I can forgive a little bit of jank for a cool IP. I really enjoyed Fallen Order, finished that quickly. I only saw the first GotG movie, but I enjoyed that as well.

I'm making fun of the fact you are trying to draw connections between completely different games. GotG doesn't have RPG mechanics, no matter how much you try to pretend it has. GotG battle system if completely different having more in common with Japanese action titles like Vanquish which is essentially a hack and slash with guns. You call it worse level design because you don't understand the point is to avoid enemy attacks in real time and punish it accordingly instead of the Mass Effect way where you take potshots until the enemy dies and shake up fortifications with abilities.
Just because Borderlands and Halo are both sci fi and FPS games it doesn't mean they have anything in common. One is a looter shooter and the other is a classic arena FPS.
Borderlands has more common with ANY (yes even TPS or top down) looter shooters than Halo.

This game was actually pretty good, great, even, for capeshit, up until the last 30 minutes, then it just shat the bed. What the actual frick, it's like all the writers just quit and they had to wrap everything up quickly to finish the game.Basically after they defeat Raker everything after that felt like a different game altogether, the animation felt choppy and the writing felt dumber, the whole walk of pride with everyone dancing next to them and all of their "friends" showing up to tell them how amazing they are, I thought for sure we're gonna discover that it's another promise in Peter's head or something because it was so cheesy and too good to be true type of scene that i was shocked that it wasn't. And Nikki is completely ignored even tho she was the driving force of the whole adventure. She has firey red hair now, no one gonna talk about that? what exactly is she now? like, zero acknowledgment to what she's been through and she just laughs it off as if people haven't died because of her. To be fair the guardians of the galaxy were always literal whos that no one cared about before the james gunn movie.
Honestly though I think it was to the benefit of the MCU that marvel had sold off the rights to their A list properties decades before they got bought out by disney so they had nothing left by the lower-tier characters to make movies, which put a lot less expectations on them than those iconic characters everyone knows.
It isn't like captain america or iron man were obscure, but they were never the draws of the publisher like the x men or spiderman were.
Think about batman, every time there's a new movie everyone compares it to their platonic ideal of batman, but before the iron man movies all anyone knew about tony stark was he had a robot suit, was kind of an butthole, and a drunk.
