I legitimately don't think most normies will be able to get through even the mid-game levels without being on easy mode and having a walkthrough.

It's probably easier with friends. Just like real loif.
I'm in Act 2 and with this "Hospital" area included, there are at least 4 areas so fat that are basically impossible for casuals too finish.
Keep in mind that BG3 requires zero aim and it's turn based, so you only need your head, but there is no way a casual will figure out how to solve certain areas.
does the writing improve? so far it's some slop of war capeshit garbage
Hopefully your writing will one day improve
so that's a no? the game is filled with developmentally stunted "adults" struggling with adolescent hangups and communicating like autistic degenerate western art school game devs for its entirety?
what’s wrong with you
Just another terminally online election tourist by the look of it. Can't compose a single sentence without some kind of memespeak buzzword nonsense.
holy fricking projecting
20 hours in, it doesn't
i'm probably going to uninstall
bye Black person. no one will miss you
What was so impossible about the hospital area?
I managed to get Malus Thorm to kill himself by reading some of his books before the fight, did I miss out on an interesting fight?
Go stealth archer.
Not even memeing you, I have managed to kill an entire camp of enemies by just solo stealthing it.
I decided to try having Astarion in my party and holy shit rogue is broken. Should've rolled rogue instead of wizard, fricking bullshit 50% chance to hit on anything that's not magic missile.
>50% chance to hit
kek. should have read the tutorial tips moron
>acktchually you should stand in a high spot and have advantage
Yeah I know moron, rogue doesn't even need that. You just hit C and then walk 1m, sneak attack for 20 dmg and then hit C again and walk away. Meanwhile I have limited spellslots as a wizard and barely do the same amount of damage with my most powerfull spells.
>acktchually i know im playing wrong but another class is easier for my braindead style so i just complain
nice man
>barely do the same amount of damage with my most powerfull spells
get past level 5 moron
Yeah bro, that 3-23 lvl 2 spellslot dmg with 70% hit chance with advantage and high ground(miss lmao) is gonna be better than 99% hit chance action point stealth archer that hits for 22 reliably.
>i have no idea how stats work
Just wait 1 more level dude for 3rd level spells that nuke half the area while rogue is still stuck on the same gimmick.
Rogue doesn't even get 2 attacks unlike the martials and things will only get much better for spellcasters from then on.
I think rogue is very strong in the early levels but falls off later. Astarion is essentially my scout/lockpick now but falls completely short of my martials and spellcasters in terms of combat potential.
Yeah I'm stuck in goblin camp getting filtered real hard.
how is this game hard? I'm breezing through it on its hardest difficulty. Pathfinder Kingmaker on easy mode was harder than BG3. Fricking BG2 and 1 were harder. If you find this game hard to suck at RPGs. Game is so easy they even give you a summonable punching bag so you can win each battle on baby mode.
>RTwP auto attack and buffing your party for an hour simulator
>difficult
lmao at this owltrannie. the game fricking plays itself most of time
if you dont pause and use the tactical options you often get rolled on. Rtwp isn't perfect, but it is a pleb filter. Pathfinder gave you the option for both.
The problem with that is that real time games have way too many encounters. You can’t tune a game for both modes. I like the pacing in BG3, it doesn’t throw encounters at you like it was a real time game
>you can tune a game for both modes
literally what Pathfinder and Owlcat has done. Just wait for Rogue Trader to hit.
there is also no pacing for BG3. You can get through most battles fairly fast or down syndrome slow. Druid + homosexual Elf Rogue + Stonk Independent Woman that catches on fire alone are OP.
owltrannie, you are out of your mind. I am not going to argue about how every boss battle plays out the same every time, but you should shove that slavBlack person garbage up your ass.
every boss battle in BG3 plays the same too tho. kind of a shit comparison my knee grow.
Did you even play the game? Even minibosses have unique mechanics.
The 3 gobbo bosses are completely different from the hag, from the teleporting spiders, from Nere, from the burrowing worm, from the beholder, from the duergars at the lake. Not only are the encounters different each encounter has like 5 ways of dealing with it, and many let you team up with a faction so you don't have to fight them all. Bosses in BG3 are pretty fun.
you can cheese through all three goblin mini bosses by standing on a higher platform, throwing oil and casting fire on the ground they stand on. The entire goblin came was just "burn them homies" for like 20 min. I even burned Volo on accident.
The hag is similar, but with water + shock ring. create water everywhere, equip your characters with shock rings and all of her illustrations die instantly and she takes 10 to 15 damage a turn. not hard.
every fight hat been, "set some shit on the ground and ignite it" then frick off. easiest game ever.
>look up epic minmaxed build on YouTube
>pause
>click on the bad guy
>unpause
owltrannie: THIS GAME IS HARDCORE
yeah no you can't do that when attacking moonrise tower with the harpers
yeah, because you have to ice, lightning and water instead. still easy, just a different combo.
