owned fallout has been a disaster

STALKER, it does the post-apocalyptic vibe better somehow, despite it taking place in a largely "regular" world

For me it's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. It's a grounded science fiction universe, where every character is real as it gets and everyone is surviving in this hazardous environment out of pure greed.
Fallout on the other hand is a Fantasy post-apoc narrative, which it does gets as ridiculous as it could get. With all the quips and silly lines. I rather pick Starfield over Fallout.

i always get filtered with stalkers tutorial, the other games look way better (especially anomaly) but everyone spergs out and says you need to play SoC first

      >you need to play SoC first
You must, tho. It introduces a key character to whom the franchise moves around to. It's like watching the Two Towers without first watching the Fellowship, you'll end up missing key point to the story.

I wish. I could have used my time to play something better instead of the good awful last 20% of the game.

        Funneled?

Looks like a paper filter of some sort

STALKER just disgusts me on a fundamental level. It's bog standard "realistic zombie (except it isn't)" media that idiots absolutely love, but it fails at doing that as well. Fallout on the other hand has so much character, and it's actually a good game too. And when I say Fallout I mean the California games.

Games aren't really similar. One is an RPG (or at least it was until 4 came along) and STALKER is more survival horror / action, although there are for sure many moments, mostly in New Vegas, that were even more terrifying then STALKER, namely all the abandoned vaults, the spore carrier vaults and the ghoul vault the most. STALKER has that all the way through. I'd say they're hard to compare unless you go over what to look for and what games you wanna include.
