You say this with every new iteration of monster hunter. Both base game and expansion.
Monster Hunter is possibly the only reason Capcom didn't die 10 years ago when Inafune convinced them to burn resources and clout on Western outsourcing for 7 years straight. Which caused the death of multiple franchises and almost bankrupted the company.

resident evil was actually what held capcom's head above the water. 5 & especially 6 sold moronicly well.

While every single portable MH in that period also sells moronicly well on top of being way cheaper to make

And they came out like every two years. Unlike a new Resident Evil at the time. Or Fighting game.

I'm having fun and not buying into this recent trend of cynicism towards this series that started with Worlds release.

    >franchise is dying
    >more sales than ever
Only claim you could valid is "being diluted" or "easier" but even that is a far fetched statement because for example healing:
-you had to stand and end animation but you could fast swap locations to heal safely
-now you can drink while walking and interupt but there are no transitions so monster can chase you everywhere

I would say that 2 newest games have too influential gimmicks(clutch claw and bugs) that make you too dependent on them because health of monster and pace of the game is balanced around them

My biggest gripe is that hunts are too short in rise, most of the mobs before mutated ones(or whatever they were called) die in 10 minutes tops with suboptimal skills (I mostly use QoL, only offensive skill that I have on high number is affinity)

I hope the next one won't have moronic gimmick that you have to use or suffer

Not dying in the sense of sales, but dying by turning into a fast paced action game for dps addicts, i agree

Even with the limited release of Rise, didn’t both World and Rise do really well financially? World sold crazy numbers, and for something only one PC and switch, Rise did well.

Last time I looked it up Rise sold something like 10.5m
