Tell me what other system that can play >Super Mario Bros. 2 >Super Mario Bros. 3 >Super Mario World >Donkey Kong Country >Donkey Kong Country 2 >Donkey Kong Country 3 >EarthBound >The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past >Final Fantasy IV >Final Fantasy V >Final Fantasy VI >Shin Megami Tensei >Shin Megami Tensei II
Yea its got >poorly cropped/scaled snes ports >shit colors to compensate for out of date lcd >joke 3d games that barely function >movie licensed shovelware >gba video >mediocre shit like golden sun and drill snozer
CRT autists go through so much trouble they never feel like playing the game, they already had their fun. It's like people obsessively modding games to be perfect or shopping through dozens of retro handhelds for the perfect one. They can't just play the fricking game for some reason.
I get why retro handheld people get shit for this but I've seen many people posting photos of finished games or in the middle of the game on the AP. Same goes for people playing on OG hardware or a 3DS. It's just the SBC redditors who post start screens and never play anything.
>no backlight >only d-pad and 4 buttons >non-existent 3D capabilities >abysmal resolution >downsampled crushed audio >got scrapped a few years when DS came out
what makes you think it's good?
crt filters make sense. some dithering effects rely on composite artifacts, and without scanlines moonrunes are borderline unreadable in some games.
>what makes you think it's good?
games were fun >pokemon firered and emerald >kirby and the amazing mirror and nightmare in dream land >metroid zero mission and fusion >final fantasy tactics advance >aria of sorrow >advance wars >mega man zero 1-4 >dbz legacy of goku 1-3 and supersonic warriors >both fire emblems
there are more but I played GBA a long time ago outside of Pokemon games
DS is WAY better than GBA but GBA is still a good system considering it was on the market for just 3.5 years before DS dropped
>gave this a chance not expecting much >had a smile on my face the entire game >couldn't put it down >wanted to buy a cart for my own sp
man they really hit the jackpot with this. here I was thinking I was too good for warioware my whole life
>had this as a kid, gave it a chance expecting lots of nostalgia >barely any games >most of them are against a personal score or time instead of an AI >quest mode seemed cool but gets almost unplayable towards the end cause bowser jr warps you every 3-4 turns >most of the quests are an insult to human intelligence
I really wasted my day there. some good memories should stay in the past
Tell me what other system that can play >Super Mario Bros. 2 >Super Mario Bros. 3 >Super Mario World >Donkey Kong Country >Donkey Kong Country 2 >Donkey Kong Country 3 >EarthBound >The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past >Final Fantasy IV >Final Fantasy V >Final Fantasy VI >Shin Megami Tensei >Shin Megami Tensei II
So when is Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow or Fire Red/ Leaf Green releasing? Never? I genuinely don't understand why Gamefreak has such a tight hold on them that Nintendo couldn't put them and the GameCube games on Switch. The TCG game is on there but we don't have the games we actually want to play.
It's because Pokémon has massive strength as a marketing tool so they don't want to just go and blow their load day one. The reason they don't just drop every game in existence at the start (apart from licensing/emulation issues) is that people would stop talking about it after a few months. This way they have an excuse to market it regularly and keep people aware.
The GBA, because it received so many ports of console games and had questionable hardware decisions (the dark screen, terrible soundchip, extremely heavy focus on costly peripherals like the e-Reader + cards and buying numerous link cables to the point they had to include diagrams of how to set up your ecosystem) felt like a relatively compromised experience of a console. I don't get that feeling from the Game Boy. I see Donkey Kong Land 3 and don't feel like it's a watered down version of DKC3, it's just a GB DK platformer made by Rare with inspiration taken from 3. But DKC3 on the GBA is a compromised version of the SNES original. And so many of the flagship games of the GBA are just compromised ports. There isn't a new Mario platformer.
I see the GBA as the thing where it was doing mildly well, and then they quickly jumped ship to the DS.
NDS was not meant to replace the GBA but be sold alongside it until Nintendo decided two platforms to support is dumb
it's like they supported 3DS for a bit before the Switch and then decided it's better to just have one platform for everything instead of making a 4DS
People don't realize how fast shit moved back in the day. The GBA and the DS have, like, three years between them. Meanwhile we've been stuck with the switch for 8 years. Prolly a full decade before a new console.
Zillennial alert.
And yet... it just isn't! Mmmhh-mmmhhh... Curious, methinks! Ahahahahahaahaha
Umm the nintendo 64?
Yea its got

