wienerroach anon here. I can't anymore. SteamShit just raised minimal prices and recommended regionals prices several times this year, and yesterday they deleted liras.
Unironically epic games store giveaways and Fortnite battle passes, it's all I can afford now.

And some russian mongoloid from discord I know, brags how he can now afford more games and everything is 4-5 times cheaper for him because of war. Frick you all.

You still can't gift us anything, because prices is steel different for like 25-30%, so steam gifts interegional gifts.

Mexico here, prices for almost everything are still great.
Capcom, Bandai Namco, Square and Koei are shit (because that's just how they are) but it seems like literally everything else is cheaper here than if you directly converted the original price to MXN.

What's the price (either in USD or MXN) of a new, AAA game in Mexico? I'm asking specifically for AAA games because that's the de facto price standard, at least in the US. A new game costs $60 US or $1025 pesos.

Maybe it's different now, but I remember console game pricing being absolutely fricked in Mexico. I worked at Gamestop in like 2006, and my aunts in Mexico would have me buy stuff for them because not only was there no regional pricing, but a new, sealed current gen (at the time) game cost the equivalent of $90 US, which is almost twice what they cost in America. That's outrageously expensive even by American standards, so in Mexico, it was absolutely prohibitively expensive.

Yes. A lot of those keys on key sites are cheap because they're bought with stolen credit cards, so when the person who had their card stolen reports it and the bank cancels those payments, Valve reserves the right to remove the game.

            Anonymous

The people who bought the game had no idea those keys were bought with a stolen credit card and the money wasn't spent on the Steam store; Valve has no right to revoke their keys.

i have been buying from key sites for over 10 years and never once had a game revoked. i bought lies of p before it came out and still have it in my account. the only reason i can think of for this happening is if you buy a key from an actual shady site that steals them.

I've never had issues with certain sites like GMG but I've heard similar stories to this over the years where people get scammed when using random key sites.

They know, but they probably did the numbers and figured out that all argentinians moving to pirating is worth it to block the handful of 1st worlders using VPNs to buy games with monopoly money. For example, you had Sekiro available for less than $2 USD while the cheapest it has ever been in the US is $30. To offset one single VPN-using american getting it for cheap you'd need at least 15 argentinians also buying the game, and with your inflation rates it gets 2x worse each year.

is that still viable? I thought that was ogre since AI slop came into being and the coomers were all satisfied cooming to endless prompts, I guess they like exclusivity/custom things to their fursona way more than the cooming, might get good at that myself for some easy money

        Anonymous

It hasn't changed whatsoever. All AI made me realize is that people just want finished products, and are incredibly lazy and unwilling to learn how to even setup webui or control net or anything. There are even ai only art patreons now. Furthermore you can only get so far with ai playing text gatcha, sooner or later youll need to start posing stuff with control net and be more directly involved with repaints and whatnot, which again the general person is unwilling to invest time in.

          Anonymous

Lol certainly makes a lot of sense considering how defeated the average wagie must be mentally after a full day of work, I guess most people would have the mental fortitude to learn any of it after it, and that is even worse considering the tiktok attention spam destruction

            Anonymous

Yea just keep on doing what you're doing. People will always want good content, ai or not. It doesn't hurt to use ai to get reference poses or anything either if you want to just draw it yourself 100%. Also when you start having more than one character on screen with control net, this stuff turns into node hell to make it look right. Example of node setup for one gen that does what I want (only a snippet, rest of nodes setup is another 4 of these screens)

Oh. Thanks. Just that the boxes look slightly similar. Might I ask what you mean by nodes and multiple references? Is it based on when you're generating locally on your machine (and want some more customization?) I don't plan to use diffusion anytime soon (mainly due to incompatible laptop) but in the future, where would I look for to (image attachment) & maybe get a little tutorial?

                Anonymous

Theres some doc in that site as well youtube, but essentially its a more indepth webui/control net that makes it easier to work with multiple characters generation and such, since not only can you define the regions of where something appears but also the particular thing there.

Fellow thirdworlder here, have a nice day you morons. Steam fricking loves our region.

Great regional pricing, tons of support for payment processors, and doubling down on the potential growth we have.
Don't fricking blame Steam for decades of voting in absolute morons into office and then crying that your economy is experiencing extraordinary amounts of inlfation that it'd make Donson blush.

It's a fricking MIRACLE they even tolerated your unstable ass countries for so damn long.

They've been occupying a lot of places in Belgrade which made it significantly more harder and expensive to live there. Belgrade is also pretty much the only meaningful place to live in since it's very similar to Russia in the sense that most of the countries investments go into their capital cities.

I always pirated out of habit, i'm a 30yo boomer so i was raised on it.

But pirating indie games is a problem because the scene doesn't care for early access shit. They were so cheap I just bought them. Until this.

really a shame, I'm gonna be missing out.

I'd rather wait for full release anyway. Most early access indie games suck

I gave up on steam and just collect ms points to exchange for free games/gamepass. You can get 15-20 bucks equivalent every month, good enough to pay gamepass one month or other and buy games every now and then.

Did you fricking idiots forget how hard Venezuela got assfricked because of their inflation? This was years ago.

To be fair, Venezuela should have seen what happened to Mexico in 1993 and not let themselves get fricked either. I think most people on this board are probably too young to remember, and the majority aren't Mexican and wouldn't care anyway, but Mexico's economy got skullfricked sideways so hard they had to make an entirely new currency.

It was pressure from game publishers on Steam to have game sales introduce an automatic 1:1 exchange rate option rather than publishers having to constantly babysit their set regional prices and adjust them to volatile currencies like TRY / ARS.

Steam probably has being saying no to publishers on this notion for awhile. Likely they had their hand forced due to a higher volume of sales leeched by key sites / resellers getting more keys at stupid cheap prices due to the exchange rate difference.

        Anonymous

        Valve probably wasn't forced tbh.

This is the same thing they did when Venezuela completely shat itself. At some point you have to realize that it's not just feasible having to accomodate an economy that's in fricking shambles when the populace don't even bring you in that much revenue in the first place.
It's honestly a miracle Valve tolerated Argentina and Turkey for so long.

Problem is that SA is too interconnected.

Corruption and brainrot cross-pollinates. Whenever you think a country has some semblance of a chance of improving itself, the rest of the crabs around it drag them back down. Meanwhile Central America is equally fricking moronic and completely wasted its opportunity of being neighbours with the US.
