Not OP, but I'm almost 30 and I have virtually 0 nostalgia for anything Zelda outside of a few weeks I played WindWaker at someone else's house like 20 years ago and the cutscenes from the CD-i games. What is the appeal of the Zelda series? What is so assblastingly amazing about it? It looks like a little twink gay in a green gay outfit fighting stupid-looking monsters. Just... who the frick does it appeal to? Mario is a funny, fat Italian man that jumps on turtles to save a blonde thot, his appeal is obvious. Who does Link appeal to?

what is wrong with millennials? why are do you people go out of your way to be so problematic? it's 2022 get with the times old man
>What is the appeal of the Zelda series?
Simple and fun fantasy adventure games, the older games were better than the later ones >Who does Link appeal to?
women and degenerates unfortunately
Play Zelda 1 to find the appeal.
It's about exploring and combat and finding neat shit. No map, no markers, no interruptions.
ALTTP added puzzles, which is good - but also became more story-oriented and rail-roaded.
3D Zelda are much slower games with giant worlds that take forever to traverse. The goal is to take up a significant amount of the player's time. That way, when the player finishes their journey, they might actually be a significantly different person from when it all started. They're not bad - in fact OOT is very good - but the focus has been spread to appeal to as many people as possible. So now someone who is interested in collecting all upgrades might have to play a fishing mini-game for 30 minutes - something that has nothing to do with combat, exploration, or puzzles.
In general, there was a split between 2D and 3D Zeldas after LTTP. With the 2D ones focusing more on puzzles and the 3D ones focusing more on exploration and combat.
I consider LTTP bad because it tried to do both and was mediocre compared to LA and OoT which were both superior.
I don't agree that the 3D ones focussed on exploration.
For instance, the dungeons in MM, WW, TP have to be completed in order. And you're told where they are.
Even when they are presented like you have a choice - e.g. Wind Waker's earth / wind temples - Nope! Have to do earth first.

never played zelda 2 but now i consider it garbage because of it's magnificent fans, who cant even recognize obvious bait shitpost from the op
>wrong aspect ratio >probably playing with an 8bitpoo controller causing massive input lag >lazy graphical filtering >tried it for 5 mins and gave up
Why yes, it's zoomer time!
DSP is spamming save states and is getting filtered himself and calling it bad game design. Nothing he says means anything ever. His tune will change end game anyways and he won't be able to shut up about how unfair it is.
Fair, when I first beat the game I found the correct path by sheer luck on my first try. Looking back it's pretty awful.

The other dungeons aren't nearly as bad, Great Palace is really hard compared to the rest of the game
While smaller in scope samey rooms will trip up people with poor mental mapping probably (can't relate). Game is still pretty fun but there is some fatigue/annoyance you will get playing it blind because that just feels intended in Zelda 2.
What happened to the Zelda from the first Legend of Zelda during the events of AoL?
I know in the manga she dies and her corpse gets dropped in molten lava, but surely that’s not canon?
Imagine trying to rebuild your kingdom while your bf is out fricking random prostitutes for energy and sticking his tongue down your great-great-great-grandma’s throat. Kek, what a cuck.
I like it but it is rough around the edges. Link's control aren't very precise, he slides, his sword attack has a weird hit, there are some cheap deaths with the bottomless pits and the difficulty spike is huge early on as soon you enter Death Mountain. I think Faxanadu is a better game in the same vein.
I played Zelda 2 as a kid and never got further than the 3rd dungeon
I recently savescummed my way through the game on an emulator and it was fun
The game is so much easier when you actually know where the frick to go and when you get the rhythm down for hitting darknut helmets in air to kill them fast

that screenshot is filtered, yes

>Who does Link appeal to?
me
Just play oot and you'll understand. Yhe pc port is really good now.
It appeals to people who had Nintendo consoles as kids, especially N64gays because OOT was literally the only game they had
I didn't have an N64 until high school. Which was a good 8+ years after it was current.
Checkmate.

You're almost 30 and still talk like as a teenager with bad attitude like that? And they say Nintendo fans are the manchildren.

Whats a good controller for pc emulation then?
>massive input lag
really or just a largely imperceptible +10ms or something like that
Zelda 2 is better than any 3D Zelda
3D Zeldas arent good period.
Literally just get gud

Play Fortune Summoners instead, it's better in every way.
Zelda 2 is better than the first game.
>those sharp pixel edges

DSP is literally playing the game right now and calling it better than Zelda 1 and Links awakening.

Sounds like you're getting filtered OP.
DSP is spamming save states and is getting filtered himself and calling it bad game design. Nothing he says means anything ever. His tune will change end game anyways and he won't be able to shut up about how unfair it is.
He's literally shit-talking it and savecumming
>open stream
>"terrible gameplay"
>"rotten to the core game play"
I really wanna try that PC remake Vinny played recently.
Vinny accidentally getting a speedrun WR in this will always be funny considering his usual skill level in games
I got filtered by the final dungeon, couldn't find the boss after hours and hours of scouring and then quit forever. AMA.
Rather fair it's extremely obtuse. Pic Related I drew a line over the only correct route to the end of the final dungeon over this gamefaqs guide.
jeeze
Zelda 2 dungeons are intimidating.
>A grown ass man is "intimidated" by a videogame
Jesus Christ.

Can anyone tell me what dungeon Phil is on?
He just beat 5 so he has 6 and the end left I think, I dunno if he missed anything since I came in late. I'm so ready for the misery of the finale.
OP is right. This game is a fricking chore to play through and I hated every second of it.
I miss these old times when the graphics were cartoon-ish. I won't play the modern games; the graphics are too realistic for me.
I could deal with it once I got the heal spell
What happened to the Zelda from the first Legend of Zelda during the events of AoL?
I know in the manga she dies and her corpse gets dropped in molten lava, but surely that’s not canon?
she was probably busy ruling and/or rebuilding her kingdom.
Imagine trying to rebuild your kingdom while your bf is out fricking random prostitutes for energy and sticking his tongue down your great-great-great-grandma’s throat. Kek, what a cuck.

I don't think Zelda2 had Darknuts?
sorry I meant Iron Knuckle, same shit though, just an animated suit of armor that tries to hit you with a sword
>leaving the northern palace
mario 3 and castlevania are literally the only good nes games everything else is wet dookie
Zelda II is a game for hardcore gaming chads.
Doesn't this queen play fighting games? How can his reflexes be that bad?
>How can his reflexes be that bad?
Gin.
Why do you people enjoy watching this idiot
he's funny and literally all his haters are legitimately moronic kiwifarms troony detractorcels
