Difficulty has very little correlation with fun?
Even at the time you had maybe 90 to 10 games that were MADE to be hard yet didnt receive as much attention, I wonder why.
there needs to be somewhat of a challenge to keep you engaged. If not, then there should be other stuff to make up for it. Grabbing a cape and flying through 90% of the levels isn't fun no matter what else is going on.
>Grabbing a cape and flying through 90% of the levels isn't fun no matter what else is going on
Oh that's what you're doing. You're gonna get fricked in the forest levels. And the boo mansions too.
>why is the cape so broken? fricking shiggy forcing me to use the cape and threatening me at gunpoint for not using it >what? NOT use it? whats the point?????
games are suppose to be fun, if its not fun, then make it fun for yourself
Actual troon logic
>if its available then why would I not use it? >if they didn't want us to steal from stores they should have made it more than a misdemeanor
worse, it's Black person logic
Why not just use WSL? That's my go-to whenever I have to make my own changes to emulators.
I think I had a Linux partition at the time as I needed it for my masters, so it was faster to just reboot
>washed out colors >farty soudntrack >cant reenter castles without beating the game first >stretched out visuals
its not unplayable, but tis definitely inferior to the SNES version

I applied these two patches so it feel like the original, maybe the screen is a bit too small sometimes
https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4411/
https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/470/
The reason is because I already beat the original years ago, i felt like replaying via trying the remake.
I like the coin tracker and I want to earn the 100% cutscene.
I already completed:
Super Mario Bros. Deluxe (the score meter was insane)
SMA: SMB2
SMA4: SMB3 (with all the e-reader levels using the Wii-U rom)
After this i'll go for the yoshi island gba version, i already beat the original years ago as well.
I played the GBA version so autistically as a kid. Since it records which characters you clear which exits with I beat all the normal exits with Mario and all the secret ones with Luigi so everything looked nice on the course list screen.

based, I decided to clear everything as Mario, since Luigi has weird physics I'll just play each level once with him after I unlock the Autumn mode whatever it was called
it was fun, something typically lacking in mario games. i think this, the original kart, and kingdom battle were the only mario games i played to completion.
pfff you can literally unblock the entire star road without even finding any of the block switches
not to mention once you beat a level, you can leave any time you want with the power ups you got
Frick off you dumb homosexual
fpbp
honestly the only sane and reasonable reaction to this zoomer trash thread trend
Why does Yoshi have a look of sexual arousal on his face?
Obviously because I told them to? Wtf, what a dumb question, everyone knows it was because of me
My favorite Mario game

I said 90% of the levels, and I already beat it.
And? Did you not get fricked in the forest and boo mansions.?
why do you use the cape then, play the levels with just platforming for extra fun
if its available then why would I not use it? The devs should've discouraged you from using them if they didn't want it to be too easy.
Actual troon logic
>why is the cape so broken? fricking shiggy forcing me to use the cape and threatening me at gunpoint for not using it
>what? NOT use it? whats the point?????
>yeah just don't use a main item in the game then it will be balanced
you playvRE4 with the chicago typewriter, dont you
yes? It's up to the devs to make the game balanced, not the player. It's no different than allowing save-scumming or only having set save points.

y helo thar
Most were probably kids playing this, and even still, a few levels on world 8 and many of the special stages don't fk around.
>many of the special stages don't fk around.
>Tubular
Tubular is pretty easy, especially since it's the shortest level in the entire game.
No one knew the tricks and skips
I'm going for 100% on GBA version now, decided to only play as Mario, maybe will do Luigi after I unlock the funny faces
>GBA version
anon...why...
NTA but whats wrong with it?
I remember 100% it because it had a coin tracker for uhh something that I already forgot

this was insane, also had to install Linux so i could compile an emulator that allows infrared emulation so I could complete the album

Oh god

>CRT shader
>for a handheld
Do zoomers really?
>good controls
>nice music and visuals
>lots of content
>pack-in launch title
because its an absolute joy to play
>GBA Valley of Bowser
it was fun, something typically lacking in mario games. i think this, the original kart, and kingdom battle were the only mario games i played to completion.
still better than mario 3 and still the best 2D, seethe and cope
Because it's a fun video game. I doubt you even played any of the Star World levels you frickin POSER
you just dont get good level design like this anymore. Wonder had a couple secret exits that it did really well but World was PEAK
>grown adult as an easy time with old game after years of playing its successors.
>Goes on Ganker to ask why its easy.
Because it was designed for children, not adults.
It's fun.
>easy as piss
It was literally not
pfff you can literally unblock the entire star road without even finding any of the block switches
not to mention once you beat a level, you can leave any time you want with the power ups you got
Agreed
3 is the better game overall
more power ups
more diverse stages
secrets that are actually secrets
and the japanese version is actually hard
>more powerups
not true, however
>secrets that are actually secrets
how is the star world + star road not a secret?
This was before Dark Souls when people played video games for fun.
