Enjoys a franchise from secondary entries. A good example of this would Persona, which is a spin-off of Shin Megami Tensei, or Touhou Black folk that only look at porn rather than play the games.
>A good example of this would Persona, which is a spin-off of Shin Megami Tensei
That's like saying people who like MGS don't like Metal Gear because they're not technically the same series, moronbro
You're right about 2hu but that's entirely different (and also the reason the term came into common parlance)
Yeah you're right, but I mean they ONLY play the secondary entries/look at fan content and ignore the "primary" series.
Like in you're example, of someone has only played/likes MGR over MGS, that would make them a secondary.
What most "huge fans" of DF are familiar with are the forum fanfics that employ heavy creative liberties to make the narratives more interesting than what actually happened, their actual experience with the game is maybe 30 minutes of generating worlds and reading legends mode.
>Dwarf Fortress
Playing with grafix >God Hand
Old arcade beat em ups maybe?
>DF
adventure mode I guess
None of you gays know what "secondary" means. This one

has the right of it. The most common usage of "secondary" as an insult on Ganker is specifically refer to people like self-proclaimed Touhou fans who have never played any of the games. Daggerfall is similar, those gays used to cling onto Morrowind (which they also didn't play) but it's too popular now so they need to latch onto something else. 99% of people who will rec Daggerfall have not played it.
Its just another moron who thinks no one heard of either before Sseth did it.
It's almost always the case when DF and God Hand are mentioned in the same post as being "secondary-filled".
It's funny how whatever god hand discussion there was went to shit not because of "secondaries" invading the fanbase due to his review, but morons constantly jumping into the threads to whine about sseth.
DF had a massive secondary fanbase before your eceleb ever heard of it, I'm not sure about the timing on God Hand but it's very obvious how threads are infested with secondaries.
I became most aware of this phenomenon with GTA IV, there was this guy who would keep reposting the same few arguments and webms over and over and I kept also seeing some other anons always praising the exact same things as a gotcha against GTA V, all seemingly out of nowhere. It was only later that I found out the source of all those posts were all one popular youtube video. This keeps happening more and more frequently lately.
touhou has one of the largest and most dedicated video game fanbases in the world but most of them never played the games. they just like the characters and the music.
Daggerfall is primary and more Elder Scrolls than Morrowind you dumb Black person. NV is more Fallout than 3. You literally made that meme yourself I know you did because you have the same exact autistic explainable for it.
Enjoys a franchise from secondary entries. A good example of this would Persona, which is a spin-off of Shin Megami Tensei, or Touhou Black folk that only look at porn rather than play the games.
secondary means you haven't played the game but are a fan of it from watching youtubers or streamers or seeing fan art
It's about people who are "totally fans" but consume media primarily through secondary sources, in God Hand's case it's about people who obviously only know the game from youtube reviewers.
The posting patterns become obvious once you start nooticing, someone earnestly telling their experiences versus someone listing off review bulletpoints always come across differently.
>hmm, these games are too old, too hard, and too obtuse. i couldn't get into them >nobody is as patient, tasteful, or as intelligent as me, therefore they are all pretending to have played these games
this thread is narcissist kino
Contrary to what youtubers told you, none of those games are hard or obtuse. They're actually very approachable really.
I'd say Daggerfall is the hardest one to get into and it's also the one that tricks you into thinking it's far deeper than it actually is, quite disappointing when you realize every town and dungeon is always the same few blocks arranged randomly.
hey i'm just trying to guess at what compels someone to make a thread like this
dorf fort is the only game i might agree has a lot of fans who only know about the game through memes despite it actually being fairly easy and accessible via tilesets
Secondarism is one of if not the main source of horrible shitposting in this board, it's so bad they aren't even called out anymore and actually brag about not playing the games they're supposedly discussing.

what defines a game to be poser core? cuz i could name a couple like Kings Field and Persona 2 but I dont know if it fits in that category.
Is it trying to hard to fit in?
JRPGs have a case of secondary hatebases who make shit up about "grinding" in a genre largely defined by its straightforwardness in approach. All JRPGs I've played are obviously tuned so that you can just keep going forward with resources to spare.
>Jackass OP doesn't know what a 'secondary' is, because he's a brown Indian headbobbing moron that barely speaks english >Tries to make a thread anyways
I miss when Ganker only PRETENDED to be moronic.
The term literally comes from touhou fans that don't play the games but instead "like the characters and art", I don't know where you guys are taking your reddit definition from.
It was mostly used for those who just watched the anime of say, Fate or Higurashi without playing the games.
Applying it to game spinoffs of other games is stretching the definition.
the fact that nuGanker is confused at the definition of secondary and trying to twist it to mean something they don't personally fit into just goes to show how infested this board is with secondaries
To maximize (You) potential Daggerfall needs to be replaced with some hotter game since its wave of secondary popularity is gone already.
Any suggestions? I'm thinking GTA IV or TF2, they both have huge youtuber presence.
Maybe expand it into 3x3 but the bait will be diluted.
Where's Persona?
Define secondary

??????????
The image is nonsensical bait, with the only one maybe making sense being FNV. Why would anyone address it seriously?

