Half his post is right. My sister is a 22 year old zoomer and her favourite game is a GameCube game. She doesn't give a shit about the PS1 and N64 generation as she never played anything from that generation.
Playing a console or game 10yrs after its release does not mean it was a cultural centre piece of your generation. The hype towards release and feeling of novelty as you explore with friends is key to generational culture. If better developments already exist and the media is decades old, it loses its importance to a young generation. I don't know how Zoomers keep failing to understand this.
>Nintendo burned a lot of bridges with third party developers in the late-90s >Sega was clearly dead in the water even with a respectable new console >Nobody believed Xbox would be a success >The PS1 sold like water in a desert
It was Sony or nothing for the 6th generation at the outset.
What exactly is stopping me from playing those nowadays?
23, of those I've played SH2, Ico and Jax. It was pretty interesting playing through SH2 and Ico, feels like "art" games of today never really feel this earnest or genuine.
Snoy wants big block buster games with lots of advertising and high graphical fidelity. No more weird passion projects made by people with a love for creativity. Games are too expensive for that.
>Acecombat
Not bad >Dark alliance
Never played it >DMC1
Great >FFX
Kind of shit >GT3
Probably okay, never played it >GTA3
Fricking shit >ICO
boring >Jak and Daxter
It was okay >MGS2
8/10, 3 fixed the gameplay but 2 had a better story and setting >Silent Hill 2
10/10, shits on all of the modern first person walking simulators while having the unfortunate consequence of inspiring all of those shitty walking simulators that try to be 3deep5u because of it, even though silent hill 2 never tried to do that, just tried to do a simple twist that works.
What games would actually hold up to a zoomer today from the PS2 generation? Maybe something like Jak and Daxter as its got a more cartoon art style and the controls are very approachable. Something like the old GTA games do not hold up at all to zoomers as the controls are bad.
I'm boomer and these are the only ones I played and FFX and Devil May Cry I didn't play until the PS3 HD collection versions. So GTA3, Jak and MGS2 are the only ones I actually played on PS2.
I played Dark Alliance on my gamecube and abused 2 player to send my experienced character back to the beginning of the game. I bought the DMC package on steam but haven't played it yet.
ICO sucks. Muh Atmosphere used as a cover for horrendous controls and worse design.
same shit with bloodborne
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE FORTNITE
I'm a zoomed according to you gays and I grew up in the PS1/N64 along with the PS2/GameCube era. This is zoomer core.
I think you are just poor.

Why did they make these games exclusively for PS2 back then? Why did Capcom not make Devil may Cry for Dreamcast?
Dreamcast was already discontinued
>Why did Capcom not make Devil may Cry for Dreamcast?
Too weak and not enough disc capacity.
they already got burned trying to support Sega's doa shitbox on launch
Because everyone was on the PlayStation train in the late 90s. Both developers and audiences. Just the hype alone for the PS2 killed the Dreamcast.

They can still emulate them

Nothing and you should.
PS1 made bank and the PS2 was loking to be somehow bigger, it was undeniable that Sony was going to lead the console race that generation.
we got all this variety while zoomers have nothing but fornite and endless dark souls slop
5 out of 10 games on this list are dogshit so this is not the own you think it is.
It's amazing how this one holiday season has more games than the entirely of the last two generations.
My PS2 collected dust while I played og Xbox. Ps2 is extremely overrated because it was Black folk first console
there are literally more games in this picture than exclusives for the ps5, a 3 year old console
what went wrong, exactly?

To be fair those also aren't all exclusives, I had Dark Alliance on Gamecube.

This is what PS zoomers missed out on. Nintendo never stopped making bangers.
>dark cloud could've been there
>but level 5 insisted on making demon shaft
bless their hearts
Ico is an amazing game
Wow, zoomers missed out on a bunch of games with bad controls, ugly graphics, and no/bad multiplayer.
>Ace Combat
>Dark Alliance
>FFX
>GT3
>ICO
Garbage.
