Did you toggle walk by pressing DEL in the plus patch? Otherwise it feels like regular HL2 movement speed.

VtMB is all about the atmosphere and story. I'm fine with walking back and forth to talk to NPCs when they're written as good as they are in VtMB.

Ganker will call you a zoomer but you're not wrong. I used to be able to tolerate shitty/boring gameplay if the atmosphere was amazing, games like this, Stalker SoC, NOLF and so on 10-15 years ago but I just can't anymore. It's normal for your tastes to change over time if you're a functioning adult. I don't know what else to tell you, I guess you missed the boat on VtMB. You had to be young and bored enough at the time to truly enjoy it.