Playing with grafix

Old arcade beat em ups maybe?

adventure mode I guess

it's just shitty bait, NV fans are like this all the time
None of you gays know what "secondary" means. This one

And have you really played DF if you've only managed to play adventure mode
>hurr yes
you're a DF secondary
>have you really played DF if you've only managed to play adventure mode
Yes moron, Adventure is half-baked but it's still actually playing the game
Nope.
Its just another moron who thinks no one heard of either before Sseth did it.

Nobody gives a frick about Slaves to Armok
I only like the 2hu fangames like the fighters
Daggerfall is primary and more Elder Scrolls than Morrowind you dumb Black person. NV is more Fallout than 3. You literally made that meme yourself I know you did because you have the same exact autistic explainable for it.
>You literally made that meme yourself
No I didn't.
>you have the same exact autistic explainable for it.
No, I don't, see
What are you talking about schizo?
secondary means you haven't played the game but are a fan of it from watching youtubers or streamers or seeing fan art
who the frick plays daggerfall as their main game?
>daggerfall
>not morrowind
MorrowBlack folk literally only know anything about the game from video essays and old greentext screencaps.
is this what skyrimbabies actually believe?
Post your Morrowind playtime
Morrowind came out before steam was a thing.
But you weren't alive before Steam was a thing
It's true the way people talk about Morrowind being a hardcore rpg with player agency.
I'd rather read uesp than play any of the games
Okay wait. Wait wait. Somebody explain to me what this thread is about, because for the life of me I don't understand it.
God Hand is literally the only God Hand game you idiot.
yes and 98% of people who suck it off haven't played it
It's about people who are "totally fans" but consume media primarily through secondary sources, in God Hand's case it's about people who obviously only know the game from youtube reviewers.

EYE is comically obtuse
It's also comically bad.
I wasn't confused by EYE's systems, I was confused as to why it made such monumentally dull shooty missions after building up all these systems.
hey i'm just trying to guess at what compels someone to make a thread like this

Seeing enough secondaries.
Secondarism is one of if not the main source of horrible shitposting in this board, it's so bad they aren't even called out anymore and actually brag about not playing the games they're supposedly discussing.
bait, that's it, that's all you need to know
Contrary to what youtubers told you, none of those games are hard or obtuse. They're actually very approachable really.
I'd say Daggerfall is the hardest one to get into and it's also the one that tricks you into thinking it's far deeper than it actually is, quite disappointing when you realize every town and dungeon is always the same few blocks arranged randomly.
None of those games are hard to get into, except maybe stalker and E.Y.E
I purchased Eye and TW101 day 1, eat my dick.
It's not like there was anything else on Wii U at the time.
I had ico and mgs2 as a kid
what defines a game to be poser core? cuz i could name a couple like Kings Field and Persona 2 but I dont know if it fits in that category.
Is it trying to hard to fit in?
Posercore are meant to be safe choices like RDR2, The Witcher 3 and PS4 exclusives.
>nu Ganker doesn't even know what secondary means
fricking secondaries
how the FRICK is silent hill 2 not on there
Where's Silent Hill 2?
Where's Mother 3?
like fr? or frfr? i need to know just how real it is.
Heroes of Might & Magic?
Although having played 3 thru 7 can't say I blame them.
FFXIV.
rpgs attract secondaries more because you don’t ever have to bring up gameplay in discussion about the game.
JRPGs have a case of secondary hatebases who make shit up about "grinding" in a genre largely defined by its straightforwardness in approach. All JRPGs I've played are obviously tuned so that you can just keep going forward with resources to spare.

I've played 3 of those, is daggerfall any good? I was eyeballing Daggerfall Unity awhile back but I never bothered to actually try it.
It's a fun unique novelty but a novelty it is. Cool tech that's worth experiencing but deeply flawed as a game.
the fact that nuGanker is confused at the definition of secondary and trying to twist it to mean something they don't personally fit into just goes to show how infested this board is with secondaries

SMTVV just came out so Nocturne or SMT2 would be good.
>mfw remembering when dorf fort had no z levels and you had to flood the river for soil
>Flood the river
But its already full of water...
>A fluvial, or river flood, occurs when the water level in a river, lake or stream rises and overflows onto the neighboring land.
I only go as far back as maps having 20 or so Z-levels, not every map having candy, and body parts having hit points
Seeing a carp bite chunk after chunk out of a harpy's leg was pretty metal
