The movement in this game was not designed for boss fights. Every boss fight in this game is artificial difficulty because you hobble around like an old man with arthritis.
The movement in this game was not designed for boss fights. Every boss fight in this game is artificial difficulty because you hobble around like an old man with arthritis.
The bosses are also slow.
Birkin fight 3 is not slow. If he hits you once he can stunlock you in a corner and there's literally nothing you can do to get out.
False
Mr. X is not a boss.
>Mr.X is not a boss.
?feature=shared
>False
I've done it with both characters and I'm mediocre at vidya
I completed every single challenge in RE4 remake and that's a fair game because it gives you the mobility needed to dodge bosses. RE2 is Dark Souls bosses without the dodge button and is a load of horseshit.
Nah, you're just shit
Not possible.
i did it without hud and crosshair, thats true og
experience
>False
I S+ it and I'm bad at video games. Git gud scrub
If you're aware that your movement is slow why are you letting them get close enough to stunlock
OP is obviously just dogshit at the game
>stun locked
I’ve beat this game 20 times and thats never happened to me.
Birkin 3 is piss easy shit
As Claire, you can infinitely stunlock him to death via acid grenades
As Leon, just pop the eyes and 600 fuel flamethrower will kill him
It's not that difficult to beat on Hardcore anon, git gud
>he didn't use the punch dodge method on mr x
I heard you guys were talking about remakes
what claim is this webm trying to make exactly? they both look fine
You're moronic if you genuinely can't tell whats wrong. Watch it again
>Watch it again
ok
That one is all on you pal, I don't know what you expected honestly.
overall REmake4 plays way better than original just like Des remake. biggest gripe was not being able to make hole in doors.
>plays better than the original
re4 was worst thing that happened to horror games, its fricking arcade shooter more than survival horror.
>stop having fun
Why do they do this? it's not "realistic", even i can move faster than that. You're not playing as a fatass, this is a heavily trained agent in a survival situation and the fricking guy struggles to slowly and sluggishly shift his body weight on a different direction. Stop this nonsense.
Yes it is realistic dummy, you aren’t going to shift directions or walk backwards at full speed on uneven ground in heavy boots in hostile territory unless you’re actively in combat, which is exactly what RE4R does. Go to a playground and move as fast as he does on the left, you’ll trip over something almost instantly.
We literally had an obstacle course in an event at our gym where you had to rapidly change direction carrying very light weight and had to remove it from the course almost immediately because even very fit people kept getting injured. You grossly overestimate your balance at speed - everyone does.
resident evil was never about fast walking you moron.
>Why do they do this?
They don't, deranged webmspammer is lying as usual
>leon has to dramatically turn his back to go backwards
your proved the point
No I didn't, Leon had to "dramatically" turn around in the original while running. The Remake can do it right away or you can walk backward normally instead. Nothing changed except you can move sideways
Eat shit
Everything changed because they removed tank controls, moron
No, it didn't
>>the windup turning left and right
Actually shorter than the delay on turning to sprint in the original, disingenuous Black person.
Suddenly contrarians got very quiet.
>the windup turning left and right
>some idiot thought this was an own against webmposter
YIIIIIIIIKES
>play with a keyboard
>problem solved
NTA but I prefer the snappy movement of RE4's controls.
The remake has slight delay and heaviness from more realistic body animations. Not unplayably bad like RDR2 but it isn't as responsive.
Just aim faster
Do you camp the remake threads to post this dumb shit all the time? moronic autist homosexual.
morons all the animations play slower, the game is slower and less arcade because it tries way too hard to make the animations "LE REALISTICCCC" instead of actually caring about being fun
>morons all the animations play slower, the game is slower
false, but we get it, you didn't play the game
I'm trans btw
Is he trying to scare off a bear?
Well I dont see any bears standing around
The jazz hands afterwards in the remake completely ruins it.
>The jazz hands afterwards in the remake completely makes it based.
Fixed your typo
This tbdesu, let Hunk savor the feeling of snapping necks for a moment.
