1 had the best pvp
2 had the best atmosphere
3 had the best visuals & variety
Judgement had the best motivation to go and play the other 3
4 had the best nothing
5 has the best SJW appeal
There are no aliens the main enemies come from underground in the planet. They speculated they were aliens at one point as a throwaway line but that got disproven with the Nu Gears trilogy.
>isn't it just macho dudes in space shooting aliens?
You are thinking of how it used to be. With Gears 5 that all changed for sure although seeds were planted even back with 3.
5 followed the trend of tactic popular IP's and putting a strong abrasive independent female at the forefront. Its probably one of the worst examples because of just how self serving and annoying she is.
4 was fricking awful
5 had a better campaign, maybe as good as three's (open world shit wasn't great) horde/online in general is really good, if a bit grindy
graphics are insane bro
1 had best atmosphere. its the only one that actually leans towards the horror side and the locust feel like monsters coming from the shadows that you dont really understand or grasp
3 had the best multiplayer by far. dedicated servers and the movement was much more fluid and responsive than 1 or 2. only thing that annoyed me though is that in 3, one shotting an enemy with shotty turns them into a pink mist, where as the previous 2 games their whole body flies backwards and felt much more visceral. also Retro lancer was complete broken BS
2 is somewhere in the middle
the rest who cares
Nope. Game was when they went for the cod crowd (this game has fricking ADS on the hammerburst kek). Always hilarious seeing people shit on 4/5 mp but hype this dumpster fire.
It also had the sawn-off shotgun and retro lancer so CQC was still more than viable, people were just upset that lancers and hammerbursts could do more than tickle them as they ran headfirst across open fields.
Source: Heavily used lancer and constantly received hatemail from idiots that did exactly what I just described
Sawed-Off and Retro were easy mode CQC for people who weren’t good enough to use Gnasher. Literally the only reason people even played multiplayer in Gears 1 was to use Gnasher or Sniper.
Lancer and Hammerburst were already good/meta in Gears 2.
Active reloads made everything viable, especially the boltok. Torque bow and Boomer were also the main points to control. Gnasher kids just refused to explore anything else.
Played 1 remaster, 4 and now on 5.
Gears 1 remaster is great, added a bunch of missions I never got to play as it was on the PC exclusively. Played the whole thing in one sitting, never got bored.
4 is terrible. Bad characters, bad banter, bad levels, for some reason they made cringe robots your enemy for half the game. Story goes absolutely nowhere and is literally just a prequel for 5.
5 is surprisingly good from a campaign perspective so far. JD Fenix was written so poorly that switching to Kait feels like an improvement. Gunplay is 10x better and the story feels a lot more refined and meaningful. Honestly though, I think I'm just like 5 because 4 was so terrible that I viewed it as an extended intro to characters they're finally fleshing out now. It definitely feels very onions at moments though.
It had the best Versus in the series by far. >muh retro >muh sawed off >muh stopping power
Despite all that gay shit, it has the best shotty battles and wall bouncing was at its peak.
>muh stopping power
Was also in Gears 2 which had it even stronger than 3. It was necessary so that shotguns don't dominate so much in the meta which even with this inclusion they still overwhelmingly do.
It had the most polished gameplay while also not straying *too* far from the fundamentals of Gears. Maps were generally kind of shit though, the Retro Lancer was a stupid weapon, and introducing TDM was a mistake.
It easily has the blandest campaign. DB's are boring to fight, and the horde was only the most basic form of locust reskinned. Oh and those new frickers suck ass to fight.
>finally runs at 60 fps >dedicated servers have been down for years, so you can only play on laggy mexican hosts
I would play this game every single day if there were good servers again
no
For me it was GoW2
Yep frickin oath. Most memorable part in the series THEYRE SINKING CITIES WITH A GIANT WORM!
It's peak was the first game.
Are you Mexican?
2 > 1 = 3

Schizo
Nope, he's 100% correct. and you're just a fricking fanboy
Oh wait no 4 had the best giant thing with the helicopter blade spinning shield/mincer on the mech, that was kino
>sjw appeal
wut. I've never played these game but isn't it just macho dudes in space shooting aliens? What's sjw about that?
Was.

Ain't nothing wrong with this.
The story was a big let down.
pvp yes
horde no

honestly just loved the arcade mode

yes
did they ever bring back beast mode? I loved it
playing all three for free on xbox 4k 60fps. On a 4tb NVME ssd half the size of a potato chip. Kino.
Funny you say this because this is the exact point the series lost all cultural relevance and faded into obscurity.
1-3 collection on steam never ever
People gave Mass Effect 3 grief for the ending but at least they knew to pull the plug
Otherwise we get a Gears or Halo
