This is the most generic video game I've ever played in my life. All the characters are bland and played entirely straight typecasts. The entire plot is so unbelieveably dull and generic, and the writing so dry and lifeless that I stopped talking to anyone except who I'm forced to. Even the combat is the most bland 0 effort shit, and literally has no actual options besides basic attacking everything 99% of the time.
And despite all of this, I'm still enjoying the game because of the additions mechanic, I'm shocked more jrpgs didn't rip this off and make it common place, it would increase the playability of the genre 10x. Especially if it was added to a good jrpg battle system like Grandia, or FF13 or 10-2
That's nice, dear.
Sorry, I forgot you're not supposed to actually have discussion about video games here. Let me fix my post for you to abide by the high standards of this board
>Absolute SOVL! tendies will never experience this kino. I just wish it had a Saturn version (The best console of that generation btw.) I want Rose to step on me.
>I want Rose to step on me.
based
as far as addition system goes, have you played the mario&luigi games? the combat in Dragoon had potential but as you said you're so limited it became tedious. At first I thought I had to do something to unlock more options and that I would see them after playing a few hours, but no, that's really all there is (and the mashing when you're using magic item kinda sucks). At least the M&L games have a more typical battle system on top of the addition-like system.
You still sound like a raging homosexual. Waste of a thread by a moron who can't appreciate older games. Maybe you should stick to Fortnite or the latest madden game.
its spelled KENO dumbass,
and thats a contrarian shitpost not a gambling sim!
You can have a discussion but the rule is you can't post dumb inane poopy which you not only did in the OP but did so again in your spergout. I think Ganker is more fitting for you if I'm gonna be blunt here.
You need to stop fricking posting raaarrrgghh get banned, you homosexual
OP. Legend of Dragoon is "had to be there" tier of playstation jrpg's. much like Wild Arms. It's good if you give it a chance.
>Wild Arms
all i remember is that i was having a lot more fun than expected then got filtered hard by some puzzle involving some chests that made zero fricking sense to me
tldr
But it's fun.
If you don't like it, you don't have to play it. It's ok to quit.
Dragoons are cool.
I once had a chance to steal this game, but it was not worth stealing.
>additions mechanic
Shadow Hearts did this better with the judgment wheel. A far superior game.
>Shadow Hearts
My man
You're right, it's very mediocre. People regarded it as very mediocre back then and I still feel it is today, despite the protests on this board.
still better than FFVIII
*FFX
VIII is at least bad in an interesting way because its flaws were a result of Square being more experimental than you were with your "bi" friend in middle school. Dragoon is just run of the mill crap by Sony to cash in on the JRPG boom at the time.
hmm i saw this thread before
bot or discord troony?
rent free uwu
Russian troony bot
I think I played through like 2/3 of this game, but at some point the combat timed hits thing just got old and I just dropped it.
It's a cool mechanic, but the game is WAY too long to be carried solely by it, and the rest of the game is very meh as you said it yourself
take that back
I already know you gay will love this game once it gets a hyperealistic graphix woke remake
Regurgitate more buzzwords you insect
There is only one which i know it angers you a lot, bug homosexual
Is a dragoon like some sort of troon?
Well yeah. That's kind of the whole point. It was Sony's Final Fantasy rip-off.
People are buzzing about it nowadays, but back in PSX days, which for me personally was the peak of my interest in jRPGs (and I played a loooot), I found it boring as well. Never finished it. Generic characters, generic story, legit same sort of thoughts OP. Maybe I'd appreciate it more as an adult, dunno, but as a kid it bored me to death.
I completely agree.
I loved just about every JRPG for the PS1 that I played, but never bothered to finish this one. At the time it was also regarded as mediocre, averaging a rating of 3/5 when there were still a few actually impartial periodicals. I miss gaming mags, bros.
Never played LoD, but this is exactly how I feel about Skies of Arcadishits. Should really be called "babby's 1st RPG."
I just never got around to beating it. The kind of game I wanted to like but lost interest in.
>I just never got around to beating it. The kind of game I wanted to like but lost interest in.
Me playing FF VII
VOLCANOOOOOOOO
What are you gayging about? It has some of the coolest locations in jRPG HISTORY, as well as the best dragon designs ever witnessed by man. The world's history is rich and well crafted and Lavitz death actually had impact, unlike Airshit's.
meru is cute
That game, the suikodens and the breath of fires are all utterly forgettable. For a system known for its rpg's (ps1), a lot of them aren't great.