Real ones you know you shoot their legs and the kick is an AOE attack.
the original does look better. Better colors for sure
Out fricking skilled
These are all terrible webms. Why show us how bad you suck lol
You deserve it for taking that long to put a bullet in her.
and if i put a baby in her instead?
just use cheats and stop complaining you shitter.
Birkin literally just attacked me THROUGH A GRENADE without being staggered, this is artificual difficulty at its finest.
Literally git gud
I'm a fricking noob at vidya but even I could beat re2r with no damage and no item box at all.
>here's a tool that deals damage and staggers
>LOL NEVERMIND THE STAGGER ONLY WORKS 50% OF THE TIME
artificial difficulty
Not OP but suuure you can
not claiming that he did but it's completely possible
The game is less than an hour and a half long. Doing a no damage run is just a matter of getting good at the boss fights.
Sure you can
Skill issue. Boss fights are arguably the best part of the RE engine games. Very intuitive and the movement is great.
My GTX 1050 laptop can't run RE4 🙁
its close to original so its fine
Ruining the aesthetics is just part and parcel of remaking Resident Evil games.
>shorter cutscene
>this is somehow worse
The cutscene is a few seconds longer and that time is used to actually show the boss transforms. Rem4ke just has a bizarre cut
right is a more realistic reaction someone has to being shot by a shotgun. if you knew anything about physics you would know why that is.
ok? realism isn't always better, it's about what's fun and how the shooting feels
you mean constant head popping and quick time fishing, with less fluid tacticool?
so if instead of being sent flying back 6 feet when getting shot, the enemy instead turned into a dragon and breathed fire, that would be better since it's less realistic?
>describe some rad shit and pretend it wouldnt be cool as frick
How does that make a shotgun feel impactful? You know where the line is and you're acting moronic on purpose.
>gun that turns enemies into dragons isn't more impactful than just a normal shotgun
moron. the game would be impacted far more if it also had dragons flying around breathing fire
Anon, you're moronic. Guns actually do have concussive properties, as is often exaggerated in media that emphasizes stylistic action for many decades now.
Gun actually do not have transformative properties, so having buckshot transform a character into another character, it would probably not result in making the buckshot feel impactful to the player.
the changes to the shotgun are a result of changes to the role of the shotgun: it's not a crowd control tool anymore but a cheap single target killer.
so instead of fancy flips you get to bisect ganados
>playing games for realism that aren't sims
>playing shooters for realism ever
>less style
>no transformation, just model swap
>final product looks like less effort despite probably being 10x as much
yeah, worse
Yeah it's such a bizarre change. You'd think it would have been the other way around (older game just switches to him instantly transformed, newer game puts in more effort and animates the guy transforming).
Replayed this last week and struggled to beat Birkin 2 for some reason, couldn't get the timing right and was absolutely seething, always could beat him 1-2 tries and then this
Birkin is dishonest game design.
I love the movement in this game. Leon and Claire feel perfectly tuned to make it realistic but you can master it.
Is this thread a psyop to make people associate the "dishonest" criticism with lack of skill?
A boss having literal multi-string combos that you cannot block or dodge, with jank hitboxes, is dishonest game design.
>Dude saves and regularly spams posts of people playing the game like shit and then cries "See the game is shit!"
Actual skill issue
I like how the bottom picture tells me that there is sex discrimination there, powerful statement
Resident evil 4 OG is one of the few games where the piss filter actually enahnces the game, it just fits the setting and the atmosphere perfectly. Getting rid of it in the remake and changing it for the blue grey cold generic filter was a huge mistake, but it's understandable, new games (even remakes) are not allowed to have any personality.
Don't tell me you're actually using auto-sort as some kind of criticism. Just don't use it, moron.
>don't tell me you're actually using legalized euthanasia as some kind of criticism of canada. Just don't use it, moron.
that's not the gotcha you think it is
/misc/ really does rot the brain, huh?
