Modern Ganker is nothing but zoomers posting AAA slop and ERP shit, no time for real video games. But W101 wasn't that popular to begin with. Wonder Liner truly is the greatest action game filter.
Best J-Action game ever made, hope Kamiya gets to complete the toku trilogy before he retires, we haven't seen shit about Project GG since it was revealed
The dragon enemy is complete bullshit, if you are close to it when it starts its wing animation into the shield, it immediatly kills most of your team leaving your leader alone, and for some reason it doesnt let you move away nor evade, so you feel like you have a full second where you try to do anything to move out of the way, you dont move at all and it still hits you.
Also for some reason Prince Vorkken was in my team really early? Iirc I defeated the bug inside of him and the next chapter he was in the team and I could use his Unify Boomerang despite the fact that in the story he was still barely alive in the VV and then he dissapeared until halfway of the last chapter.
Is there a good reason to use the Unify Boomerang and Unite Crossbow? I always forget that they exist and they dont seem to have any skills to them other than the basic hit.
If you press the sprint button and dodge away the dragon won’t clip your team with his pointy shield and wipe them. Turn off Unite Spring if you have you have it, that shit will shatter against armour since it’s an attack.
Unify Boomerang seems rather useless from what I remember. It's like a claw multimorph, but without using the team attack button, throwing out a wide spinning blade while you can do something else elsewhere.
Bowgun can charm enemies and those charmed enemies will then kamikaze into other enemies for explosive damage.
Don't attack a dragon unless it's busy or stunned, attacking them when they aren't doing anything is what makes them form their shield. You want to avoid letting them form their shield at all costs, it wastes a ridiculous amount of time and it's really hard to keep a combo going if you have to take the time to claw it open.
Also if you have Vorkken early you probably ticked on Vorkken mode if you have the DLC, otherwise probably some weird bug.
Boomerang isn't that useful, there's a few specific situations where it shines and it can be used in juggles, but otherwise it doesn't really do a crazy amount of damage for the effort and it doesn't give much combo. Bowgun is incredibly useful any time Dough-Goos are around though because it kills them in one hit and they'll swarm other nearby enemies to explode for damage, but it tends to do way too much damage relative to the combo you could earn from other attacks. Unite Immorta is also completely broken OP.
played it on deck but it wasn't fun at all
the concept was interesting though but the execution of giving you a random minigame every few seconds was awful
Same reason Bloodborne would become despised quick if it was re-released and people actually played it. Its easy to praise a game few have played to feel special, since most cant actually refute you
It was never popular on Ganker. It got shitposted to hell snd back because of its poor sales and we were still in the wake of everyone hating Platinum for Bsho 2 on the Wii U. This game is as niche as you can get. It's got more heart and soul than anything released in the last five years but it has zero mass appeal.
Same reason Bloodborne would become despised quick if it was re-released and people actually played it. Its easy to praise a game few have played to feel special, since most cant actually refute you
>Bloodborne would become despised quick if it was re-released and people actually played it.
No.
Bloodborne and TW101 are what happens when a CLASSIC GEM ends up console exclusive. You get a bunch of sourgrapes morons pretending like they're not evcen that good anyways. >since most cant actually refute you
Anon, moronic child spew like we usually see here on Ganker never refutes me, even if we've both played the game in question.
You're wrong. IT's the best Soulsborne title on pretty much every level. Elden Ring gets close but BB mogs Dark Souls 1-3 >BUH BUH BUH BUH
No. Stop. BB is a masterpiece. You're gonna just need to cope.
Yikes, high on copium are we? Bloodborne has a myriad of problems the other souls games never had, before or afterwards. As well as some atrociously designed areas

