Hourly reminder: The pre-order had a tier list. The total number of DLC was normal, but it was broken up and hidden behind how many total people pre-ordered. THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY let people know about this, and people were furious. As a result of Eidos and Square Enix's greed, the team took on all of the hate, and the majority of the game was cancelled. Only the DLC in development was allowed to be finished.
Disable vsync and force it through your driver and that gets rid of most of the stutter in Director's Cut
The original release was far from perfect to begin with
Neither of those seem like they butcher the game. I didn't even notice the filter being gone, granted there was about a decade between playing one then the other. I just played for an hour so I didn't get to the DLC.
luckily you can use a mod to restore the piss filter but the game is still a stuttery unstable mess
Oh really? I was playing on Linux so maybe proton was smoothing the game out for me.
It's the best part of the first game but I understand why that one autist b***hes about what they did in the director's cut. They should have given you the option to play it or not
I like it but it was seventh gen in a horrible way. cinematic third person takedowns and an obsession with cover mechanics, bad as things currently are I don't think the 8th or 9th gens have a more annoying gameplay hallmark.
>cinematic third person takedowns
Imagine putting this in an immersive sim. Dumbest feature in these games by far, the animations are cool but it isn't worth how fricking clunky it feels ingame and how hard it kills immersion
>cinematic third person takedowns
I uninstalled MD for this very reason, it was excusable in a consolized 2011 game but not in modern gaming. I was expecting melee combat no that bullshit again
It's touches like that, that actually make invisible war feel like a better stealth game. And don't forget the lopsided exp distributions that gave preferential treatment for certain playstyles, and encouraged moronic shit like going to every console and hacking it for exp.

That shit was frickin cool. Don't care what any of you no taste gays dick riding the fake "IMMERSIVE SIM" genre say. It's a fun game and it's cool I can do a frickin dance while taking cover against a wall.
Also the piss filter sucks and the game doesn't need it at all to have it's unique "sci-fi renaissance golden age" aesthetic and atmosphere. The game just doesn't feel like it is missing something with the filter removed. Sure, it is a striking look but after a while I get so sick of it being fricking everywhere, and it also just doesn't belong in some places (some of the more low tech, straightforward urban environments look disgusting with the piss filter). It is far more immersive without the piss filter too which you'd want in a Deus Ex game.
Don't bother though. The director's cut being inferior is another Ganker meme opinion born from pure autism and contrarianism. Director's cut looks better, has QoL fixes like WAY better bossfights, and the DLC is really good despite being awkwardly jammed into the story.
The director's cut is the nintendo fisher price console port they retroported to PC. There is no reason to use it. Just pirate the og with dlc (separated), you can't buy it anymore. Embrace the soul filter. Reminder to put a minimum into combat. Those that b***hed about having to fight head on and kill four people through the game were simply filtered. The nu-boss fights lose all impact, the tacked on nonlethal methods are as anticlimactic as it gets.
Dunno played he and was satisfied. Never bothered with dlc or the others after. I did the same with mass effect played it when it came out played me2 which felt more console qte gears of war like felt it was mid and never bothered with 3 since I figured it was DED game after 2 and I was right. Dragon age origins was decent tried da2 briefly dropped it same with dai put like an hour into it saw it was garbo and dropped. I'm not gonna waste time with something that doesn't vibe with me. Cool if it works for others you do you.
been replaying that but installed the director's cut version by mistake first, and it's unreal how much worse it looks without the piss filter
thank god I have the OG version too
its literally S tier, they just didn't have time to finish it
I'm talking about the director's cut version of HR homie did you even open the image?
what's wrong with it I beat it a month ago.
And I never understood the hate for the dlc, I played it for the first time and it's pretty damn good.
Ignore the sperg
Hes just mad they removed the piss filter
Nobody hates the DLC, it's great when played as intended, as a standalone
As long as I can mow down augs at the end, don't really care.
As in the director's cut being a technical mess, or the franchise having been crudely murdered

What did the director's cut do? I already know about the DLC and whatever stuff that's obvious.
removes the piss filter and jams the DLC haphazardly into the main story so the pacing is all fricked up

It's such a weird decision since it takes away your shit anyway.
You get it all back
the amount of praxis you get back can be less than you began with
I did not get all my augs back
Maybe you should stop sucking
Ur mum sucking on deez nuts
Am I the only one who really enjoyed the ship dlc? great setting
It's the best part of the first game but I understand why that one autist b***hes about what they did in the director's cut. They should have given you the option to play it or not
I liked it because I played the whole game in a stealthy way regardless.
i liked it. also liked doing the MD prison DLC with no augs or kills

I enjoyed HR much more than this.
Playing in the day time made it so uninteresting.
But the improved boss fights though. I'll miss cheesing Namir with a takedown though.
This, it is do much better.

where the FRICK do I get the original version?
I have it I guess. Never played the directors cut or any DLC.
key sites

The actual director's commentary is really interesting though.

What's the point of having forced boss battles in a stealth game?
I bought Mankind Divided on sale, how is that game