>random /misc/ accusation out of nowhere
The bots are being very brazen today
Bro your aim sucks you should at least hit 70%
How do you get through life being so petty?
You're not supposed to write that in the past tense ESL-kun
I'm pretty sure euthanasia in Canada is an issue that's more closely related to politics than videogames, Black person.
>I dont understand comparisons
How would you have felt if you hadn't eaten breakfast yesterday?
Food analogy
>random /misc/ accusation out of nowhere (your words)
it's not random if you brought up a political issue first you knuckle-dragging ape.
bringing up a political issue doesn't imply /misc/, maybe if I brought something up about wars or gays or trannies or some shit but euthanasia in canada is a normalgay political topic
Which board on this website actually cares about and discusses euthanasia in Canada? I'll give you a hint: It starts with a P.
I accept your concession.
This is irrelevant
I don't use /misc/ and nothing I wrote implies that
Do you think that the only avenue by which one will learn about euthanasia in canada is pol?
Your concession has been accepted, there's no need for further replies.
Irrelevant

>dismissive commentary
that's peak concession
>b-but
you lost
>pic
Surprised he didn't show up yesterday to shill Crapcomslop.
>that hair sweeping
HNNNGGGGHHHH
>remake bad because uhhh... t-there's no thunder!
This homie is getting desperate at this point lol
You're getting desperate if you have to stoop to nitpicking a visual / atmosphere webm and not one of the many gameplay webms I posted
There's thunder when you step outside of that room. Why not show it happening through the window when you're inside?
You'll be surprised if you realize that thunder didn't always work that way
>this homie
Is this ironic shitposting or an actual paid shill?
Left is pretty but I thought right was interesting
Goddamn the original RE4 has aged like milk in terms of gameplay and visuals.
>THE GAME... LE AGED! ITS TOO LE HECKIN JANKERINO! HOW CAN I PLAY THIS NOW??
have a nice day midwit.
>The game aged, it's too jank
Correct
Wow, look at this pervert. Guess there's no sex discrimination in this post...
hey fanboy moron we all played original resident evil trough 20 times. it almost ruined the whole franchise and direction was down until re7, we can even argue re7 being better fricking Resident Evil game.
RE7 is poorly paced, has two enemy types , dumps you ammo before a boss fight in the most artificial way possible and Ethan in that game is the most boring protagonist ever made. The puzzles are dogshit, the survival is artificial as frick and lacks a hardcore difficulty. Game is hard carried by Jack Baker.
jack not being an entire game threat was a mistake, margerine and the gay in the hoody sucked
You're right, it doesn't fit this soulless era at all. No dev open today would be able to make RE4 today even if they wanted to, which they don't.
and how it turned all modern horror games into shooters, it gave birth to games like alan wake and then TLOU and now silent hill remake looks fricking like TLOU
You are trolling
It has nothing to do with the movement, its just terrible boss design in general. Its easily the worst thing about the game and its why I don't replay it often if ever.
Food analogy
The pizza on the left is far better.
Any pizza that has anything that isn't the bread, tomato sauce and cheese is not a true pizza.
>put some basil on my pizza for heterogeneity
>mfw its suddenly not pizza anymore
Food analogy
It wasn't an analogy. I literally was just talking about the pizza.
>for heterogeneity
Which is unnecessary.
OP here. Just beat him. He's a poorly-designed boss and overall detracts from the game. Should have been a cutscene instead of 3 fights.
OP, you're just a shitter. Replay the game and learn. This thread is obviously now for zoomer/millenial tribalism over RE4.
So the villagers like mustard? What's the big deal?
makes me sick, thank God you could mod this out as early as the demo
had an easier time with this games bosses then OG2s
The biggest issue with [YELLOW PAINT] is that capcom are so moronic theyll put like 4-5 ladders in an area and only one of which is climbable, so they have to paint the special one because the environment artists are morons
the yellow paint thing would be a valid complaint in a vacuum where you were specifically criticizing the remake and not making any comparisons. but coming the perspective that the og is better and using yellow paint as an example is not valid since the og instead had magical beams of colored light that stood out even more.
