usually that happens when you introduce a mary sue to the cast

Truly Makoto is the ultimate midwitfilter.

Everyone in the crew (and indeed all your social links) has their own niche, Ryuji is the muscle, Ann is the looks, Yusuke is an artist and Makoto was the brains. She didn't make Ryuji and Ann dumb they were dumb from the beginning and (you) were carrying their dumb asses.

They were already useless. Honestly, though, in these games the MC is so overpowered you don't even need the rest of the team.

they took Chie tried to fuse her with Yukiko but lost boths' charm. When you mix positive and positive you just get repulsion.

Makoto is more like Mitsuru and Aigis put into one.

Kaneshiro's arc was utter ass, but Ryuji and Ann were morons from the beginning.

Kaneshiro's arc made me feel like I'm playing a game for children. You take out a comic relief mustache twirling clown, not a mafia boss. After the relatively serious tone of the previous two, it was outright embarrassing.
And then you have elite hacker arc.
Makoto has nothing to do with why the story went to shit

I agree completely, one of the main issues with Persona 5 was the fact that the cast couldn't realistically have interactions with most of the villains in the game and your only real reference to the villains in question were through their Shadows at which point they were Saturday morning cartoon mode. Kamoshida was so beloved because there were a high number of interactions with both his real self AND his Shadow, if we just interacted with his Shadow he'd be equally as shit as the rest of the villains.

The drop during the mid game was serious shit.
The characters never really become "great", at most they're entertaining and at worst they're annoyingly stupid. Overall I think the game's story was pretty good and then became great in the later part of the game. It has some solid themes, foreshadowing and progression but the character writing is bad and the pacing throughout the entire game is unforgivably shit.

homie what. Futaba is the second worse after okumura

I thought it was great, everything from the dungeon and story was really Nice. The only thing I didn't really like about it was the boss fight.

                >The fact that futaba is randomly a prodigy hacker more powerful than anonymous is the most bullshit part of p5.
Persona 3 (my first persona game) had a robot girl with emotions and a dog as a party member while Mitsuru was moronicly rich enough to afford anything whenever she wanted.
I didn't even blink at Futaba's over the top hacker antics.

having more bullshity characters in the franchise doesnt justify it either tho

Futuba isn't really randomly a prodigy, her mother is established to be one of the premier scientists in the field of pseudo science and the metaverse and one of the people who kick start the events of the game.

Futaba is an excellent change of pace and the Pyramid is a fantastic dungeon.

Madarame was solid, only a small step down from Kamoshida, it was really similar and Yusuke is one of the stronger personalities who joins the party

I actually like Madarame way more as a villain. Kamoshida is very obviously a scumbag everyone is covering for, Madarame actually makes the PT second guess themselves

Kaneshiro and Okumura are definitely the low points but while they're both lame villains I thought the bank was actually a really great dungeon and the way the story moves because of Okumura were really neat.