Every single time.
Every time without fail. Coomlectors and CRTgays don't play games. Some 3rd world shitskin has probably finished more games than CRTBlack folk
>PChad
PCtard unironically refers to themself as PEECHAD
CRT autists go through so much trouble they never feel like playing the game, they already had their fun. It's like people obsessively modding games to be perfect or shopping through dozens of retro handhelds for the perfect one. They can't just play the fricking game for some reason.
I don't even like GBA but drill dozer was really damn cool
It was predictable and played it very safe and was ultimately boring as you go thru the motions for every stage
I got a Analogue pocket so none of those things apply to me plus I play games for free. God-tier system.
>I got a Analogue pocket
>I play games
Ha.
Analogue Pocket people actually play games on that thing as opposed to people with dozens of retro handhelds who just collect them.
>Analogue Pocket people actually play games
lmao.
I get why retro handheld people get shit for this but I've seen many people posting photos of finished games or in the middle of the game on the AP. Same goes for people playing on OG hardware or a 3DS. It's just the SBC redditors who post start screens and never play anything.
people who use crt filters are in fact autistic

when are they gonna add the hamtaro games
At the rate Nintendo adds GBA games your grandchildren might be able to play them
This is genuinely one of the best games on the GBA and it's kind of wild to think
The only grown men playing Nintendo games are pedophiles.
What if I only play Zelda and Metroid and no other Nintendo games.
then you're a gay pedophile
>gave this a chance not expecting much
>had a smile on my face the entire game

man they really hit the jackpot with this. here I was thinking I was too good for warioware my whole life
warioware gba is just the rawest form of fun you can have, go forth space biker
kururin is fun, and if you like the first game play the sequels with their translation patches and you will get hooked
>had this as a kid, gave it a chance expecting lots of nostalgia

oopsies
really weird installment
the only mario party i grew up with was DS. i remember loving it and it had so much content and minigames. it'll hold up if i play it these days right
>Switch GBA includes mostly games which originals can be found in the SNES collection. And ML:SS and Mario Kart I guess.
And also Golden Sun, Kuru Kuru Kururin and WarioWare Inc.
>watered down versions of SNES games and endless licensed shovelware
lol
The only people that like Golden Sun are those that played it when they were 9.
Everyone who plays it as an adult, today, thinks it's bad.
A friend of mine played it for the first time in his 20s when it first dropped on NSO and he thought it was amazing.
what if I wanted it when I was 9 but never got it
When are they gonna add Time Force power rangers

I'd like to believe it's because they are trying to integrate Pokemon Stadium compatibility, but it's probably a more disappointing reason.
It's because Pokémon has massive strength as a marketing tool so they don't want to just go and blow their load day one. The reason they don't just drop every game in existence at the start (apart from licensing/emulation issues) is that people would stop talking about it after a few months. This. Pokemon RBY and GSC on 3DS VC was a huge selling point. They were even selling 3DS bundles with Yellow.
debatable but the reason it's so beloved has nothing to do with the system itself but rather the quality of the games that were developed.
NDS is the best but I can't decide between GBA and 3DS.
Frickin A' brother, I played the shit out of one of those Dora the Explorer platformer games on the GBA
>completely butchers every port to it in your path
>system so popular and prolific they put a gba slot on the ds for 3/4 of its life
>hurr actually it sux dood
Ganker sure is a pile of shit.
Popularity != quality.
The only soundchip it has is the gbc's which is kino. And it's funny you'd bring up dkc3 because the gba ost is actually better than the o.g.
Nintendo told everyone the DS would be another pillar of the GBA library, that's why the DS has the slot.
NDS was not meant to replace the GBA but be sold alongside it until Nintendo decided two platforms to support is dumb
it's like they supported 3DS for a bit before the Switch and then decided it's better to just have one platform for everything instead of making a 4DS
Why didn't 3D on the GBA catch on?
too short lived sadly. You don't realise how quickly the NDS took over
People don't realize how fast shit moved back in the day. The GBA and the DS have, like, three years between them. Meanwhile we've been stuck with the switch for 8 years. Prolly a full decade before a new console.
eh, the OG gameboy lived for a long time too.
Its quite tricky to pull properly and low res didn't made any favors. You can port PS1 stuff without any major issues besides cart space.
NDS having beefier specs made it irrelevant, plus devs still had people from 16 bit to work at that time.
weaker than a snes
