Grind, grind and more grind. The game is very pretty and there is a lot to do but the core gameplay loop is grinding and the Odyssey update killed the game for majority of the playerbase. If you really want to play it pick it up on sale.
>encounter complex piloting mechanics >whoah amazing >combat is therefore cool >3 days pass and you burn controls to your muscle memory to the point you don't notice them and any complexity of the game vanishes >realise that everything you can do in this game is grind for a better ship and there is literally no other content
Bare bones skeleton of a game, but if you like to go from point A to point B in pitch black scenery with only the user interface being any colour you see, just to see some numbers go up, I think you'll love the game.
Most of it is just things you could do in the srv but now on foot. They are stepping up the on-foot combat zones, with ship dogfighting, anti-ship artillery, and a few other things. It's still just more ways to grind for money/rank/materials as before though. Mostly Odyssey is for taking screenshots on planeta with tenuous atmosphere and so more atmospheric lighting and skybox
>start game >do space trucking just long enough to get a decked out fighter >take my first combat mission >get wrecked in my dinky fighter that's too small to scratch anything
I should have just bought a fatter truck.
Just mine a bunch of dark crystals or whatever is the current highest price mineral, you can buy Anaconda in just 4 hours, deck it out for mining and make it pay for itself in an hour or two. Then the grind for constant upgrades with bullshit prices begins.
space trucking

I urge you to reconsider. It's not worth putting time into the game in it's current state.
Also adding megaship and fleet carrier interiors in the next update. Can regular ship interiors be far behind?
That's nice but have they fixed all the Odyssey bugs yet?
HAHAHAHAHHA!
Wouldn't bother honestly because the experience is pretty okay but if you have VR and play this it's some otherworldly next level shit.

Space, space and, more space.
Pretty comfy, don't get into the combat or mining meta. Just go exploring and enjoying comfy star systems.
>"comfy" procedurally generated systems that are all the same to the point if you saw one type of system you saw them all
>procedurally generated
They aren't procedural anon. It is a 1:1 version of the Milky way.
The placements maybe.
It's when you travel to a star you get the generic all the same bullshit varying only in name, but never in actual content.
Play Star Citizen instead. It's better and cheaper.
>post yfw you didn't fall for scam citizen
>yfw you have no face because you fell for erectile;dysfunction instead
SEETHING scam citizen
Why would i be angry when our main competitor committed public sudoku while wearing a clown costume kek
Scam Citizen unironically has more content and stuff to do than E:D. The latter had the balls to call this pre-alpha a "released" product.
So is Odyssey good? Besides the bugs, is the gameplay just grind or is it fun?
>thread full of people yelling that it's just grinding to grind more
>so guize, is this gaem good or not lul
I'm talking about Odyseey homosexual and whether it is as grindy as the main game.
Clearly Odyssey hasn't made the difference since everyone is still complaining that the game is all grinding, homosexual.

decent combat
comfy mining
everything else is boring
Horrible control scheme. It will take a long time to get used to controls.
