NTA but if I guess because it is pretty simple and designed for children compared to other Dungoencrawl board games. so he views it as not intellectual enough him but he still enjoys it.
That's why it's guilty. I'd like the vintage but can't afford. Hasbro's cheapness is on full display with nu-quest but my players all have a great time doing this.
Thanks to me, though,, I let them do whatever they want and turn each quest into an epic battle rather than the wet farts most are.
I'm in the process of painting all the minis, and my friends are on like mission 8.
I have the original and the remake. Aside from some of the mini design changes because of IP issues with troonyhammer it's a solid game. Its been as low as 40 something dollars on Amazon as well so there's no excuse not to get it.

Heroquest is based to play with family.
How is advanced heroquest?

Dungeon Saga Origins bested this garbage remake in every way.
I can't believe that plebs still flock like sucklings for GW prices with Hasbro politics.
Very different. A lot more brutal and far more of a hobby game where you're expected to write your own adventures and the like. Has the interesting feature that random dungeon generation makes a lot of empty corridors, which is a bit awkward unless your table is huge.
Warhammer Quest (1995) was far better than either, especially with the amount of minis they gave you in the box back then.
It also had a solo play option that was well implemented. I even had friends at the time it’s just none of them would touch anything fantasy/rpg/table top games related.
How easy it is to expand it once you finish the campaign. Everything from characters, to weapons to abilities is all out there. And you can throw it all down on any map you find.
so now that Hasbro/Avalon Hill is in bed with GW doing a new edition for Talisman I wonder if Gw will let Hasbro do a new version of Advanced HeroQuest
Why would either of them want to? It doesn't have broad enough appeal for Hasbro, and GW is surely better off making new versions of Quest.
If anything Space Crusade would be more likely given how popular 40k is, but even that lacks the nostalgia factor in the US. I can't see them doing it - but I'd have said the same about Heroquest, so what do I know?
considering that Cursed City is considered a failure at GW I don't think there is much interest in doing another WarhammerQuest Revieal so soon, just letting Hasbro have the licence like they have just done with Talisman is easy money for GW
Why the frick would Hasbro have any interest in AHQ? It's far too niche for them, never mind that it's basically designed as a hobby game to play with your Citadel miniatures.
This game is why I like the otherwise dumb vancian system. Cause I like the idea of holding a bunch of spell cards, and when you toss it onto the table. You cast it. That's That.
Why guilty? It's an awesome game.

>designed for children
So the level of preparation is low and you can play with friends and family, sounds gr8
GM'ing is pretty boring.
Yeah but you know what, after a couple of games, if one in ten people I know wants to take up a more detailed dungeon crawl, awesome.
>Why guilty?
It's the yassifed remake.
Well, given the large role interdiction plays in most of our drive and desires it's safe to say most pleasures are guilty to some degree
>remake
kys.
No, you have a nice day.
Bit deranged

Don't let yourself be bullied for playing the wrong edition by some mouth breather, are you a poof
>oh, nerds, please accept my apology
No, he's a fricking moron who doesn't play
So you're making the best of a suboptimal situation then? Proceed.
It's the same fricking game without the insane retro pricetag.
It's the same fricking game with worse artworks.

>Dungeon Saga Origins
Probably gonna buy it in abt a fortnight
Is that chess?

Lol I know that feel. Sci fi is an easier sell, but when the hose and the lutes come out...
Same
tell me /tg/, what is the best thing about heroquest?
How easy it is to expand it once you finish the campaign. Everything from characters, to weapons to abilities is all out there. And you can throw it all down on any map you find.
The gargoyle. Anyone who looks at that sculpt will know and think they need to get in on this HeroQuest -- and they would be right.
Is that dare I say the greatest /tg/ video of all time? Doge lamenters would be somewhere on the list of contenders.
I still like the Fimir and was disappointed when there weren't in the Hasbro version but I can guess why that was the case
Licencing.
Absolutely great to get Normies into the hobby.
So close to a boardgame it won't scare people off, yet very easy to expand.
What board game is this anon?
It's heroquest with 3d printed tiles.
That's really cool. I have a printer and plenty of citadel paint, I might have to try this.
I love heroquest. I just wish it had a scifi, sw or 40k equivalent.
Don't know how it plays though.
HeroQuest with homemade board pieces.
Space Crusade
Space Hulk
Closest thing SW got was Imperial Assault I think
so now that Hasbro/Avalon Hill is in bed with GW doing a new edition for Talisman I wonder if Gw will let Hasbro do a new version of Advanced HeroQuest
The "advanced" games were always GWs own, so no.
Why would either of them want to? It doesn't have broad enough appeal for Hasbro, and GW is surely better off making new versions of Quest.

and 'ere I slew a full field of thistles to be able to pre-order the upcoming expansion.
>playing heroquest
>not playing magic realm (1979)