lmao, go ahead and list 10 things. I'll be back in a moment and shit down your throat.
The parts where you're actually playing the game and not watching a cutscene, doing a QTE or being forced into some awful gimmick that completely changes the gameplay are kind of fun. So about 30% of the actual game is sometimes fun.
>Wake up >Shower, get dressed >put on my TW101 Kickstarter Backer Tee >this thread is high on the catalogue
It took them a super fricking long time to deliver on the Kickstarter Promises. Nobody cares anymore. Not even me.
I will download it and play eventually, but I really hated how the Wonder Goggles work in the epilogue, using literally any other unite morph felt better. Also I find it weird how Luka is treated so much as a child when the main protagonist have a pair of children as old as Luka and several of the 100 are also kids and even toddlers.
I finished it a few weeks ago. It's okay, it has a lot of heart put into it, I enjoyed it just from that alone. The idea is great, but the execution is flawed. I think a sequel would be able to polish it, but we'll never see one.
>reveal trailer was shortly before/after the TW101 KS announcement >They only finished the Luka DLC a few weeks ago
Anon, it's gonna be a fricking while.
Nah, I played the OG lots and ditched the touch controls right away because skillfully using the stick to do fighting game-esque commands to access unite morphs easy and fast.
Drawing is cool but the real skill was in stick inputs.
I think you gotta kinda be into fighting games for this to be appealing, cause I did exactly the same thing for the exact same reasons, it just felt way more intuitive to do fighting game motions
Nope, I hate fighting games with input complexity. I have strongly held and felt feelings even just about the SRK input anon. I fricking HATE fighting inputs. Luckily TW101 is hyper forgiving and doesn't ask for any fricked up squiggles.
wack, I'm not really into complex inputs either but I do enjoy fighting games, but I always play 360 grapplers so I'm not doing the obnoxious inputs anyway
This is genuinely one of the most special games I've played and I'm still sad nobody appreciates it, not even in the "misunderstood masterpiece" kind of way like God Hand or Killer 7.
Straight up no-one gives a frick.
matthewmatosis goes on drunken rants on his stream about how underappreciated it is
I feel like Platinum has this horrible curse because their most inventive and original games always get fricked over and are largely ignored. The impressive part is that they keep on trucking and still haven't lost the will to keep making these games and it seems like they don't care if not many people play them. Astral Chain is another case of this.
I'm glad Astral Chain was a sleeper hit despite it not being discussed much. Hopefully the sequel will get more attention if they can smooth out the first game's problems and add new stuff on top of it.
The best kinds of games are the ones where the VAs really go all in on it, no matter how goofy, hammy, and dumb the story and dialogue end up being.
Every actor in this game went in 101% and it's better for it. Even the shit characters like Luka.
Remaster is good, even great on PC. Also they've added new missions, ability to play as Vorkken, and even new little 2D side campaigns with the kid from Wonder Red's class - After School Hero 1 and 2 expansions , so that's nice. I do wish that Prince Vorkken mode was a whole separate campaign with different enemies and other stuff though, I'd pay for a DLC like that no problem.
Unfortunately, its amazingly stupid how the publisher NEVER FRICKING ADVERTISES THE GAME OR PUTS IT ON SALE. Like a frickload of people never know it exists. It is hardly ever on sale on Steam, few if any legit 3rd party keysellers like Humble or GMG have it so thats even less people picking it up, and a high price to boot! This is just like "Fuga, Melodies of Steel" and a bunch of other smaller profile JP titles where the devs don't take the time to get their game out there an then wonder why it doesn't sell as well as it could
Currently at work, or I'd take a picture of both my Wii U copy, my Kickstarter Switch copy, and a handful of the stuff I got from the Kickstarter so far.
Interesting game, you can tell there was a lot of love put into it, but ultimately it was too niche and even Nintendo didn't care for it long-term. Wonder Radio was my guy
Nobody cares?
It's a shitty platinum game for toddlers.
Ganker wouldn't know a good game if it sodomized them.
Modern Ganker is nothing but zoomers posting AAA slop and ERP shit, no time for real video games. But W101 wasn't that popular to begin with. Wonder Liner truly is the greatest action game filter.
It's one of the ultimate filter games, no surprise Gankereddit didn't play it
Nintendo gave it to me free, but the file was too large to fit on my Wii U.
I just picked up the wii u version for cheap last weekend, excited to finally give it a try.
something nice
I'm so glad I didn't buy it, frick the minigames
Mate I bought it, played it, enjoyed it.
What more do you want from me.
Best J-Action game ever made, hope Kamiya gets to complete the toku trilogy before he retires, we haven't seen shit about Project GG since it was revealed
Hopefully cancelled and Platinum is turned into a support studio for Square or Nintendo.
It's kino and filtered mil- dozens.
fun game

Spring drill.
Regular basic spring is fine.

Bowgun can charm enemies and those charmed enemies will then kamikaze into other enemies for explosive damage.
Boomerang is good for juggles since it homes in and lasts a while.
Don't attack a dragon unless it's busy or stunned, attacking them when they aren't doing anything is what makes them form their shield. that time we got him to post on Ganker
played it on deck but it wasn't fun at all

Why did Ganker turn on this game so harshly? It used to be beloved but as soon as it became more well known it suddenly was hated here.
>Why did Ganker turn on this game so harshly?
tendies were mad it stopped being a Nintend𐐬 exclusive
>The duality of Ganker

Hit the nail on the head.
The only problems with Bloodborne are blood vial grinding and being 30 fps
One year for every copy sold 🙂
>Say something nice
At least it wasn't Babylon's Fall
One of the few games where I never understood Ganker's hype for it
The English dub is awesome.
Whoever picked up the VAs should get a raise.
That and the game has some hilariously good moments.
The parts where you're actually playing the game and not watching a cutscene, doing a QTE or being forced into some awful gimmick that completely changes the gameplay are kind of fun. So about 30% of the actual game is sometimes fun.
Had a amazing trailer

