Kaycee's mod doesn't fix it. I wanted much, much more. A full game built around the first act with lots of secrets and ideally some modding potential.

Everyone was saying NYOOO ITS GOOD THIS TIME. Ended up being so fricking boring. Awful empty open world and almost no battling

I fell for the same thing. Worst part this was my first Pokemon that I've owned (Pokemon was witchcraft to my parents growing up and I had lost interest by the time I got a job). It looked more interesting than fricking SwSh and all my friends who liked Pokemon were singing its praises so I spent my christmas giftcards on it. I then proceeded to spend the next 20 hours finding out just how starved for anything remotely playable Pokegays are. Regular battles consist of 1-2 decisions max 95% of the time, all the boss battles are a shitty TPS with a dark souls roll, the barren open world makes Skyrim feel populated, and its ugly as fricking sin. When I realized THIS was Pokegay's god game, I almost thanked my parents for shielding me from this series when I was young.
i had pretty much everything else when i was elementary and middle school, and i found actually good JRPGs by high school. your game and series are just shit

The problem is the death of niché games by double-A studios.
You know. Games that are catered to a specific audience, but still have enough of a budget.
The only game dev studio I can think of is Expansive Worlds with their hunting games and upcoming fishing game. But where are all the racing, sports, and hobby games? Sure they exist, but there used to be so many more of them.

Kaycee's mod came way to late. If it launched with it or came out just a week or so after the game came out I would have played it more.