Nope, they cast hunger of hadar on the ground and you can't throw things at them.
frick off
owltrannie: YOOO THIS GAMEPLAY IS FIRE
SOVL
What game?
Sounds like you've definitely played the game, anon-chan.
see
>click attack on the enemy
owltrannie: HOLY SHIT I AM A FRICKING STRATEGIST
>choose to only use the same tools every time
>wow these fights sure are similar
Come on dude
>presses 1 button
Owltrannie: HOLY SHIT IT'S LIKE I AM PLAYING STARCRAFT
It was a faceroll the game. Its scaling goes out of control because devs cant figure stuff out.
>prebuffing is too powerful what should we do?
>Add 70AC to everything and call it a day lmao
Dude, it entered the normiesphere. Of course there will be troontards saying that it's hard. These people usually don't have any experience in D&D.
If you ever played 2e,3e and 3.5e D&D vidya before, the game's not even that hard.
This, the game isn’t hard and I think that’s fine. The only hard fights for me were Nere because I engaged both factions at the same time and I couldn’t long rest before the fight due to the time limit, the burrowing worm (embarrassed to admit it because it’s really easy once you understand you have to spread out when the game goes into turn based mode), and fighting the whole gobbo camp because I was too reliant on spells and there were way too many goblins I had to improvise
But all in all it’s been really easy
zoomers are morons and bad at literally everything, and everyone else struggling with the game is a capeshit bot
>Anon
>Follows all the beats, walks along the path, developers knew he was going to follow that road
>Man this game is so easy
>Me
>Runs past the goblin camp and gets my ass kicked by every enemy until I find a survival strategy
>Game runs at 10 fps because the devs didn't expect me to go in that direction
We are not the same
>until I find a survival strategy
you're right, I'm not a moron who struggles with a braindead RPG when i'm outleveled
>I don't struggle when outleveled
Sure you don't
Same, I have a party with two fighters and astarion and if I start the fight from hiding I'm basically able to get a grandtotal of 16 attacks of before the enemy is even allowed to react. Haven't had a single problem with any encounter ever since I got action surge and extra attack. WOTR gave me a lot more problems on Core (but that's also because I refuse to learn any 3E variation properly)
Eh, I disagree with this. I've played through Kingmaker on hard and WotR on core. BG3 is more difficult in the sense that you have to exert more on fights. It's much more tactical. Don't get me wrong though, BG3 is easy. It's just that all CRPG's are easy, because they rely on character building. BG3 just has tactical aspects.
The whole difficulty in Owlcat's games stems from character building. If you are unable to build a character yourself and are too moronic to look up a guide, then they are difficult. They aren't difficult in terms of fights, since good build will steamroll through content, even shit like Playful Darkness. This is talking about on core difficulty. Owlcat's moronic balancing isn't exactly something to be proud of and Larian gets points in my books for not just inflating enemies stats to a ridiculous degree, like the Pathfinder games.
I guess BG1 and 2 are counted in 2e, but they are ridiculously easy on core difficulty. This assumes you are able to read what spells do and bother with pre-buffing.
The game isn’t hard, but I’ve been playing dnd games since Icewind Dale, so that’s to be expected.
Normies, on the other hand, will get rekt by a combination of tabletop ruleset frickery even one as simplified as 5e and Larian’s hardon for environmental manipulation and verticality.
pathfinder is definitely way harder than this game
the builds are also much more complex, if you dont know the system and dont want to look shit up online your character will be shit
in this game you only get 3 feats max and multiclassing isnt necessary at all
More build customization =/= harder. Pathfinder is so piss it plays by itself. Literally was not challenged even once in Pathfinder games playing on challenging and hard, and I'm no d&d expert. Having basic understanding of mechanics was enough for me to breeze through the game.
>Pathfinder Kingmaker on easy mode was harder than BG3
Even the random mook battles in OS1/2/BG3 are harder than the hardest boss fights in Pathinder. It's one of the easiest crpgs there are. Just prebuff and watch your party fight by itself. If that fails, buff up more and pull out some summons.
>Le prebuff face-roll power fantasy game
>Hard
Why are owl-trannies such compulsive liars?
Really? I had to turn it up to the higher difficulty just to keep it interesting.
I don't think it's brutally difficult, but I was surprised at how challenging some parts are. I was worried normal mode would be a cakewalk. I wish it was a smidge harder though
lmao try unfair PF WOTR or KM then come back to me
what the frick was his problem?
I am having a lot of trouble assassinating the three goblin leaders. Every time I get the last one, the whole camp goes hostile. Is it possible, or this outcome guarunteed and I am wasting my time?
