If pokemon was given more dev time with no dex cut and willing to take some risks like in DS era or the Legends game (it's generic open world but it's theirs at least) it would be a perfectly ok series, maybe up there with dragon quest in being decent, the corporate levels of not giving a shit are just beyond comprehension
