Is Ishikawa making FF17 or not? I want a new online game with better graphics and CC and hey lets have namae do the art too, make the ultimate bishoujo game
I ended up playing through the story through to the end of Endwalker. I then felt very little drive to finish playing the game. The story had concluded, but I still had some time left so I decided to keep going and constantly got gated by item level, so I had to stop the story to grind out identical dungeons so I could continue to do easy dungeons/trials, so I ultimately just stopped and haven't went bad. Was a bit of a weird UX clash.
Basically, yeah. All of 6.x had tons of effort put in, HOWEVER, all of that was reworking dungeons in every prior expac so they could be played with just AI companions. A lot of work that nobody currently playing will even give a frick about.
Basically it'll guaranty that even when the game goes into maintence, and maybe even beyond if they create an offline mode, will be playable. So sales will continue to trickle in and game will always make some money.
It was not an entirely bad idea either, seeing as it was always going to be a period with less players after EW ended the entire story they'd been doing.
I don't give a frick about troonmet belch, they ruined his character as far back as 5.3 anyways. 6.0 was bad, except for Meteion, but she's not returning so it doesn't matter. Bad story, bad expansion, DT can't come soon enough to wipe this stain.
it's weird, its almost as if MMO's wind down during the wait for an expansion and explode in popularity once the expansion releases. In a cycle that's been consistent for at least a decade if not more with this genre. You morons should know this
Want FF XIV to make a massive overnight resurgance? Let people date the NPCs.
99% of the population is never going to get invested into hardcore MMO mechanics but they will date a catgirl or whatever.
SE are cowards, if you game had stakes where characters may die in the story or wol having romance options would've popularized it way more. Now since all the characters are pretty much plot armored they're nothing more than corpo mouth pieces for future writers they'll say something they want and remain plot irrelevant
basically never listen to people who play your game
people hated idea of eureka before release but ended up loving it
people loved idea of your own private island and criterion dungeon but ended up not doing it
if they want something that people want they can go to mod launcher and copy bunch of qol shit that a lot of people use
wrong,
eureka was and is trash. The only reason why it's popular now is because it gives casuals something to do. And criterion/variant wasn't what people wanted. Variant is a boring slop that outright punishes you for playing with others and criterion is a shitty instance with puzzle fights and zero replay value.
Eureka was well received and only vocal minority that does nothing in game but ERP were complaining about it. Only second eureka stage was getting shit because there was not enough teleports so people were forced to run through middle of the map all the time.
Criterion/Variant were supposed to fill in the "gap" for midcore players who didn't do extremes, savage and ultimates. They asked for that. The only problem people have with it is lack of rewards (read as "zero replay value"), otherwise they would grind it like any other dungeon from expert roulette.
This game has been a failure for years, only propped up by artificial hype, the fact that the main defense used is that the story is good should tell you all about it's merits as an mmo.
It's a Final Fantasy game first
Since the fourth game their competitive advantage is having a better story/world than other games in the same genre.
FFXIV is one of three MMOs in a genre with well over a hundred games that has a good story. It's a reason to play through it. >read a book
they're different ways of experiencing a story. fantasy books aren't all they're cracked up to be anyway either. if you take your average RPG plot and your average fantasy book you'll have a story that's about the same quality.
honestly its crazy how Square does it, a big appeal of MMOs is having a character you create inhabit a world, and both Eorzea and Vana'diel are some of the most appealing from a worldbuilding perspective. WoW is too cartoony to really take seriously in that aspect
Pay for expac + sub, yeah. There's a free "trial" version which gets an expansion added every couple years (Just got or is getting Stormblood soon) but is basically just SE begrudgingly offering it.
Variant Dungeons are perfectly fine, in my opinion. All they could really use is a daily roulette or something else to give people reason to go back to them.
I was thinking that and some side objectives or something to incentivize people to run it
Literally all that's missing from it, the hard/savage is what's the problem
The thing with criterion is that there’s no reason to do them, if part of the relic involved it then it would be more popular. Same thing with Eureka DD, shit’s too hard and people rather spam zadnor to level, Island is budget houseing.
Maybe in DT they make criterion clearable with crafted gear and drops the augment for the tome wep/gear and the thing that brings it to final savage floor ilvl
FFXIV doesn't have people play nothing but endgame content.
There are exceptions but these are the minority of the player base.
You can play and enjoy the game at your own pace and even older Savage difficulty content can be done whit people who do old content for fun.
There is no reason to rush thru the game just to get to the endgame like how it usually is in WOW.
In fact the free trial lets you play the first 100-200+ hours of story content for free.
I had almost 500 hours in the free trial before i bought the game back when Havensward was part of it.
And now they also added storm-blood for free.
It is very real, my friend. And she is a central character to DT. Can't wait to see what else Kate has in store for us after giving us such am early gift.
I started Eureka super late so the low level zones rarely had people, but at least the story there was interesting enough to make the grind somewhat tolerable, and the areas looked nice.
Bozja is just fifty hours of boring brown wastelands with a snoozefest story about a country I couldn't care less about, where everyone who lives there sucks and 90% of characters who are even slightly appealing only ever appear in fate chains
Make the most annoying side character with the annoying accent a main character and add a troony furry all on a continent where everyone will speak spanglish. This is going to be fine.
did they finally add mythic+ dungeons or more content around extreme trial difficulty? the main gripe with ffxiv everyone says is that there's only two sides, super duper erp casual and omega ball busting raider/pvp hardcore. if you want to be midcore its impossible unless you want to pug savage which is 9 years old stale fornula now.
I wonder what would have happened if the people who wanted 4 man dungeons all this time were more specific of what they wanted instead of just saying 'harder dungeons'.
would it have changed anything?
I've always been vocal in what I want from dungeon style content.
I don't want more difficulty, I want a more dynamic experience. If they made a style of dungeon that had a changing status effect each week, or a boss that had more varied attack patterns, I'd be very happy with it.
Give it a weekly reward for completing it and have it's effect change each week on reset. Maybe every enemy explodes when they die, maybe the pack enemies are split between magic and physical immunity.
It'd be neat.
Bozja and eureka are probably the only content that has soul in it. Actually felt like playing an MMO when I was in those zones. People actually using the chat function and coordinating
What lessons will they learn from Bozja? Kinda like how Bozja was a response to the criticisms of Eureka. Because clearly "just dont bother lol" wasn't the correct one
95+% of players hated and didn't bother with lost actions/essences, so expect them to either be cut altogether or nerfed so that people not using them can still keep up with people that do. Also, the three new alliance raids each largely died when they became outdated (and DRS was impossible to run outside of Discord from the very day it dropped). I hope that if the new one has similar content they just stick it in AR roulette. Not even just because they have relic rewards tied to them, just because I wish I could run Dalriada again because it's really fun.
I think lost actions stems more from the fact that Bozja was used as a powerleveling zone and it not hammering lost actions as hard as eureka did, the game wasn't constantly reminding you about them and they aren't really necessary if all you're doing is joining fate trains for xp
AIIEEE ZODIARK
I TELL THEM ZODIARK
I DO IT ZODIARK
THE GAME I TELL THEM ZODIARK SAMA
EVERY DAY
I TELL THEM IT'S DEAD
BUT ZODIARK SAMA
THEY DO NOT RELENT
THEY DO NOT SUBMIT AIIEEE!!!!
game is 10 years already, just make an offline version
they already confirmed 10 years of more support 2 years ago
People still play FFXI you know
There is no such thing for XI, which is over 20 year old, what makes you think they'd do it for XIV?
Is Ishikawa making FF17 or not? I want a new online game with better graphics and CC
and hey lets have namae do the art too, make the ultimate bishoujo game
no exploration zone = no buy
get started to do what?
play palworld?
yes i do enjoy!
I ended up playing through the story through to the end of Endwalker. I then felt very little drive to finish playing the game. At no time are you gatekept if you play thru the MSQ. tome and crated endgame gear is for minmax autists.
You need crafted gear to even get into the last expert dungeons and trials.
Tome gear is the one that is unnecessary unless you do savage.
6.0 was great, 6.X felt like it was QoL patches that had to have something tacked on to justify them.
Basically, yeah. All of 6.x had tons of effort put in, HOWEVER, all of that was reworking dungeons in every prior expac so they could be played with just AI companions. A lot of work that nobody currently playing will even give a frick about.