Not even toddlers. A literal baby that isn't even 1 year old.
Uohhh
Is this DLC, a free update or what? How do I access it?
DLC. Check steam/PSN/XBL whatever
Bunderful 1010
Everything that is not a minigame section is very fun to play and improve at
What was his name again?
Cringe Forken.
Heir to the Roaming R-hullo, leader of the space pirates known as the Guyzoch, Prince Vorkken.
One of my favorites. Meeting Kamiya in the lead-up to the remaster's launch was one of my favorite memories.
Hope he's able to see Project GG through.
This game was wonderful.
Original Wii U version still superior, even compared to PC.
it was mid
I finished it a few weeks ago. It's okay, it has a lot of heart put into it, I enjoyed it just from that alone. The idea is great, but the execution is flawed. I think a sequel would be able to polish it, but we'll never see one.
Project GG might take some ideas from it(if it hasn’t been cancelled).
>reveal trailer was 3 years ago
>zero updates since then
It’s not looking good.
>reveal trailer was shortly before/after the TW101 KS announcement
>They only finished the Luka DLC a few weeks ago
Anon, it's gonna be a fricking while.
>Loved the game on WiiU
>back the port for Switch, replay it
>magic is completely gone, havent even touched the free DLC
Is it me or is the "drawing on the gamepad" actually great addition to the gameplay? Drawing stuff with the control stick just removes the action
Nah, I played the OG lots and ditched the touch controls right away because skillfully using the stick to do fighting game-esque commands to access unite morphs easy and fast.
Drawing is cool but the real skill was in stick inputs.

nah I found stick controls way better even on the Wii U version
Unironically the best action game ever conceived, it shits on Bayo, DMC and Ninja Gay Den. Fight me.
This is genuinely one of the most special games I've played and I'm still sad nobody appreciates it, not even in the "misunderstood masterpiece" kind of way like God Hand or Killer 7.
Straight up no-one gives a frick.
Fricking kill me.

The second part of your post has been untrue ever since they got bought out by Tencent.
I'm still hopeful for Project G.G. though.
I'm glad Astral Chain was a sleeper hit despite it not being discussed much. Hopefully the sequel will get more attention if they can smooth out the first game's problems and add new stuff on top of it.
>sequel
if it gets one. I know it was planned but Platinum leadership has changed
Nintendo bought the ip and Taura mentioned having enough ideas for a trilogy. A sequel is all but guaranteed.
Nintendo don't have the same expectations for sales now as they do when the first astral chain came out.
???? What? Why? It's obviously lower budget with more niche appeal than Zelda and they know that when looking at sales.
Source?
Astral Chain exceeded sales expectations tho, so it did good
Astral Chain is a success though.
W101 is literally my favorite game of all time.
Vijounne best girl
W101 is a game that you either LOVE to just bounce off, but everyone who enjoyed W101 has it in their top 10
Still keep my wiiu around for it (and XbX.
WiiU = Soul
Remaster = Soulless
I still need to play it.
I hated this game and thought it was trash. But maybe I sucked at it.
Out of all the action games I've played, this one definitely feels the most annoying when you get hit.
One of the GOATs. Possibly the GOAT
>Danger's comin, loomin large
>So who's gonna make a stand?
It's a really niche game, but I love it. Haven't played it in a long while, though.
101 copies sold
More than Goblinism, at least.
The Luka DLC really felt shat out to fulfill the obligation.
Bought it day 1. Still the best J-Action game out there.
10 years ago i was happy and i have a bright future, what happen anons?
>that time Hideki Kamiya came to Ganker and the only person he replied to was the one who called him a homosexual
Classic.
Best character action game
Dropped after tutorial. Its shit.
This game's voice acting is really underrated. Wonder Red is phenomenal
Kamiya oversaw both the Japanese and English.
The best kinds of games are the ones where the VAs really go all in on it, no matter how goofy, hammy, and dumb the story and dialogue end up being.
Every actor in this game went in 101% and it's better for it. Even the shit characters like Luka.
I just finished my first playthrough (remaster). Starting 101% now. Great game.
Genuinely a great game but it deserved a better console. There were not nearly enough great games to justify the purchase of a Pii Poo at the time.
Remaster is good, even great on PC. Also they've added new missions, ability to play as Vorkken, and even new little 2D side campaigns with the kid from Wonder Red's class - After School Hero 1 and 2 expansions , so that's nice. Pretty fun, but good grief did the final act drag on.
where are my fellow wonderfuls at?
Currently at work, or I'd take a picture of both my Wii U copy, my Kickstarter Switch copy, and a handful of the stuff I got from the Kickstarter so far.
I'll get a more recent pic later with the pendant and shit, but ROGER
I'm somewhere in that collage on the right. I think near the middle of 12th row?
If you look closely at
my copy is second from the top in the center
I can't play it because my gamepad's left analog stick has started to drift. How the hell do I replace something so rare?
Interesting game, you can tell there was a lot of love put into it, but ultimately it was too niche and even Nintendo didn't care for it long-term.
Wonder Radio was my guy
Matthewmatosis is a pathetic homosexual and W101 sucks
Seethe more fromdrone.
Games are art, and 101's stream of consciousness moronation proved that to me more than AAA cinematic games ever could.
It's in my Top 3 GOATS with Jak 1 and Kingdom Hearts 2
Tell me your favorite wonder, NOW!
Wonder Fruit my beloved
Radio and Ice Cream.
Come back when it's 10 years and one month old
