Conquest had a few good maps over Birthright, but otherwise they were both pretty good games with better maps than 3H. Story was moronic and made no damn sense though
Compared to 3H everything looks good so there's no point in doing that. It felt like the map designers gave up after the first Camilla map, they were easy before but it was interesting to try and go fast. After Ryoma joins every map is just thoughtless enemy spam and it's mind numbing. The Garon map is moronic as well, I've no idea how anyone is supposed to beat that "normally"; I used a level capped master ninja Corrin to solo everything.
eh not just maps but design as a whole: in br enemies rarely have skills and players have more access to things like dual weapons to circumvent wtd etc.
of course it's intentionally designed to be easier so i'm not saying they fricked up, just that conquest makes the most out of fate's excellent systems
>Corrin has no problem with slaughtering enemies because you're the "good guys" >everyone sucks your dick >could have been nuanced about issues in Hoshido; instead it's just HOSHIDO GOOD NOHR BAD >the Hoshido royals are shit; Ryoma literally lies to you about being family, Honoka has zero fricking relevance to the story, and Sakura is a generic moeblob
>everyone sucks your dick
i mean this is true in all of them
but iirc br doesn't have anything as moronic as the whole 'conquer japan with stun swords while the rest of the army slaughters countless innocents in order to get fakedad to expose himself by sitting on a magic throne so that my siblings will believe me so we can prevent... further slaughtering of countless innocents'
They are the good guys, Objectively. killing an invading force is morally good. There is no political issue here. Just a group of children to scared to stand up their father,
It's one of those games that would have benefitted from a rewritten English script to fix its horrendous plot.
It turned out that Treehouse produced a script that was even worse than the Japanese script, with even less reasons to like any of these characters.
A normal Fire Emblem story would be akin to Blazing Sword; nothing special, but it doesn't get in the way of enjoying the game. The story in all routes of Fates is so fricking bad it actively damages the overall quality.
>Still has Corrin >Still has Xander >Still has Azura >Still has Fates """wordlbuilding""" >Takumi's betrayal that's teaed for half the game is resolved in a cutscene >Ryoma is always aware that Corrin isn't blood related but will only say it in the female S-support
Dude
>still has Leo's plot teleportation tome that only exists in this route.
i will never let birthright babies forget this, and before some homosexual says
>hurr durr teleports happen in every game
the issue isn't that teleportation exists, the issue is Leo has a tomb that lets him teleport anywhere he wants and then back to his original location, and only exists on this one route when nothing is preventing him from having it in the other routes, its called being consistent, which nothing of fates is.
Yeah, it was pretty autism tier. I kept thinking the big bad guy was going to be revealed to be mind controlled or something and have a kino moment with your MC before the end, like that homosexual blonde brother who I literally OHKO'd lol, lmao even. But nope, he was actually the game's real antagonist and had absolutely zero fricking motivation, development or any chance at redemption.
Probably the most garbage ass story ever, but it does let you make your own character so, I mean, it was still fun.
Any other modern FE games that allow this? What about the one with Byleth, I know you can pick their gender but can you change their shitty ass name? What the frick is Byleth? Lmao.
>What about the one with Byleth, I know you can pick their gender but can you change their shitty ass name?
You can change the name and what Blyat wears, but that's it. No hair or body options in 3H.
oof I've receuited nearly everyone except Ralph, Annette, and Ashe. I know about the spare/kill segment, i just wanted to get rid of all their powerful units.
an inoffensively bland story is less interesting than aggressively shitty ones
but awakening did have shit gameplay so we can rap about that if you want
>It's your responsibility to feed my people
Get a job
a very lawful neutral response. i can't remember why hoshido refused tho. can't imagine a very good reason to either considering the circumstances
>i can't remember why hoshido refused tho
Purely going off memory here but I think it was really just them being oblivious to it, as fricking stupid as it sounds when you consider that Hoshido has to be aware of what Nohr's landscape looks like

Read more bad stories?
I still love Azura no matter what!
Ngl, she’s cute
So was Conquest.
wait till you get to conquest
at least that one has great gameplay tho

Honestly Birthright is even worse

lawful neutral at best

Get a job

Is it moronic cause of the bad localization or is the original Japanese script equally as moronic?
both. the original script was moronic and then the bad localization made it even more moronic
Birthright's story wasn't moronic at all though, it was just a perfectly normal Fire Emblem. It's Conquest and Revelations that's stupid.
And it's somehow the least bad of the three Fates plots
>it was just a perfectly normal Fire Emblem
That's a collossal insult.
valla curse ruins every route by default
>it was just a perfectly normal Fire Emblem

I lost track of all the convenient plot mcguffins Fates has that only exist in a single scene
You clearly didn't play the sister game

Frickin' sweet, thank you anon. Name is good enough for my self insert immersion, but some clothing edits is based, too. Maybe I'll go pirate this.
what do we think of 3 houses? Im on maddening classic ch 9 of Crimson Flower and having fun perfecting my units stats.
avoid recruiting except for Marianne, Lysithea, Lorenz, Rahael and maybe Felix because otherwise it takes away from the drama later
oof I've receuited nearly everyone except Ralph, Annette, and Ashe. I know about the spare/kill segment, i just wanted to get rid of all their powerful units.
You're moronic
The incest letter is really funny, so I'll give Birthright credit there.
has fe ever had a good story, I haven't played the really old titles but they always seemed goofy to me.
Genealogy, Thracia, Sacred Stones and Path of Radiance do. Radiant Dawn too in my opinion.
Others are servicable.
Path of Radiance had a kino story
why's no one talking about awakening?
More like awalkening
an inoffensively bland story is less interesting than aggressively shitty ones

par for the fates course
surely they could've traded for it in a better-written game. all those emeralds and sapphires collecting dust
They should have just become a vassal state to hoshido if feeding their people was that important to them.
It's so old by now it's been talked to death. Seriously, it's been ten years. I don't believe it either, but the calendar neither lies nor forgives.