>magical beams of colored light
What are you talking about? ogre4 just uses a brighter glow-ish material for breakable objects. It stands out and is very videogamey. but its fits in to the environment far more than yellow paint
You're literally making the exact same comparison as pic
Only on enemy drops, not even all pick-ups like those placed in deliberate spots on the map.
If the perspective that HEY moron LOOK HERE aesthetics are bad, then RE4 has far less of that than the remake.
I don't understand the pic on the right though.
>can I break the box or not?
>am i supposed to pick up that green thing?
>Is that door the right way to go?
>Am I supposed to climb the brick wall instead?!
Wtf is this stupid shit? Terrible game design
OG4 had similar but far less egregious problems. Some crates and boxes you can break, and others you cant. its easy to learn from the one instance of you trying to break the ones you cant but thats a specific GAMER problem
Everything was brown in RE4. Nobody has time to hit every single thing in the game to see if it breaks. That just fricks up the pacing adding to the already bad game design.
>zoomer can't navigate windows folder hierarchy
>zoomer wallhumps in RE4 as well because he can't remember what a breakable crate looks like
grim
I accept your concession thoughbeit
The yellow paint discussions really just expose who played the game and who didn't. RE4 remake is signifcantly more detailed than the original, so whereas in the original interactable objects contrasted well against the world, they don't in the remake.
>rem4ke webm schizo emptied his folder and left
kek
Every single time
OP here can the RE4 homosexuals please frick off? This thread is about how RE2 is bullshit unfair game design.
its fine git gud allready.
play it on
-hardcore
-ink ribbons
-no hud
-no crosshair
or you didint beat it.
I'm on hardcore homosexual.
what are you on about? use a trainer like a normal white man
>resident evil thread exists
>the resident RE4R schizo posts his entire folder
OH GOOD YOU GET TO FIGHT MR. X ON AN ELEVATOR
AND HE MOVES FASTER THAN YOU
AND YOU HAVE A 5-MINUTE WALK TO REPEAT IF YOU DIE
VERY FRICKING COOL CRAPCOM
not having a save point right here is dishonest game design
You can circle him forever till he does his charge which is the actual danger in that fight at which point you stun him or use the rubble. He can't turn fast enough to clip you with his regular swings once you know this. Like pretty much every enemy in the game it's just about spacing yourself properly. Stuff like dogs and lickers are the exception since they outpace you most of the time unless you are doing speedrun strats to avoid them reliably.
Resident Evil has always been good games centered around terrible controls
You know why G4 is such a fat piece of shit? He eats a million bullets and has space for more after.
Dead Space perfected the TPS survival horror genre. So why don't these companies simply copy that formula?
Bosses have legitimately ruined my enjoyment of this game, and I've left a negative review on Steam as a result. The game simply does not respect the player's time.
>This is the audience Capcom wants
This is why it didn't come with fixed camera tank controls and I'm furious about it.
Yeah the controls were shit but "immersive" which kind of hurt REmake4 despite being great everywhere else and the knife parry compensated for it
Also that anon claiming you need to go behind the enemy back to suplex is a stupid moron.
For decades I’ve been saying the key to a good boss fight is the ability to dodge, dash, thrusts, or roll. Bosses have marge health pools so the fight with them is going to be prolonged, so you need to be able to manoeuvre around their attacks. It doesn’t work very well with just a jump button in games where your movement is excruciatingly slow.
>bosses have marge health pools
The bosses in this game are all slow as frick, none of them can outrun you.
>Zoomers now getting filtered by Resident Evil remakes from the late 2010s-early '20s
It's a cakewalk compared to the tank controls of the original. Strafe, reload, look for more ammo. It's not hard, just play the game. I'm a casual shitter who plays everything on the easiest mode and RE2 2019 has some of the snappiest controls I've ever used
You are trash bro.
