Open Lara is only compatible with TR1 for the time being, as far as I know. And until recently, it was very different from the original game. The autistic author of the project reworked everything from scratch to try to make something more faithful.
Anyway, if they manage to offer 100% vanilla experience, but with a decent frame rate and resolution, running natively on modern computers, then it'll be OK, I think. Every old game should have ports like Doom 1 and 2 has theirs...
The current trend, that even valve hopped on, of patching your old game to literally just make it playable on modern machines should be done to all these old broken classic games on steam. Any company churning out the remake to sell you instead of just patching their old games want to scam you.
The expansions are for the first 3 games and have 3-4 levels each. They are fine.
If you want more classic TR games you're far better off playing fan made levels.