>can't even kill the whole goblin camp at the start of the game
LOL
good luck Anon, you will fricking need it
No, I could wipe them, but I want to leave them alive. Halsin even has a dialog option about only needing to cut the heads off of the snake.
Yes I killed all three of them in self contained fights and fast traveled away afterwards. Went back and killed the other gobbos after.
>Went back and killed the other gobbos after.
were they hostile or neutral?
Hostile. They immediately bumrushed me as soon as I teleported in. Thought I'd actually be in for some trouble before shadowbae crit one-shot the ogre. Most useful thing she's done yet.
Just throw a fireball
Spoiler alert
>get lost
>end up in the underdark
>fight a giant burrowing lizard-like monster that almost 1hits anyone on my team
>manage to kill him
>spot a mushroom men colony
>befriend one of them
>he can reaise a corpse as a temporary ally
>decide to go back and check if i can raise the giant lizard thing
>i can
>now i have its deadly leap thing on my use
This game is amazing!
>get to underdark
>encounter the Spectator
>one of the petrified drow shoves it into the chasm killing it instantly
kek
That’s cool maybe I’ll give it a try
Oh shit you're still around cool
Reeeee I skipped the mushroom men entirely i want that power
that thing killed the hell out of me so I said 'i will come back and do this later' and forgot to come back
Literally why, most of the quest in the underdark are from the fungi men, also i find extremely hilarious my bro is getting stuck on every passageway and have to use jump to be able to move.
When I first went down there I was low level, had just fought the spiders, and trying not to rest, the minotaurs got me very low. I encountered spores and the mushroom voices while I looted after getting hit by a fireball trap which burned the rope ladder. One guy tossed all the chests down to my lockpicking guy to open. I found my way into the temple with the waypoint and then decided to rest and continue on the surface, so it was a long time before I came back to the underdark. I did everything else on the surface, got wrecked to spectator, did the arcane tower, the ambush at the beach, all of grymforge, went back to the surface for hag and gnolls, and just kinda forgot about spectator and mushroom men.
quick question, will gale consume magic items that i equip on him?
No
There are a few encounters that can be pretty hard, but I've found you always have a way to deal with them. In the Nere fight I was getting thrown into the lava and dying but I realized that using an arrow of darkness made it so they wouldn't target me avoiding the insta kills. One level 2 spell made most of the difference.
playing on tactician its ok not as hard as wotr
>fighting a boss under moonrise towers
>remember that I still have Lump's warhorn
>Tooooot
"You are far from any ogre ears down here"
Frick, I thought it would be magic
Wait is this actually how it works? That's fricking bullshit. All the fights were to easy in the first map, so I wanted to save it for something big. FRICK.
Im gonna try blowing it in baldurs gate and see if they come frick up the city or not. I thought I was gonna have to use it on the hag in act1 but either they made her way easier than EA or I got good
Unfortunately it doesn't with on the final boss either. I saved it specifically for that.
Looks like I'm getting that +int headpiece out of bri'isher's gut
>Ranger/Fighter
>Gloomstalker
>Take Archery and Dual Weapon Fighting
>hide
>put hunter's mark on something while hidden from farm away
>start combat with 3 attacks and a dread ambusher attack
>go invisible with umbral shroud or item invisibility
Pure edgy ludo. I kind of want to take a level in Rogue too just for sneak attack shit.
I am contemplating turning up the difficulty. After level 4 game got way easier. Will do tactician on my next run for cheevo.
>leveling
you didn't beat the game
normies will, and are currently, instantly googling
>best X multiclass build
pretty hard to fricking lose if you do a cleric 1 bard 11, or palalock, or any of the other cookie cutter builds. i'm sure some people will still drop the game but it's not that severe.
holy shit lel
I am not a normal homosexual like (you)
It's just BG 3 doesn't tell you what you will get at a max level
My idea of a class may be different from what is actually in the game
>use a feature specifically for advanced users, those familiar to the game itself (EA) and those familiar with DnD
>complain
why would a fricking roleplaying game tell you what you get at max level you filthy fricking normie. go spend the 100g and experiment like everyone else does JESUS CHRIST
>pick subclass
>feel like I've picked the wrong one
Which monk subclass is the best? I play as a drow (good version) so I thought that darkvision from the ninja will be useless and picked open palm, even though it sounds basic. Element monk felt like a worse wizard.
Yeah i know...sorry heh but im not gonna do it...yeah im not gonna play your nasty ass foul as frick gross troony game...yes i know i know youre gonna call me an incel...
But the truth is normal healthy men find homosexuals literally sickening and heres the proof
https://www.psypost.org/2017/06/straight-mens-physiological-stress-response-seeing-two-men-kissing-seeing-maggots-49217
Yes yes youre gonna say 'chud' because you have zero creativity with petty insults but yeah im just not gonna do it...im not gonna play your gross nauseating homosexual game.