>the game is shit, please play!
No, I think I'll stick to Palworld.
owari da, Yoshi P. This xpac made Stormblood look like the best thing ever by comparison.
> ff16 dead
> ff14 dead
Is yoship starting to have reverse midas touch? What happened?
Its weird, last time I heard from this game it was supposed to be the actual WoW killer.
it's weird, its almost as if MMO's wind down during the wait for an expansion and explode in popularity once the expansion releases. In a cycle that's been consistent for at least a decade if not more with this genre. You morons should know this
>>WoW killer.
>this dead rotten carcass for troons and homosexuals
RAUGH
You want that to be true so desperately, and seethe so hard because it's not. Why? You could simply not care about it
Krile is cute!
Island Sanctuary is pretty good tho.
Maybe asmon will save it when him and his new golddigging asian thot play it again

Bedroom, when I frick your mom in the ass

Do people still have to pay monthly to play MMOs or that's a thing from the past?
Pay for expac + sub, yeah. There's a free "trial" version which gets an expansion added every couple years (Just got or is getting Stormblood soon) but is basically just SE begrudgingly offering it.

the problem I find with variant dungeons is the whole point of them is to find and get all the routes.
you can't really do that with a PUG
Endwalker's post-game saved the garbage expansion
The thing with criterion is that there’s no reason to do them, if part of the relic involved it then it would be more popular. Same thing with Eureka DD, shit’s too hard and people rather spam zadnor to level, Island is budget houseing.

> mainman talking about some gay femboi shit in sweden
Knew that homie was trooning out
I haven't logged in since palworld launched
maybe I'm free
I don't want to go back
i liked variant dungeons
this guy wrote an article like a week or two ago being upset that the game itself didn't pat him on the head for being a gay man

There is no way this shit is real.
It is very real, my friend. And she is a central character to DT. Can't wait to see what else Kate has in store for us after giving us such am early gift.
I can’t wait for the 7.0 bozja to come out and doomgays to IMMEDIATELY tart whining about it about some other random shit
Well hopefully it's more than just an ugly wasteland this time
>Bozja is bland and ugly
>UHHH IT'S TOO COLORFUL NOW IT NEEDS TO BE DRAB LIKE BOZJA
I can't wait.
I started Eureka super late so the low level zones rarely had people, but at least the story there was interesting enough to make the grind somewhat tolerable, and the areas looked nice.

Picto or Viper?
Palworld
Doubt it will stay as relevant by the time DT comes out
DT is already irrelevant.
Because it comes out in like 5 fricking months
Remember Valheim, Lethal Company, Battlebit? I don't
Make the most annoying side character with the annoying accent a main character and add a troony furry all on a continent where everyone will speak spanglish. This is going to be fine.

nope, variant and criterion dungeons are either braindead or savage-level difficulty.

>not the first post by this IP
shill has to keep the thread going somehow because the game is dead as doornails
>You can't reply to the thread more than once
Nah, the chat function, discord is for the eureka raid if you don't want to wipe. Still don't need to join if you don't want to though
>People actually using the chat function and coordinating
You mean discord?
How do I attract a soft miqo'te troonwife
Ideally in time to play DT together
