He's a self important academia nerd. He also never explained or supported his viewpoint. If they gave him a few extra paragraphs on robotwitter I think he'd have been better received.
Shame they didn't. While Byron is the obvious Croteam's favorite at least the mayor despite his flaws seemed like he wanted what he considered best for New Jerusalem. They could have worked more on Rand and Doge's character.
Completing gold puzzles does unlock a small bit of content and yeah, it does affect the ending but only in a small way. It's worth it and some of the golden puzzles were difficult in a fun way. Although most of them were of easy to medium difficulty.
>Laser Redirection: The Game
they seriously couldn't think of anything else, huh? frauds
You didn't play the game. There are tons of new mechanics that were introduced in TTP2 and even in TTP using a few select of tools didn't make them any less interesting or challenging.
If they release modding/editing tools the sky's going to be the limit.
>Thrust Vector
I couldn't manage to do it, I knew the basic idea but couldn't figure out the execution. Don't feel too bad about it since the solution required a completely unique move that is in no other puzzle.
>Don't feel too bad about it since the solution required a completely unique move that is in no other puzzle
Smells like cope to me. It was a unique puzzle but the mechanics needed had all been established, or were sensible enough to be figured out by anyone who got to the gold puzzles.
The only true bullshit puzzle in this game was the one where the solution is that the gravity maker is suddenly OK with pulling itself as long as it's sitting on a box. Similar shame goes to any puzzle where a drill gets pushed through it's own hole
> I couldn't manage to do it
I completed that puzzle on my own but that one was that stumped me the longest. That one and the Embodied Cognition for some reason were really difficult.
Speaking of which, I recently realized that I solved one golden puzzle in an unintended way (Hollow). Now it's time to figure out what's the intended way.
Now that the dust has settled what was your favorite Principle puzzle from Talos? Mine was the one where you had to use the gravity well to shift space time to a place where you had already completed the puzzle, quite clever imo.
I have only the sphynx plate and don’t know what i need to interact with in the world. I remember encountering a grid-like flowerbed once but it wasn’t interactive.
game motivated me to finally finish talos 1 and do the DLC
I like all the easter eggs I've found so far, C1 has this fitting one. Shame 2 literally had almost none
Yeah, shame really. It was fun exploring at first but I wish there was more stuff to be found. There weren't even that many human artifacts, I think I've found around 16 in total.
I'm no philosophy scientist so I don't know how valid or profound much of the stuff in TPII is, but there have been quite a few times when I've thought >haha, yeah. I also smoked weed at university
So if i adored the first game for it's music, MILTON & Elohim (but i disliked the "research team" entries and the woman audios), the Road to Gehenna forums, the sense of discovery with the final 6 stars, the "secret" puzzles and the ending. Will i like this sequel?
I don't think they're pretentious. They're struggling with their inorganic body that conflicts with their human mind so they mimic or try to act as humanly possible with the data they have to compensate for that. It must suck being born in a wrong body with a mind that doesn't correlate to that.
Their bodies also causes them to completely be unable to relate to human problems such as basic needs, mortality etc. Like >hurrr why didnt they just X
Yeah that's easy to ask when you're an immortal robot.
The language can be pretentious but I was able to excuse everything considering their circumstances and how they were in the first game (especially Gehenna). It seems entirely reasonable that they could reach this state naturally.
I'm replaying the first game before starting 2. Did you guys ever use the hint system? I just did for an achievement and it was genuinely the most useless fricking thing ever. I expected to be shown exactly what to do by the Messenger since they have those ghost robots in earlier levels. Instead, I got a single clue that was essentially "once you solve this puzzle, grab the sigil". It said something about being able to access the sigil once I had the box, but the entire puzzle was how to get the box.
> I just did for an achievement and it was genuinely the most useless fricking thing ever.
Yeah, same. I did it on my second playthrough just for the achievement and it was absolutely nothing.
>played the entire game eagerly waiting for the return of my favorite mechanic (recording) >it never showed up >but this fricking item trading shit got in
And what the frick happened to all the fun easter eggs? I found nothing besides that serious sam one in new jerusalem.

Rand seems to be the least liked NPC.
He's a self important academia nerd. He also never explained or supported his viewpoint. If they gave him a few extra paragraphs on robotwitter I think he'd have been better received.

She talks a handful of times on the message boards, if I recall correctly.
I really thought there was going to be more to her
Me too. Was disappointed there wasn't.
The nighttime was beautiful. I really wish we could have the option to solve all the puzzles in the dark.
I beat the game today.
Now I'll try to complete gold puzzles. Does this unlock additional ending?
Completing gold puzzles does unlock a small bit of content and yeah, it does affect the ending but only in a small way. It's worth it and some of the golden puzzles were difficult in a fun way. Although most of them were of easy to medium difficulty.
Gold puzzles are some of the best in the game
My favorite is the Thrust Vector.

I don't think there were any bullshit puzzles in the game, the game doesn't explain any mechanics to you and you just have to test out how they work.
>I recently realized that I solved one golden puzzle in an unintended way (Hollow)
Did you use those activators for the second and third door, too?
Yeah. So you too? I hope I can figure out the right way on my second playthrough.
Here's your unintended way btw lmao

This is the kind of shit that TTP2 is missing.
I already want a DLC with lots of difficult puzzles.
What do the square grid riddles mean?
Check the Sphinx plate/map to figure out what you should do with them.
I can spoil it for you if you'd like me to.
I have only the sphynx plate and don’t know what i need to interact with in the world. I remember encountering a grid-like flowerbed once but it wasn’t interactive.
In which area are you just to be sure?
I'm on the last region and I'm bored of the puzzles, do I lose out on anything by using the sparks?

Frick if we know, just buy it, it has good puzzles
Ok, I will pirate it
Why does everyone sound so pretentious? Mirana especially is like young sheldon.
to be fair she doesnt have any experience with other people outside of athena and cornelius
Yeah but why is that their default personality?
I don't think they're pretentious. They're struggling with their inorganic body that conflicts with their human mind so they mimic or try to act as humanly possible with the data they have to compensate for that. It must suck being born in a wrong body with a mind that doesn't correlate to that.