And yes im sure this means i should 'touch grass' but im also gonna avoid any and all content related to this disgusting shit...
Why is it always owlnigs and bug fetishists that are behind the shitposts in BG3 threads? I even saw one of them in a Steam review where he mentioned WOTR like 7 times and how much it did better over BG3 and then it had 50 clown awards. Actual mentally ill fanbase of troonsteins. SAD!
It's people who tie their self worth to the games they play. In their mind, if another game were to come along and do the genre better, that invalidates the hundreds of hours they spent on the game when they're already insecure about wasting their life.
well, homosexual, there are only 2 good crpg companies making games, and while both are good at different things, both are the only one worth arguing over.
no one cares, normies are lapping this woke shit up
they just want to frick the bear and tentacle face
>brutally difficult
I'm playing on balanced and it isn't that hard. It is harder than it was in the EA but I'm not finding it that challenging.
I can see noobies having a tough time with it though. Just make sure to buy decent gear and weapons for you party.
Is it actually any good.
Heard there are no microtransactions
I think it’s great and there are no micro transactions. The game has its flaws but I still like it
I'm not feeling bard bros.
Bard is based, can cast spells, can buff, can debuff, can heal, can fight frontlne, can snipe with a crossbow from range.
The jack of all trades and master at all of them.
No way, DND is way more simple than the system used in DOS and even their normal mode is easy to steamroll if you played Dragon Age Origins when you were 13.
Turn off karmic dice.
Bros, what's some advice you wished you knew earlier with DND?
Always wanted to play it, never had a group.
Thought I'd give BG3 a shot and I'm having a fun time. Having fun rolling dice for skill checks and just accepting the results 90% of the time cause I'm playing on a Hard Drive.
Going pretty slow but I'd like to be a bit better at the combat to give me more choice. This Bog Witch is giving me guff and my only choice is to take it cause otherwise she just goes invisible and slaughters me.
>Bros, what's some advice you wished you knew earlier with DND?
For the actual game? If you have a cool idea ask your DM, the player's handbook/dungeon's master's guide are fine for making a general build for your character, but if you want to do something specific that's not outlined in there, just ask your DM if you can have your character practice working towards it or find an item etc. Or if you want to do something in game, just say your character is going to do something and let your DM figure out the appropriate roll associated with it, don't think about what you can or can't do.
all the trannies saying it isn't hard are save scumming or are big fans of that woke DoS2 game
Nah just reload all the time
Frick chance to hit
The worst mechanic in videogames
>multiclassing
>surprise attacks
>pickpocketing from vendors
If you did any of these things, you didn't beat the game.
creating a character is also cheating. you should only use the story characters and only keep them as their starting classes
Me and my wife Shadowcutie.
>he didn't remove the men from his party
sus
Kinda makes me sad to see how everyone is shouting about "muh builds" and "muh difficulty", instead of just thinking of an idea for a character and roleplaying it in the game. Are you people like this with the PnP game as well?
How am I supposed to roleplay shit when I need to be sufficient enough in combat to not get rolled by the smallest packs.
I don't understand how wizard works in this stupid game, two packs and I'm already out of spells for the day. Should I be doing a long rest every big fight ffs.
Yeah or learn to conserve your spells
>How am I supposed to roleplay shit when I need to be sufficient enough in combat to not get rolled by the smallest packs.
I'm just going with the flow and I've had zero issues. Admittedly some encounters kick my shit in at first but that's part of the fun. I'm rolling with a monk, shadowheart, gale and the frog lady.
I'm more or less doing exactly that. I think a lot of these people are too used to the Pathfinder games on core difficulty (and above), thinking they need to be minmaxed to perfection just to barely survive most fights. I'm enjoying just being the most fun character I played in the tabletop again and it's cool that it has been way more viable here than it was there (they buffed monk like crazy for this game).
I'm just roleplaying a character and handling tactician just fine, at Act 2 atm. Although I don't waste a character by having a "dedicated tank" that isn't able to do anything useful other than hope that the AI is stupid enough to target him instead of actual threats.
coming up with builds to do different shit in combat is much more fun than just picking something because maybe it'll give you some different but probably meaningless dialogue options
if i make my character a tiefling girl with a wiener can i frick my male party members up the ass or will i be forced to bottom for them
Tactical's kinda bullshit. Wild animals shouldn't have advanced military tactics.
it's p easy if you get into its groove and don't try to play it like an MMORPG like the morons who complain that it doesn't have "tank and dps"
What's the achievement rate so far?
99% of people quit these games after the first couple of days when their adhd tiktok brain forces them to hype the next big thing.
You'll see a huge decline over the next few days as the huge influx of players from 'bear sex lol' slowly wean off when they realize there's an actual videogame under there.
>get to the big city finally
>wow this is cool and lively
>theres a second delay on my actions but my fps is fine
